    Welcome to Panduit!

    Over the next few weeks, you will be immersed in all of the ideas, principles, history,policies and procedures that guide the way we do things at Panduit. Its an exciting timeboth for you and Panduit as we get to know each other, and as you launch your careerhere.

    Our goal at New Hire Orientation is to help you make the connection to Panduit tohelp you better understand the big picture of who we are, what we do, how we do it, andhow your work helps Panduit provide our customers world class solutions.

    There are no small jobs at Panduit, no insignificant roles to play. At Panduit, we areserious about connecting the right people with the right roles, and we truly believe thatevery individual employee contributes directly to our overall success. This workshop isyour opportunity to connect with others who are beginning their journey with Panduit aswell.

    This Participant Guideis yours to keep. It contains key points summarized from theworkshop, space for taking notes and completing activities as well as helpful resourcesfor you to reference when you are on the job. It does not contain all of the informationyou will need to learn how to do your job, nor does it contain all of the detail that you willhear and see in the training. Instead, your active participation in the workshop is neededto make this guide complete.

    In addition to this Participant Guide, you will also receive an Onboarding Toolkit andActivity Guide. This is meant to help you transition from the Orientation phase toOnboarding. It includes activities to help you learn about your location, your department,and your job function. It also includes reference materials designed to help you on the

    Seeks Leadership in Energy. has reduced energy usage significantly in recent years, while production rates

    Reuse and Recycling Panduit recycles nearly all production waste and scrap, office paper, and received

    Each manufacturing unit reviews all inputs and outputs annually, and identifiespotential new recycling opportunities.

    Panduit has reduced waste to landfill disposal below year 2000 levels.

    Hazardous Material ManagementPanduit has prioritized minimization of hazardous material usage, and continues to

    search for non-hazardous alternatives.

    Design for Environment End-of-life and disposal considerations are incorporated in all product designs.

    All new facilities are designed to be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED) certified, and existing building are progressing toward that goal.

    Environmental consideration of product design and revision is a mandatory step.

    All Panduit catalog products comply with the material restrictions of EuropeanDirective 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).

    All of Panduits packaging materials are free from heavy metals.

    Our products are robust and last a long time.

    Almost all of our products are plastic and can be easily recycled at end of life in thesame kinds of industrial recycling programs we ourselves use.

    We dont use heavy metals or other things that can pollute ground or water if thecustomer throws them away instead of recycling.

    Third-Party EMS Registration Panduits Environmental Management System (EMS) is independently evaluated

    annually to assure that the EMS remains implemented and effective.

    Panduit achieved ISO14001 registration in 2000 for all manufacturing operations:

    ISO14001 is an international environmental certification standard. Companies whomeet this standard are able to remain more competitive in the global market.

    Panduits Environmental Management System (EMS) Panduits Environmental Management System is mature, effective, and implemented

    at all levels of the organization.

    Panduit has an Environmental Manager dedicated to managing all aspects ofenvironmental policy and practice.

    Each facility also has a local Environmental Representative.

    The entire system is reviewed quarterly with Business Unit Managers, and at least

    annually by the President.

    Your Role Each Panduit employee, regardless of their job, has a role to play in protecting the

    environment.

    In the coming weeks, the work practices and habits that can protect theenvironment, and the facets of your job duties that may have impact on theenvironment, will be explained to you by your supervisor.

    Some roles are common to all employees; for example, using the recyclingprograms to divert waste from landfill, and energy management techniques.

    Some roles are very limited, such as chemical management techniques for thosewho will handle large quantities of hazardous chemicals or environmentallyunfriendly materials, such as oil or fluorescent lamps.

    Whatever your job dutiesnext week or next year, or 10 years from now you willbe expected to protect the environment by following the 3 Cs of PanduitsEnvironmental Policy: Panduit is commi t tedto the prevention of pollution throughcompl iancewith environmental laws and cont inua l improvementof ourperformance.

    Standards of Ethical ConductThe objective of the Standards of Ethical Conduct is to ensure that Panduit business isconducted with integrity, in an ethical manner, compliant with all laws and regulations,and without the existence or appearance of conflicts of interest.

    These standards:

    Prevent conflicts of interest and corrupt practices.

    Show that ethical practices are important to Panduit.

    Apply to all Panduit employees globally.

    The minimum ethical standards state that Panduit employees must:

    Maintain accurate business records.

    Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

    ISO

    Due to the broad customer base it serves, and recognizing its global marketplace, Panduit hasadopted the ISO9000 and ISO14000 series of standards as the basis for its quality andenvironmental system. Our Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS) applies toall worldwide Design Control Units, Manufacturing Units, and Software DevelopmentGroups. ISO is an International Organization for Standards. Companies often get certifiedbecause customers require it. Also, the companies can gain continued or increased businessand maintain effective operations. Certification is achieved and maintained via audits that arecarried out both internally and by an independent 3rd party, accredited certification body.

    Initial Employment Period Panduit has an initial probationary period. (See Procedure C1-0616) The intent is to ensure fit within Panduit on both sides of the employment

    relationship.

    Four calendar months (full-time) or equivalent amount of hours (part-time). During this period, your supervisor evaluates performance against expectations.

    Take ownership in the process and act as a driver of your probationary period.

    If any concern you have is not resolved, you can request additional meetings with

    the Vice President or call the Code of Conduct & Business Ethics Hotline.

    Proper use of Electronic Resources

    Panduit expects all employees to adhere to the Rules of Conduct outlined in ProcedureC1-0334 when they are using Panduits Network and/or when discussing Panduitrelated matters using Social Media, even while accessing these sites on a third-partynetwork outside of work.

    Computer resources are property of Panduit.

    All email messages, Instant Messages (IM), Office Communicator messages, andInternet usage should be business-related and is considered company property.

    Use of Social Media sites for personal matters during work hours is prohibited.

    Do not use your Panduit email account when accessing Social Media sites outside

    of work.

    If you identify yourself as an employee of Panduit, you are responsible forrepresenting the company in a professional manner.

    May not reproduce copyrighted materials (such as third party software).

    Workplace Dress

    We maintain a high-quality, professional business environment, per H1-1949.

    You should present a professional appearance that results in a favorable impressionwith internal and external customers.

    It is your responsibility to be aware of the workplace dress required for your specificarea.

    Note that employees working in the production areas may have some specific dresscode requirements for safety purposes (ex. type of shoes worn, no loose clothing, andno dangling jewelry). This will be addressed at each location.

    Smoking Policy

    Tobacco use of any kind is not al low ed in any Panduit facility, or anywhere onPanduit property. This includes the parking lot or in an employees vehicle and appliesto smoking, use of chewing tobacco or electronic cigarettes.

    Smoking cessation help is available to anyone who would like to quit smoking. Any

    employee who does not follow this procedure will be subject to the disciplinary actions

    outlined in procedure H1-1506, Job Security.

    Drug Free Workplace

    Panduit enforces a drug-free work environment per H1-1506.

    All of the following are grounds for immediate dismissal:

    Use, possession and/or sale of marijuana, narcotics, or illicit dangerous drugs

    Refusing to take a drug or alcohol test Being under the influence of an intoxicant

    Photography and Property Control

    To ensure confidentiality is maintained:

    Cameras are not allowed inside any Panduit facility without proper approval per

    procedure C1-0394. Camera phones may not be used inside any facility and may not be brought into any

    production area.

    The purchase, possession, and/or usage of cameras for Panduit business must

    have the appropriate approvals.

    No property such as tools, equipment, product or scrap items may be taken out of

    any Panduit facility without an approved property pass.

    Note:

    Employees are often allowed to take scrap boxes home. For example, if you are moving

    and need boxes, Panduit will allow you to take scrap cartons as long as a property passis filled out and approved. Any parcel, package or container of any type being removed

    from, or brought into, a Panduit facility is subject to search by the Security Officer.

    Checks will be conducted on a random, unscheduled basis.

    Time and Attendance Overview

    Adherence to time and attendance policies and procedures is taken seriously atPanduit. As part of your onboarding process, you should thoroughly explore theEmployee Handbook on Connect, which links to time and attendance policies and

    Doors to restricted areas will not open unless an employees badge has beencoded for access.

    Employee Absences

    Report to work on time each scheduled work day.

    If unable to workbecause of illness, injury, or other emergency, notify Supervisoras soon as possible.

    Absences must be reported daily or as required by Supervisor.

    Contact our short-term disability vendor if absence is more than five days induration.

    Standard business hours are between 8:00am and 5:00pm local time, Mondaythrough Friday. Individual departments must be operational during these times

    Lunch and Breaks

    Lunch breaks differ by location and shift. Check with your supervisor or manager.
