Foreword

On behalf of European Athletics, I would like to extend, in advance, a very warm welcome to each and every Member Federation and candidate for the 24th European Athletics Congress, to take place in Bled on 11 April.

I have been greatly heartened to see that such a wide selection of candidates have allowed their names to go forward for the election to our Council.

Twenty-two candidates will contest the election for the Council, which, along with the elections for the President and Vice-President, means that about half of our Member Federations will have a candidate in the contest for the top decision making forum at our Athletics Parliament, which is a very welcome development for our democracy.

In total, 24 Member Federations have put candidates forward for positions and the calibre of candidates speaks for itself, combining some very experienced and successful officials with a number of former star athletes, and I am very confident that there is the right mix of people to take the sport to the next level for the next four-year period.

European Athletics presents to you in this booklet Curriculum Vitae of all the candidates for election, which I believe provides equal treatment to all our candidates and very useful information for the voters.
