BluePrint Ceramics are committed to bringing the latest tile trends and designs to the UK and International Markets. Attending Cersaie 2013 was a must in order for us to distinguish the latest trends for 2014. So what can we look forward to in the coming year when it comes to tiles? ›

We noticed that rectangle tiles were dominant at this

year’s cersaie Fair for both wall and floor applications.

also, rather than the traditional 1:2 ratios, they came in

a whole variety of sizes, including many large formats in

all sorts of looks. We saw many natural stone look tiles

in longer rectangle formats which gave them a more

unique look when laid, compared to the square sizes

we’ve seen previously.

With the ability of digital print in tile manufacturing

to print on uneven surfaces, we saw many tiles with

undulating or uniquely textured surfaces. The textured

surfaces gave the tiles a more natural organic look and

definitely brought depth into the space. certainly, they

looked stunning as feature walls and we can already see

how much more life it would bring to introduce these

textured wall tiles, which come in neutral colours.

as with the last cersaie Fair, the trend for hexagon-

shaped tiles continue, but this time we saw them come

in larger sizes with a whole variety of looks, from subtle

muted greys to textured and wood looks.

There were 2 distinctive looks when it came to

decorative tiles at this year’s fair. one was the random

floral patterned look influenced by Moroccan heritage

designs, which came in all sorts of colours from subtle

greys to brighter colourful patterns; the other was the 3D

patterned look which added interesting visual depth to

flat surfaces, and came in several different sizes. These

decorative tiles looked great on both floors and walls

unlike the typical wall only decorative tiles.

notably tile manufacturers have expanded on the wood

look design to create a huge variety of different wood

looks from the traditional oak plank to tiles inspired by

aged barrel wood. We also saw square tiles with wood

look designs in different patterns, reminiscent of parquet

flooring and was definitely unique while being very easy

to install. imagine the effort it would take to reproduce

the same design in ordinary wooden planks!

The warm appeal of wood combines with the functionality

and resistance of porcelain stoneware in the WooDTEch 4

collection, inspired by larch wood and widely used in traditional

alpine architecture. WooDTEch 4 is the result of intensive

a natural evolution of the pattern up project, PaTTErn-UP

ceramics extends Mauro Bellei’s Tone Program with lanD, a

new collection with his name underlining its clear link with earth

but the friable material, in a variety of different colours, that

makes up the surface layer of the earth’s crust. lanDS, meaning

a set of different lanDS. Which often vary considerably in their

combining workability and strength in an extremely light,

flexible product. The big tiles in the Mega collection respond to

designers’ need to speak the language that best interprets the

needs of today’s spaces. corE is a tile measuring 3000x1500

mm, with a texture inspired by cor-ten steel. a warm brown

colour, it can be adapted to suit various kinds of spaces, and may

The ceramic collection takes its inspiration from a natural

limestone which can be traditionally found in Bourgogne, a French

region that is internationally renowned for its prestigious wines

and its architectural beauty, in particular for its castles, abbeys

and romanesque buildings. BluePrint ceramics reinterprets this

precious material that has been widely used in the history of

architecture, combining its natural appeal with the excellent

technical performances of BluePrint ceramics quality porcelain

stoneware. The BroGan collection is available in five graphic and

chromatic versions; two of them have a textured finish interpreting

the surface of limestone. This ceramic collection is characterised

by natural hues, ranging from beige to grey, with bright and dark

shades staggered by dots, veining and irregular grey stripes evoking

the fossil shells, which can be typically found on the surface of the

natural stone from which the ceramic collection takes its inspiration.
