TIRE SPINNING.On slippery surfaces such as snow, mud, ice, etc.,do not spin tires in excess of 35 mph (55 kph), asindicated on the speedometer.

EXCESSIVE WHEEL SPINNING.This can also result in tire disintegration or axlefailure.

WARNING: Vehicle handling, traction, ride comfort andother performance parameters may be significantly af-fected by a change in tire size or type. Before replacingtires, always consult and follow the vehicle OwnersManual because some vehicle manufacturers prohibitchanging tire size. When selecting tires that are differ-ent from the original equipment size make certain: (1)The tires have adequate load carrying capacity based

on the vehicle placard, (2) The tires have sufficientinflation pressure to carry the load and (3) There isproper clearance with no interference points betweenthe tire and vehicle. The consumer must be aware toalways drive safely and obey all traffic laws. Avoidsudden, sharp turns or lane changes. Failure to followanyof these warningsmay resultin loss of control of thevehicle, leading to an accident and serious injury ordeath.

    TIRE CARE AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE

Theeasiest wayto help ensuresatisfactory mileage andperformance from your Goodyear or Dunlop tires is togive them a simple but frequent (at least monthly) in-spection for proper inflation, even treadwear, and thepresence of any damage.

DO MAINTAIN PROPER INFLATIPRESSURE IN YOUR TIRESProper inflation pressure is necessary for opperformance, safety and fuel economy. Chepressures at least once a month and beforeUse an accurate tire pressure gauge. Alwpressures when thetiresare cold (when thevbeen driven less than one mile). If you minflation whenthe tires are hot,add 4 psi (27recommended cold inflationpressure. It is dif

just by looking at radial tires whether they aflated.*

Furthermore, when operating a vehicle equradial tires, it is difficult to notice when a tireflat or nearly flat since the feel of the vehicchange significantly.

The Convenience (Temporary)Spare weighs lessthan astandard tire so its easierto handle. It also helps reducethe total car weight which contributes to fuel economy.

The wheels used with the Convenience (Temporary)Spare are specifically designed for use with high pres-sure spares and should never be used with any othertype tire.

DONT ATTEMPT TO MOUNT YOUROWN TIRESSerious injuryor Death mayresult from explosionof tire/rim assembly due to improper mounting procedures.Follow tire manufacturers instructions and match tirediameter to rim diameter. Mount light truck radials onrims approved for radial service. Do not apply beadsealer. This can inhibit bead seating. Lubricate beadsand tire rim (including tube or flap) contact surfaces.Lock assembly on mounting machine or place in safety

cage. STAND BACK and never exceed 40 psi to seatbeads. Never use a volatile substance or a rubberdonut(alsoknownas a bead expander or O-Ring) toaid bead seating. Only specially-trained persons shouldmount tires.

DONT MIX TIRES OF DIFFERENTSIZES AND TYPES ON THE SAMEAXLEFor optimum handling and control, Goodyear and Dun-lop recommendfitment of four (4)tiresof thesame typeand size unless otherwise specified by the vehicle

manufacturer.WARNING: Before you replace your tires, always con-sult the vehicle Owners Manual and follow the vehiclemanufacturers replacement tire recommendations. Ve-

hicle handling maybe significantly affected by a changein tire size or type. When selectingtiresthatare differentthan the Original Equipment size, see a professionalinstaller in order to make certain that proper clearance, load carrying capacityand inflationpressure is selected.Never exceed the maximum load capacity and inflationpressure listed on the sidewall of the tire. Always drive

safely and obey all traffic laws. Avoid sudden, sharpturns or lane changes. Failure to followthis warning mayresult in loss of control of the vehicle, leading to anaccident and serious injury or death.

When replacing tires, you must maintain the outsidediameter and load carrying capacity of the OriginalEquipment tire. Inflation pressure may need to be ad-

justed to avoid overloading the tire. Consult the Tire &Rim Association Load and Inflation Tables, ETRTO orJATMA standards for correct load and inflation informa-tion.

NEVER FIT TIRES TO A VEHICLE THATHAVE LESS LOAD CARRYINGCAPACITY THAN AS REQUIRED BYTHE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENTMANUFACTURERExamples: Many vehicles, such as large passengervans, require Load Range E tires as designated by thevehicle manufacturer. Fitment of a tire, such as a LoadRange D, with less carrying capacity is not allowed.

In other cases, tires of the same size may carry differentload indexes in the service description. You must makecertain the replacement tires fitted to the vehicle have aload carrying capacity equal to or greater than what theOriginal Equipment manufacturer specifies.

NOTE:Goodyear manufactured and/or European-Metric passenger tires andpassenger tires are interchangeable athey have the same section width, samratio, same rim diameter. Caution: Nevtute a Standard Load(SL) tire for an E

(XL) tire. If the vehicle was originally with Extra Load (XL) tires, replace thwith similar sized XL tires.

FOLLOW THESE ADDITIONALGUIDELINESWhen installing only two tires, fit the tiredeepest tread depth on the rear axle. If rnon-radials must be fitted to thesame vehicleon rear axle. Never mix radials and non-radsame axle. TIRE SERVICE LIFETires aredesigned andbuilt to provide many thousandsof miles of excellent service. For maximum benefit, tiresmust be maintained properly to avoid tire damage that

may result in removal from service before the tread isworn down to minimum depth.

It is not practical to accurately predict the service life ofany specific tire in chronological time since service con-ditions vary widely. The serviceability of a tire over time is afunction of the storage and service conditions (inflationpressure, load, speed, road hazard injury, etc.) to which atire is subjected. Consumers should not rely solely on theappearance of thetire, but shouldbe awareof anychange

in dynamic performance such as increased air loss, noiseor vibration, which could be a sign to remove the tire. Therefore, it is essential to have tires, including spares, inspected regularly (at least monthly) for proper inflationpressure, damage and treadwear.
