American Indian Family Empowerment Fund Grantees:

Highlights for the year:
H Completion of 2014-2017 Strategic Plan.
H Tiwahe Foundation selected as the backbone organization for the Native Leadership Alumni Network Project by the Blandin Foundation, Bush Foundation, Northwest Area Foundation, Headwaters Foundation and Native Americans in Philanthropy. The Collaborative selected the consultant, designed the survey and began the Alumni mapping. The Blandin Foundation contributed $225,000 to the project.
H Indigenous Peoples Day Fund Raising Event hosted by Glynn Crooks at his residence.
H Two Feathers Endowment partnership provided over $74,000 in American Indian Family Empowerment grants to 46 individuals.
H Hosted our first alumni gathering event, “Reclaiming the Gift of Visitation” resulting in reconnecting with over 600 alumni grantees throughout the year.
H Held our Second Annual Fund Raising Event with artists Heid Erdrich, R. Vincent Moniz and Tiwahe Alumni Douglas Limon and Rosy Simas.
H Received an award from the Grotto Foundation at their 50th Anniversary celebration in honor of our long-time partnership and dedication to the American Indian community.
H Received the Spirit of the People Award from Minnesota American Indian Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes organizations that promote and utilize the gifts of individuals and organizations to enhance, heal and strengthen Native communities.
