You might be surprised by what they include in “Home Education.” Return home with encouragement and ideas of how to be better involved.

AUDITORIUM C: Guns – What to Purchase and Where – Eric and Kaery DudenhoferIf you are uncertain about what type of gun to purchase, join NRA instructors Eric and Kaery Dudenhofer as they discuss various types of guns and their applications. They will recommend places to purchase guns and will share important information about this transaction as well as Washington and Oregon state laws regarding purchasing, transportation, and personal protection.

ROOM E: Keeping Your Kids Enthused about Homeschooling – Susan Bradrick Sometimes kids can lose their enthusiasm for home education along the way. This obviously hinders their learning and discipleship process and can derail homeschooling altogether. There will be time for Q&A to discuss specific offenses.

AUDITORIUM C: Q&A Session for Families with Special Needs Children – Jennifer Bliesner Meet with Jennifer in a small group and get your specific special needs questions answered. She will answer parents’ personal questions and make suggestions geared towards individual children.

ROOM D: Family Bible Time – Making It Happen Consistently – The Dudenhofer FamilyJoin the Dudenhofers as they discuss practical methods of accomplishing consistent Family Bible Time with children of multiple ages. This is something they have applied for many years. They will share what the Lord has taught them as well as many beneficial resources. Their seven children, ages 3 to 15 years, will also be sharing what they have enjoyed about their Family Bible Time.

ROOM E: Table Talk with a Homeschool Veteran – Susan Bradrick Nagging questions and insecurities can sap you of the resolve and zeal needed to begin or continue home based discipleship with your family. Bring your questions—even the odd ones—and gain insight and help in overcoming your fears and obstacles from a veteran homeschooler of nine grown children who has helped hundreds of homeschoolers over the past thirty years.

Dinosaurs Explained for Kids and AdultsFriday, 6:30 p.m., Auditorium A, CD # 14-02Dinosaurs are probably used more than anything to convince children and even adults that the Bible is not true and that you have to believe in millions of years. Sadly, many people think that the Bible has nothing to do with dinosaurs. However, once you accept the true history of the world as given in the Bible (and particularly the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis), you can easily understand dinosaurs … and thus correctly interpret the evidence from the fossils to correctly understand dinosaurs. Evolutionists speak of an “age of dinosaurs” over millions of years, but in this session, we will talk about the five ages of dinosaurs—having nothing to do with millions of years!

Steadfast in Hope – Defending the Christian FaithSaturday, 4:15 p.m., Auditorium A, CD #14-04Many people have the idea that the battle between Christianity and humanism (or creation and evolution) is a battle over “facts.” However, it’s not that Christians need more facts than non-Christians to supposedly win the argument, for the real battle is actually over the interpretation of the same facts.Until Christians understand that everyone has the same facts but have different interpretations of those facts (based upon different presuppositions or biases), they will not be successful in learning how to defend the Christian faith and think in a true Biblical manner. It’s very possible you will never think the same way about this world after attending this session!

Hope Lies in Standing on the Authority of ScriptureFriday, 9:00 a.m., Auditorium A, CD #14-01Most people have the erroneous idea that the Bible is just a book of religion, morality, and salvation. But the Bible is much more: it’s also a book of history, and deals with the “big picture” aspects of every area of reality, including geology, astronomy, biology, anthropology, physics, and chemistry. The key to developing a Christian worldview and rebuilding the Biblical foundation that has been so undermined in our culture is to use the Bible’s history—encompassing geology, astronomy, biology, etc.—as a pair of Biblical glasses. The Bible’s history can be used to connect the past to the present, enabling us to correctly interpret the scientific evidence of the present so we can then use observational science to confirm the Biblical interpretation. This same history is also foundational to understanding the Gospel, Christian morality, etc. Moral issues such as abortion and gay marriage are all part of this discussion. Lot, the Worldly FatherScott Brown • Auditorium B • CD #14-32As we survey the Scriptures, we find that the protection of daughters reached a low point in Lot’s household in Sodom. This story illustrates Lot’s devastating syncretism in Sodom. While the protection of Lot’s daughters is only one of many themes in the narrative, what is described here gives us a vivid and startling example of what a lack of protection by a father looks like and helps us to understand how he, through poor choices, can abdicate his responsibility bit by bit, resulting in a daughter’s grave peril. Workshop D, Saturday 10:15-11:15 a.m. The Profile of a Courageous Father Scott Brown • Auditorium A • CD #14-41Families need courageous fathers. This is the kind of fatherly leadership that we see in Joshua, the son of Nun. Joshua was a true man. He was not proving himself to be a man by living out some kind of worldly macho testosterone expression session. He proved himself by being a highly principled, visionary, and courageous man who walked according to the counsels of God. He is an inspiring example of a man who understood his role. When Joshua declared, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”, he was laying claim to a position of headship over his family. In this statement we find a mixture of courage and vision. He believed that his family was his. He saw himself as a steward who was fully responsible for a particular house for he calls it “my house.” A family was given to him by Almighty God.

