A Letter of Thanks
Our Foundation mission is simple—we are dedicated to providing financial support to enhance the mission of Black Hawk College through partnerships with individuals, businesses, and organizations. In other words, we want to improve life through learning at Black Hawk College through partnerships with YOU!
This year, we were able to form new partnerships and strengthen existing partnerships. We partnered with our community to give back to Black Hawk College students, and we honored those individuals that made it possible for us to do so.
We also reached out to our alumni. You will find the stories of our four new 2015 Alumni Hall of Fame members beginning on page 6. These alumni show outstanding success in their chosen field and inspiring commitment to our community.
On the next page you will see a listing of the members of our Board of Directors—individuals volunteer their time, energy, and resources to help lead this Foundation into a bright future.
Last, but certainly not least, you will also be able to find YOU in this report. A complete listing of our donors begins on page 11. Because, after all, philanthropy is not about the money—it is and always will be about people.
Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Jessica Malcheff Executive Director

Our Special Event
Lane Evans Commemorative EventOn November 3, 2015, the Black Hawk College Foundation hosted an event in honor of former U.S. Representative Lane Evans who passed in November 2014 from complications brought on by the effects of Parkinson’s disease.
Lane was a former Marine who served during the Vietnam War and a Black Hawk College
alumnus. He attended Black Hawk in 1971, 1972, and 1980. Lane was inducted in the Alumni Hall of Fame in 1987. In 2006, he was awarded an honorary Associate of Arts degree from Black Hawk College.
Lane earned his bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and later earned a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. He then practiced law in the Quad-Cities area, serving those in need and veterans in our community. In addition, Lane was a steadfast supporter of Black Hawk College, lifelong learning, and the people in the region.
Because of Lane’s passion for the region and American veterans, the Black Hawk College Foundation donated proceeds from the event to support the Quad City Campus Veterans Resource Center and student scholarships in his name.
During the event, the Veterans Resource Center located at Black Hawk College was dedicated as the ‘Lane Evans Veterans Resource Center’ in honor of his exceptional work for veterans, our region, and the country.
