STILLWATER – On Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21, Saratoga National Historical Park, located on Routes 32 and 4 in Stillwater, will present an 18th century living history encampment marking the 235th anniversary of the world’s “most important battle of the last 1,000 years.” Camps will be open Saturday from 9 to 4 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 to 3 p.m.
This two-day encampment will surround visitors with the sights, smells, and sounds of military camp life from the American Revolution. Dozens of re-enactors portray American and British officers, soldiers, cavalry troops, and camp followers from the Battles of Saratoga. See cavalry charge, join in a court-martial and decide the soldier’s fate, take part in a musket drill, follow along with a scouting party, or listen to stories of the revolutionary war experience. Feel the thunderous roar of cannons, smell the acrid smoke of musket fire as well as the welcoming wisps of camp cooking fires. Immerse yourself in the wonder of camp life in earliest America!
On Sunday, there will be a 2 p.m. Wreath Laying Ceremony by Sons of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Revolution at Tour Road Stop 2. The public is welcome to attend this commemorative wreath laying.
The event is free, but the normal entrance fee to the park of $5
per car and $3 per hiker or cyclist (good for one week entry) is charged. For more information about this or other events, please call the Visitor Center at 518-664-9821 ext.1777, check the park website at www.nps.gov/sara or follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/saratoganhp

On Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., six of the most creative farm-stead cheese makers in the Northeast will open their farms to the public for a free tasting. and help shape what type of resources, open space, parks and bike paths you would like to see developed within our community. The initiative is part of the organization’s “It’s Your Battenkill, Explore It” Series in conjunction with its Battenkill Corridor Connec-tions Project which highlights a series of scenic, recreational, historic and cultural access
points along the river. Initial results from the groups survey soliciting feedback on what the public wants as pertains to the river will be reviewed as well. The short ten question survey is available to be com-pleted on line at www.batten-killconservancy.org.

CAMBRIDGE – Beginning Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7, St. Luke’s Church in Cambridge will host an old fashioned tent revival in their back yard on St. Luke’s Place.
Father Nigel Mumford, of By His Wounds Ministry, will be the keynote speaker on Friday night at 6:30 and Saturday night at 7 pm. The Reverend Nigel Mumford is an International speaker and author. In 2013, Nigel became the founder of By His Wounds, Inc. He will also be the guest celebrant for the 9 a.m. Sunday Service.
Live praise and worship music will fill the tent Saturday starting at 1 pm along with
a message from Pastor Dave Martin of Hope United Methodist Church in Troy. From 3 to 4 Pastor Charlie Muller of Victory Christian Church in Albany will preach the good news. Pastor Brian Weeks who has shared his prophetic ministry with St, Luke’s in the past returns to minister to all from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
A chicken and biscuit supper will be available for purchase from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 and includes beverage and dessert!
