be used to meet the (SA-CE) requirements. AAPM is offering Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs) which allow for interactive learning and self-assessment of knowledge gained during designated sessions, submitted for ABR approval.

Individuals were required to pre-register for an audience response unit (ARU) to be used during the session. You will not be able to register for SAMs onsite. You may go to the SAMs sessions of your choice. During the session, the speaker will ask interactive questions. You will be able to respond using your ARU. The audience feedback will appear in real time on the screen. There is no pass/fail and you will not be graded on your responses.

At the end of the meeting, please return your ARU to the SAMs counter located in the registration area.

The AAPM transfers SAMs Credits to the ABR via the CME Gateway. To confirm attendance, attendees MUST complete the online evaluation for the SAMs session attended.

Partners in Solutions (PinS) offer a new way for physicists to interact with our vendors. Vendors will provide physics-level applications training classes in a special-purpose lecture room built on the exhibit floor. These are not sales pitches but practical information for the clinical physicist from the people who know the systems in depth. CE credit will be offered. Come learn with us!

Dosimetry Check is a patient treatment quality assurance software package that will reconstruct the dose to the patient’s CT’s from measuring the radiation fields that come out of a conventional linac with the EPID or TomoTherapy both during a dry run without the patient and images integrated during treatment (Transit InVivo Dosimetry), for both IMRT and RapidArc/VMAT. The dose is directly compared to the planning system dose including three dimensional gamma analysis.

ViewRay™ Incorporated of Cleveland, Ohio, is a privately held medical device company developing a simultaneous MRI-guided adaptive radiation therapy technology for the treatment of cancer. The ViewRay system provides continuous soft-tissue imaging during treatment, using MRI-guided radiation therapy, so that clinicians are able to see where the actual radiation dose is being delivered and adapt to changes in the patient’s anatomy in real-time.

Vision RT develops revolutionary 3D surface imaging technology for the radiotherapy market. With products such as AlignRT, therapists can monitor the surface image of a patient throughout treatment, ensuring that radiation is delivered accurately and safely. Should a patient move to an extent that might jeopardize their treatment, AlignRT picks up on this by way of real time feedback and alerts the therapist, or, with certain third party interfaces, automatically holds the radiation beam.

Since our founding in 1998, we have been developing Electronic Brachytherapy (eBx) systems that make radiation therapy accessible to a broader spectrum of patients and their physicians. Our Axxent® Electronic Brachytherapy System® uses proprietary, miniaturized X-ray tube technology to apply a therapeutic dose of isotope-free radiation directly to a tumor target. This precision delivery minimizes the risk of radiation exposure to healthy tissue, while reducing the number of treatments required.
