REDSTER IS ABOUT SPEED AND PERFORMANCELike last year we’re offering our famous Redster Worldcup skis and Worldcup boots worn by our athletes. But the news for 2015-16 is that we’ll also be offering a new ski variant – Redster Performance skis. These are skis still packed with the same racing DNA and in the same Atomic racing colors. But it’s just a bit more easy going and forgiving. We’ve also updated the Redster Skate and Classic boots to go with it. An awesome new set up for serious cross-country skiers.

Putting a sidewall on a cross-country ski helps with steering and power transmission. We have two different sidewalls that feature on our high-performance Redster skis:

At the core of every ski are the materials that determine how it behaves. We have two different core materials we use in our range:

NOMEXAn ultra-lightweight material originally used in aerospace. It’s structured like a honeycomb for strength, resilience and liveliness. We also use it in combination with Densolite.

DENSOLITELight, stable and tough. Densolite is produced in Atomic’s own facilities and comes in three variations: Densolite, High Densolite and Ultra High Densolite. They’re all equally tough, but the High and Ultra High versions are lighter and more dynamic.

START WITH THE FIT

FIT

If you’re skiing long distances then an average fit is just not an option. Across our Race, Sport and Touring ranges we’ve got a fit for every footshape. On top of that we load our boots with extra technology like Live Fit and Custom Fit for an instantly personalized fit, and high-performing lacing systems like the unique Boa Closure System.

COMFORT

Boots can make or break a day, so we’re always looking for ways to make our boots more comfortable. We’ve added 3M™ Thinsulate™ to keep feet warm, softshell material and seamless bonding to keep them dry, and Quicklace closure to make stepping in and out easy. We want wearing our boots to be a pleasure, not a pain.

PERFORMANCE

Performance means different things for different disciplines. In Skating a good race boot needs lateral stiffness, but flexibility to move forwards and backwards. So we use a carbon chassis for extra stability and a carbon outsole for good stiffness. On the other hand, for the Classic track you need a Classic flex – which is why we use special Classic Race outsoles.
