PDF Dean Whitehead Greetings to all members! I hope this newsletter finds you well. As I was riding into the neighborhood about 2 weeks ago, I had a 90's flashback. I'm riding down Buford and from a distance (and I mean a long way) past the Hastings entrance I saw a man running away from me on the road. The first thought that hit me was this guy looks like David Hasselhoff from Baywatch. We all remember that show so need I say any more. So as I near this gentleman, I notice this guy has a good tan and brown hair that has a little length on it in the back. The only thing this guy needs is some cool shades, a lifeguard rescue can, some red shorts, and we can sign him up for pool duty. I pull up along side of him and who do you know, BAM...IT'S LARRY FOSTER! Jack Carey pointed out to me that he had some help fixing the lights and doing the odd jobs at the clubhouse in May. So a BIG THANK YOU to Tim Dube for leading the repair team of Carey & Dube. Greetings to all members!

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE (continued from page 1)

At the June B.O.D. meeting, the Board decided to print and deliver the newsletter quarterly. As such, the August version will be printed. This Forester is a little later than normal this month, because we had to move the Board meeting due to the swim meet. We also discussed doing a better job next year in getting the dues invoices out sooner and setting a date of April 30, 215 to collect all dues. This will allow the Board some time between the final dues date and the opening of the pool to rectify any issues regarding memberships. Barbara Streb also gave a report on the new directory. She is working hard to make sure the directory's information is correct, and Ginny Carey is working hard to sell adds to pay for it. Be sure to thank them, and we hope to have the new directories available at the annual meeting in December. Mary Berry started to look at other companies to clean the clubhouse. I am happy to report since our June meeting that we have hired a different company to clean the clubhouse. This company will be able to care for the tile floors by stripping and waxing them, so I am excited to see what they can do with our old floors. We plan to have another “Friday in the Forest” sometime in August as a family pool night, and our annual Margaritaville will be toward the end of month. So pay attention to the exit signs leaving the neighborhood, your email, and our new Facebook page. That's right I said FACEBOOK! Hanes Spicer agreed to create this page for anyone that is associated with our HOA, pool, and swim team to join as another form of communication. We currently have 25 members, so log-in to Facebook and find the page called Windsor Forest HOA and ask to join. Please do not hesitate to email me with questions, concerns, or problems, because each one of you are the “eyes” of the neighborhood and street on which you live. Best regards,

Dean

WINDSOR FOREST NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Leslie Reeser, Coordinator

I first wish to tell you all how much it means to have had your support and assistance during my time as Neighborhood Watch Coordinator. I think we have been proactive in lowering the mischief and criminal activity because of our heightened awareness.

I have had the opportunity to recognize how very much you all care about where we live, our neighbors, and our community on the whole. I have a greater appreciation now for how much you give of your own time to help, and I appreciate your efforts. I would like to add that this will be my last 2 events as your NW Coordinator; and if you would like to nominate someone you think has a passion for coordinating this watch with JCCPD or would like to volunteer, please let me know as soon as possible.

I will of course be happy to lend my support, and pass forward my spread sheets and the information you will need to update as people come and go from our neighborhood. We hold only 2 annual meetings and 1 event annual. The biggest concern on everyone's list is the 'alerts' when there is a neighborhood incident. Fortunately we do not have many.

As always I look forward to seeing each of you at our meeting and/or at the National Night-Out Event in August.

Sincerely, Leslie Reeser WF Neighborhood Watch Coordinator 212 Hempstead Rd 757-564-8663

CELEBRATING 4TH OF JULY IN THE FOREST

After dodging the hurricane, families from all over the neighborhood and beyond were able to come and celebrate our nation's Independence Day with fun, games, popsicles, and swimming. Thank you for coming out to celebrate in The Forest, and thank you to all that helped make this possible. Pictured above are the champions of the First Annual Windsor Forest 4th of July Cornhole Tournament – (l-r) Maria Schisa and Heather Moore.
