ProjectUpdatesOutdoorClassroom&ScienceGardens:Earlierthisyear,thePTOturnedoverprojectmanagementoftheOutdoorClassroomandScienceGardenstoMrs.RamseyandMs.Smith.4th&5thGradersworkedtogethertoformulateamasterplanforthecourtyardandworkisunderwaywiththepaverpatiocomplete.Inadditiontothe$9,000ingrantswereceivedattheendoflastschoolyearfromLowe’s&RotaryInternational,wewerejustawardeda$1,000CommunityGrantfromWalmart,whichwillbeusedtocompletethisproject.Totalfundingforthisproject,raisedsolelyfromgrants,is$10,000!Track&FieldImprovement:Thisprojectiscurrentlyon“hold”pendingfutureplansfortheplaygroundareas.The1st&2ndGradeplaygroundmightberelocatedtothelargeplayground/fieldareatomakewayformoreparking.ActionwillbetakenonthisprojectonceplansforbothareasarefinalizedbyCSD.FundraisingUpdateWetraditionallyholdtwo(2)majorfundraiserseachschoolyear—oneintheFallandoneintheSpring.TheFallFundraiser,FunRun,raised$9,789.18.ProceedsfromtheSpringFundraiser,Carnival,willbeaddedaftertheeventnextmonth.RewardsPrograms(BoxTops,HarrisTeeter&Target)currentlytotal$1,849.32.ThelastBoxTopscollectionraisedanother$823,makingthecurrentprojectedtotalforRewardsPrograms$2,672.32!SpiritNights(Zaxby’s,JerseyMike’s&Kate’sSkatingRink)haveraised$735!
