OFFERING IN SONG led by J.C. RicoHosanna page 12
CELEBRATING COMMUNION
THE GREAT THANKSGIVINGThe bishop stands behind the Lords Table facing the people,
who also stand as able from this time through the Lords Prayer, and begins the prayer:
The Lord be with you.And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
The bishop lifts and extends hands and keeps them raised.
We lift them up to the Lord.Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise. It is right, and a good and joyful thing,
always and everywhere to give thanks to you, almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth.
Throughout your story of life, you called your people to gather in fiesta
to narrate their experience of your love, mercy, and grace. You formed us in your image and breathed into us the breath of life. When we turned away, and our love failed, your love remained steadfast. You delivered us from captivity, made covenant to be our sovereign God,
and spoke to us through your prophets, who looked for that daywhen justice shall roll down like waters
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream, when nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.
And so, with your people on earthand all the company of heaven
we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
The bishop lowers and joins hands.
Holy, holy, holy Lord,God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.Hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LordHosanna in the highest.
-
La Fiesta Communion - 3
The bishop raises and extends hands.
Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ.Your Spirit anointed Jesus to preach good news to the poor,
to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind,to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to announce that the time had come
when you would save your people.Jesus healed the sick, fed the hungry, and ate with sinners.By the baptism of Jesus suffering, death, and resurrection
you gave birth to your Church, and made with us a new covenant by water and the Spirit.
At Jesus ascension you exalted the Messiahto sit and reign with you at your right hand.
We celebrate this Fiesta del Barrio in Jesus honor.
The bishop lifts the bread and prays:
On the night in which Jesus gave himself up for us,he took bread, gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you.Do this in remembrance of me."
The bishop lifts the cup, and says:
When the supper was over Jesus took the cup, gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Drink from this, all of you;this is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for manyfor the forgiveness of sins.
Do this, as often as you drink it,in remembrance of me."
The bishop raises and extends hands. And so,
in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving
as a holy and living sacrifice,in union with Christ's offering for us,
as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.
The bishop holds hands over the bread and cup:
Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here, and on these gifts of bread and wine.
-
La Fiesta Communion - 4
Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the body of Christ,
redeemed by his blood.
The bishop raises and extends hands:
By your Spirit make us one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world,
until Christ comes in final victoryand we feast at his heavenly banquet.
Viva la Fiesta de Jesucristo!
Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church,
all glory and honor is yours, Almighty God,now and forever. Amen.
THE LORD'S PRAYERAnd now, with the confidence of children of God, let us pray:Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory
forever. Amen. The congregation may be seated.
GIVING THE BREAD AND CUPThe bishop breaks the bread, saying:
Because there is one loaf,we, who are many, are one body.
because we all partake of the one loaf. The bread which we break is a sharing in the body of Christ.
The bishop raises the cup, saying:
The cup over which we give thanksis a sharing in the blood of Christ.

How He LovesVerse 1
He is jealous for me loves like a hurricaneI am a tree bending beneath
The weight of His wind and mercyWhen all of a sudden I am unaware of
These afflictions eclipsed by gloryI realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me(Pre-Chorus)
Oh how He loves us soOh how He loves usHow He loves us so
(REPEAT)
Chorus 1(Yeah) He loves us
Oh how He loves usOh how He loves us

Verse 2We are His portion and He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyesIf grace is an ocean we're all sinking
So Heaven meets earthLike a sloppy wet (unforeseen) kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chestI don't have time to maintain these regrets
When I think about the way that
