WHAT IS SUMMER SCHOOL?
Summer school is both an academic and an enrichment program provided by the St. Francis School District. Summer
school offers a variety of courses based on Wisconsin Academic Standards and Common Core Standards. A number of
courses are available for students who would benefit from extra assistance in reading, writing, and mathematics. Summer
school consists of two three-week sessions. Courses are taught by certified teachers.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND?
Students attending the St. Francis School District or students living in the city of St. Francis are eligible to register for
summer classes. Residents require proof of residency (phone bill, electric bill, etc.) Non-resident students are eligible to
attend but will be required to pay a higher registration fee. (Please see, What Is the Cost?) If your child has special needs
or a disability in regards to summer school, please contact Guy Powell, 842-8410 to share information.

$20.00 per student. No cash refunds will be given unless a class is changed or canceled by the District.
WHAT IS THE SUMMER SCHOOL ATTENDANCE POLICY?
All students are expected to attend summer school on a regular basis. Parents must notify the summer school office
(482-8401) by 8:00 a.m. if a student is absent.
During the summer school sessions, the School District does not employ a summer school attendance secretary and
parents will not be notified on a daily basis when their child is absent, and for that very reason we must hear from you.
**Parents Please Note: We must have a direct phone number to communicate with you for emergency, as well as
attendance issues. **
Courses must have a minimum of 10 students enrolled or they will be canceled.
Unless parents/guardians are notified of cancellations, courses will meet as scheduled.
What are the student conduct expectations?
Regular school year rules will be enforced during the summer program. Students are expected to go home when their
instructional session has ended. A pattern of student misbehavior will result in dismissal from the summer school
