We have enjoyed getting to know you during the past 18 years of our involvement in the seed stock business and we truly value the many friendships we have made. With beef cattle numbers at a low, the outlook is very positive for prices to remain strong for many years. Simmental genetics have so much to offer, superior maternal traits and performance to produce heavy weight steers and top end heifers to fill the demand for replacement females. Choosing a herd bull is one of the most important choices a cattleman has to make. A good bull will pay for himself when you sell his first set of calves. A poor bull, and especially if you keep your replacements, will cost you for years. It really pays to buy the best genetics you can. Our sale offering is strong with a very good selection from calving ease to performance. We always introduce new genetics for you utilizing AI with our herd bulls siring the larger groups beginning in the fullblood division with the many times proven Cornerstone sons. Crossroad Nascar and Navigator are both bulls we raised that have excellent sons on offer, the Esposito sons that were so popular at last year’s sale are back and the exciting new Paparazzi sons will also make their debut for 2015. We decided to start our catalogue order with the Cornerstone sired bulls this year. He has done an exceptional job here at Crossroads, leaving moderate frame, a ton of volume, excellent structure and very easy doing cattle. This sire group of bulls are naturally thick, solid coloured and with the pedigree of Regent, Knight Mr. T and Helga 10Y, the females are outstanding. Cornerstone has made a huge impact on our herd and we are pleased to pass on some of these great genetics to you.Pictured on November 20, here is a bull that we feel will go on to follow in his father’s footsteps. Moderate framed in structure, wide based over the top meat bull would best describe him. Cheetah has been admired for his over-all dimension and balance. His mother is a cherry red goggle eyed cow who has developed into one of our elite. Beautifully uddered, stays in great condition and brings a great one home every year. appreciate the udder quality on the Cornerstone females AND can they ever raise a calf ! The maternal side of this bull’s pedigree is also exceptional, they have great udders, good temperament and high fertility. His dam raised a son purchased by Allan Tkachyk from Ashmont, AB. and we have her exceptional Spitfire daughter retained in the herd that is due to calve any day. We have successfully flushed his young dam to our exciting high selling Sibelle Sparta-cus herdsire purchased in Quebec last spring, and we will do her again to our new $40,000 dollar high selling JNR Philosophy bull purchased at the Equation sale in Red Deer in December. Another Cornerstone x Radium combination that is hard to beat. Plenty of eye appeal with his good colour and excellent

hair coat. Ample thickness and good testicle development make this bull an excellent choice for your new herdsire. His young dam’s last year’s Imax son was purchased by Travis Rathgerber at Section 17 Livestock from Melville. He sent an email in the fall saying that he was very happy with the bull and that he looked good after breeding 25 heif-ers. Always nice to hear from a satisfied customer. Thanks Travis! A really stout, deep sided rascal here and he was born an 80 pound twin! His fertile dam is already mothering a new baby, she was one of the first to calve this year. The Cornerstone side of the pedigree really comes through in this guy. Docile, easy doing, deep red package that will go on to sire some very marketable calves.

A real good Full Fleck Optimal son that showcases incredible muscle and power. He is a little short in the ear department, but that certainly

will not affect the awesome calves he will produce. With limited Optimal semen available, we were sure hoping for a superstar female from this mating, instead we are able to offer this genetic package with mega maternal strengths to pass on to his offspring. Over-Drive’s dam and 11 year old grandam are both excellent uddered females. We have one of her daughters working in the herd and Sunville Simmentals from McCreary, MB. purchased a super Rusty son that is siring some of their top end progeny. Good performance, high maternal values and I would guess that most of these Over-Drive calves will be stylish dark red and goggle eyed. Females sired by this bull will be of definite interest.

Here are some outcross genetics with this smooth shouldered yet deep sided Full Fleck bull sired by Hexagon. Born in February and pictured in mid-November, you can certainly appreciate him for his early maturing, dark red stylish profile and it is no mistake that his red goggle eyed Evan 14P mother is bred the same way again. Her last year’s good Colossal son sold to our long-time customers Wayne & Lenore Jessop at Cattle Creek Crossing. If you want to know about the maternal strengths and longevity in this bloodline, you will see Hurricane’s eleven year old good uddered grandam’s name in many pedigrees throughout this catalogue, I guess you could call her a matriarch and she is due to calve again by the end of January. We own the Ranger bull together with our good friends at Little Willow Creek from Frenchman Butte, Sk. and we are very pleased with his calves. At the 2014 Source sale Barry Labatte purchased an exceptional Ranger heifer calf for $13,000. The Ranger progeny are very consistent. They are stout made individuals that exhibit tons of mass, all in an eye appealing package. Rancher was born an 80 pound twin and his excellent uddered mother certainly did a good job raising him. This bull is a very strong individual and it will be hard for you to take your eyes off of him. Rancher is the limits of his daddy, when you get in behind him – it’s all meat. Dr. Jason Gress & his wife Nikki from Vantage Point Farm at Boonsboro, MD have purchased the US semen rights, give them a call if you are from the USA and wanting to use these proven genetics. Over the years our customers have really liked the Radium sons, unfortunately only one was born a bull this year, and he is a good one. Born to a heifer, he has the good qualities that we all look for and of course that Radium style, style, style! Bravo is a calving ease bull and this bull’s mother certainly had no trouble having him. She is a Rusty female with a lot of power and maternal strengths in her stacked pedigree. We feel she will be a future foundation female for us. Helix has a moderate birth weight, good EPD’s with enough performance and adequate testicle development. Be sure to check him out on sale day.

We are certainly pleased with the calves our Homo polled Esposito herdsire is producing. This is our second calf crop, the udders on the heifers that have calved look excellent. Females are very feminine with attractive front ends, good color, hair and body type. Our high seller at the Source sale in December was an Esposito daughter for $14,000 to Virginia Ranch & Randy Ward, another went to Hoegl Livestock for $10,000. Red Willow Ranch purchased another for $8,000 and an open heifer went home with Rafter 4T for $7,000. Here is a super dark red homo polled Esposito son with a lot of eye appeal and good performance. Red Mountain was raised by the Ashworth family. He is an impressive AI sire that we used mostly in the heifer pen. Mountie
