Academy offers opportunities tochallenge your limits. Considerattending one week inJune atthe U.S. Naval Academy Summer
Seminar (NASS) for rising highschool seniors.
Tis fast-paced, six-dayexperience will take you beyondanything you have ever donebefore. NASS participants willexperience all aspects of the Naval
Academy including the academicprogram and midshipmen life.Furthermore, participants willreceived an overview of Navy andMarine Corps service options. Ifyou think you are interested inpursuing an appointment to one ofthe nations service academies and
serving your country as an officer,you should seriously considerattending NASS. You will become part of the
Academy. You will live in BancroftHall (the one dormitory at USNA),
eat in the dining room, participatein the academic and leadership
workshops and experience a varietyof other activities on the campus.
Selection Interested students should
visitwww.usna.edu/admissions/NASSfor specific applicationdates application opens shortlyafter January 1 for students in their
junior year. Selection is based inlarge part on ensuing geographicrepresentation along with overallaccomplishments in and out of the
classroom. Due to the limitedspace available in each session,many interested young menand women are not selected toparticipate in NASS. Students
who are not selected are strongly
encouraged to continue the USNAapplication process.
Tuition and Travel Expenses Te tuition is $400*, whichpays for your room and board, as
well as a variety of materials. Plan
on bringing extra cash for snacksand souvenirs. Each student is responsiblefor arranging transportation toand from the Naval Academy.Tose flying commercial air shouldmake arrangements to arrive atand from Baltimore-WashingtonInternational airport (BWI).

Te United States Naval
Academy focuses on four areasduring the Summer SEMProgram: Science, echnology,Engineering and Mathematics.Tis program held in June isdesigned to encourage rising8th-11th graders to pursue acourse of study in engineering and
technology throughout high schooland college.
Selection
Interested students shouldvisitwww.usna.edu/admissions/stemfor a specific applicationopening date in January.Selection is based on studentaccomplishments both inside andoutside of the classroom as wellas our geographic requirement tobring students from all over thecountry.
Why STEM?
You will work in world-classlab facilities that provide a uniquelearning environment outside thetraditional classroom. You willexperience real-life application
of math and science principlesthrough hands-on practicallearning.
Tuition and Travel Expenses
Te tuition to attend the
camp is $350*, which coversroom and board as well ascamp materials. Students areresponsible for arranging theirown transportation to Baltimore-
Washington International Airport.ransportation to and from BWIis provided by USNA. Students
should also plan to bring spendingmoney for snacks and souvenirs.*Some scholarships are available ona financial needs basis.
