Follow Ashley as she gets veneers

Although Ashley had pretty teeth and healthy gums, after getting her braces off she wanted a smile that was brighter and closer to perfect. She chose to have eight of her top teeth veneered.

Dr. Lamberton determined Ashley would be a great candidate for veneers. Ashley agreed to let us document her story to show how easy and rewarding the process of getting veneers can be.

First, what are porcelain veneers? Porcelain veneers, or laminates,

are ultra-thin porcelain coverings — like a fine teacup — that are bonded to your teeth. They mask imperfections, such as discoloring or damage, and give you sparkling white, perfectly even teeth.

Though they look fragile, veneers are strong and durable and will last for many, many years.

Because porcelain veneers are translucent, they look like natural teeth.

To ensure Ashley would get the highest-quality veneers,

Dr. Lamberton worked with the Payne Dental Lab in San Clemente, California.

“The right lab is important,”

Ashley says. “Dr. Lamberton is the artist, designing the way the teeth are going to fit and look, and the lab makes the veneers to his specifications.”

Dr. Lamberton made models of Ashley’s teeth and sent them to the Payne lab.

Payne discussed the plan for Ashley’s veneers. How Ashley’s teeth will function is the most important consideration.

Ashley gets a plastic preview

Though most patients don’t visit the lab, Ashley did. While there, she got a preview of her new look in a solid plastic model. Her real veneers will be attached to her individual teeth, allowing her to floss and brush normally. They’ll also be translucent, like tooth enamel.

And they will be whiter.

Ashley requested “really white” teeth.
