READY GOLFThe basic elements of READY-GOLF are as follows, and are recommended for use when safe to do so: 1. On the tee: The player who is ready should hit; regardless of “honors”. 2. Tee to green: Take appropriate clubs when approaching your ball; be ready to hit when it
is your turn. When driving a cart, drop your partner at his/her ball, then continue to yours; be conscious of the 5 minute lost-ball rule.
3. If the player who is “away” is delayed, other players who are ready should hit.4. On the green: Continue putting until holed out unless you would be standing in another’s
putting line. 5. Short cut: Mark your score on the way to next tee. 6. Always: Keep up with the group in front of yours. 7. A good rule-of-thumb: “Your position on the golf course is directly behind the group in front
of you, not directly in front of the group behind you.”
THORGUARD LIGHTNING PROTECTIONThe Lightning Detection System is in place for your safety. Upon hearing one long siren (approximately 15 seconds), which means DANGER is near as lightning is within 5 miles, play is suspended on golf course and players must seek shelter immediately. Upon hearing the three short sirens (approximately 6 seconds each) play is resumed. The Lightning Detection System is a safeguard, but, as an “Act of God” lightning is unpredictable and the Lightning Detection System is not intended to replace the use of prudence and common sense of the individual. The Vanderbilt Community Association is not responsible for personal injuries or property damage resulting from lightning strikes upon the golf course or within the community.
THE TENNIS COURTSVanderbilt Country Club offers 6 Har Tru state of the art Hydro-Grid Clay courts. The courts are illuminated for playing at night. The tennis program has been expanded to include activities for all levels of play from the beginners to the advanced players. The programs offer private and group lessons, clinics, team practices, doubles leagues and round robins.
THE POOLSThe swimming pools and cabana areas are an integral, important feature of the Club facilities. The pool is heated an average temperature of 80 degrees November – May and the spa is heated to an average 104 degrees. Restrooms are available at all pools and are kept locked at the neighborhood pools. Your pool restroom key will open these restrooms. The pool-cabana areas provide overall facilities for social functions such as cookouts and other informal gatherings. All satellite pools have grills available on a first come, first serve basis.

2. The courtesy of providing notice of necessary changes or cancellation to a dinner reservation is requested no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day reserved. Maximum seating is 10 per table. Groups larger than 10 will be seated at separate tables. Dinner reservations will be held for 10 minutes after the reserved time. Requests for specific table location cannot be guaranteed.
3. Special Events Reservations Policy: Reservations are accepted:
• Six (6) weeks in advance for members (limit two persons per household) beginning at 9:00 a.m. (There is one exception for the ladies’ luncheon on January 18, 2016. Reservations for this event will begin on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.);
• Four (4) weeks in advance for members’ guests (limit four persons per household) and;• Two (2) weeks in advance for additional guests, if space is available.• Six (6) weeks in advance for “family holidays” dining for the following events: Easter
Buffet, Thanksgiving Day Buffet and Mother’s Day Buffet. If the first date that reservations can be made falls on a weekend or holiday, refer to
calendar of events for the first date reservations will be accepted, beginning at 9:00am.
Reserved tables will have no more than 10 seats. A member making a group reservation must provide member names and numbers for all in the party. A confirming email will be sent to the member making the group reservation with all members in the party being copied (that being their respective confirmations). Each member so copied is then responsible for their respective reservations.
4. Special Event Cancellation Policy: A cancellation must be received and confirmed by the Reservationist or management staff member at least 72 hours in advance of the start time of the event. If cancellation occurs less than 72 hours before the event, a cancellation fee (the equivalent of 50% of the full price) will be charged. • However, if we are able to fill the reservation from a waiting list, and the event is a
complete sell-out, there will not be a charge if the cancellation is at least 24 hours before the start of an event. A complete sell-out is defined as every seat available for that event has been filled at the time of the event.
• If there is a failure to cancel a reservation (no show) or if the cancellation is less than 24 hours before the start of an event, there will be a charge of 100% of the price per person even if we were able to fill your seats.
5. New Year’s Eve has a unique reservation policy. Reservations for New Year’s Eve begin on the first Tuesday in November. Members must provide the names, member numbers and number of attendees for all members in the group at the time of the reservation. Seats cannot be reserved without a name. Seating requests will be taken, but not guaranteed. Members may add up to two (2) guests, subject to availability, on the first Tuesday in December. The last cancellation date for the New Year’s Eve celebration is the second Friday in December. Any cancellations after that date are subject to the aforementioned cancellation policy fee as explained above in number c) 3.
6. Non-Resident Policy: Dinner reservations will not be accepted from anyone living outside of the VCC community from November through April. However, any visitor may have lunch and/or Sunday breakfast all year round. Reservations for special events will be accepted from non-residents and guests two (2) weeks in advance of the event provided there is space availability and valid credit card information has been provided to the Club.