While it’s true that people can believe in millions of years of earth history and reject the six literal days of Creation (so prevalent today in the church and its Christian leaders) and still be born-again Christians, this compromise has been a key factor in undermining Biblical authority, leading to a loss of Christian morality in our culture.

As a visionary father, Abraham determines the criteria for selection of a wife for his son Isaac, and he dispatches his most trusted servant to find her. Not only do we see a father helping his son get married, but we also see God deploying an angel to make sure that all goes according to His will. In our day, it is more designed to prepare a man for a career. While living as free men and having jobs may be good things, the real end of all education, as John Milton argued, is to repair the ruins of our first parents, to learn again to love God aright. This talk will explore how education is still discipleship, even in college; how we ought not to prepare our children for the “great conversation” but for the “great confrontation;” the continuing battle between the Seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent; and how what our children still need to know is God’s Word.

Consequently, many women are overloaded by church ministry, fueled by guilt, while their mission field at home suffers. It’s time for us to tell mothers that making disciples of the next generation is enough.

Fathers’ Hearts Turning Toward HomeScott Brown • Auditorium B • CD #14-62In a very dramatic chapter of the Bible, we see the message of the Old Testament drawn together in one last prophetic testimony from God. It will not be until the ministry of John the Baptist, nearly 400 years later, that the prophetic testimony will be renewed. In Malachi chapter 4, we see the secret of family reformation and the unmasking of the most important underlying force in family life – the spiritual revival of hearts. Fathers should take note of a simple fact from this amazing chapter. These final words of the Old Testament address the issue of the condition of the hearts of fathers toward their children and of children toward their fathers. Additionally, Malachi helps us to answer the question: “What does the Gospel have to do with my family?”

Exploring Sites in Washington Which Show Evidence for the Global Flood Kyle Justice • Auditorium C • CD #14-63TV producer Kyle Justice uses video tour clips and images to share how families in the Pacific Northwest can venture out for a weekend to discover geologic features in Washington State relating to the Flood and subsequent Ice Age. View Mt. St. Helens, track the Missoula Flood across eastern Washington, trace the Ice Age in the Cascades and Lake Chelan, and the quick formation of the Olympic Peninsula. Kyle will share route plans and special places to visit along the way. Families will be able to visit these locations later and understand them from a Biblical worldview and the perspective of the Flood.

General Conference InformationName TagsPlease wear your name tag at all times to ensure admittance to each event of the conference. At the end of the conference, please leave your name tag holders in the provided receptacles by the main entrance.

Announcements and Messages Check the monitors throughout the church for any last-minute announcements and emergency messages.

ChildrenChildren are welcome to attend the workshops and General Sessions, although the messages are geared for a maturity level of approximately 10 and above. We do ask that you take noisy children out of the room during all workshop and General Sessions as all sessions are recorded, and so as not to disturb others. Due to limited space in the workshop rooms, please leave strollers outside and have small children sit on parents’ laps.Note: Except for responsible young adults, all youth and children not attending the Chorale should remain with their parents at all times rather than attend workshops on their own. We desire to encourage family-togetherness as much as possible during this conference.

Nursing Mothers and ToddlersSeparate rooms are provided for nursing mothers and for toddlers who need a

break. Please check your map for the exact locations.
