At HiViz LED Lighting, our development team works side by side with the men and women of the fire and emergency service; many of them firefighters themselves. We’ve been there on those wrecks where the road gets shutdown for hours, and experienced those situations where we can’t see to do our job. A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDERThank you for your interest in FireTech solutions by HiViz LED Lighting!

When I began working in the Fire/Rescue/EMS field, I noticed a distinct need for improved quality of light on our rescue scenes. I started HiViz LED Lighting with the goal to revolutionize the way the Fire and Emergency Services personnel do their jobs after dark.

HiViz LED Lighting is dedicated to developing the most innovative, highest quality, LED lighting solutions on the market. Our products range from the flagship 72” low profile LED brow lights, to small compartment lights, and everything in between. Unlike other manufacturers, our focus lays exclusively in forward-facing visible LED lighting products. This allows a specialists approach designing the ultimate lighting solution.

Photometric Isolux Beam Pattern

Lights are tested in a photometric machine to model the beam pattern and

certify the overall light output.

Vibration10GRMS Rating

Products are placed on the vibration shock table with a vibration range of 25.6G for 4 hours to test that they can

withstand the rated vibration standard.

IngressHigh Pressure IP69K

Products are sprayed from close distances with 80~100 BAR water pressure to verify the Ingress Protection rating, ensuring they are sealed properly.

Long Term Durability

Products are then switched on and off 20,000 times repeatedly to ensure that

they remain functional after all testing.

Thermal Impact Rapid Temperature Change

Products are placed in a -40°C for 30 minutes, and then placed in a 80°C chamber for an additional 30 minutes. Products are then ran for 72 hours to

ensure full operational status.

High Temperature & High Humidity Operational

Products are placed in a 60°C, 94% humidity chamber and left operational for 72 hours. Afterwards, products are inspected for moisture, water drops, damaged LEDs, flicking LEDs, and more.

LumenLumens measure the output of a light at the source. Raw Lumens account for the rated output of the LED by the LED manufacturer. This number is typically a calculation. By contrast, the Effective Lumens rating accounts for thermal, optical, and circuitry losses which reduce total output and is measured.

In 2016, The latest revision to the NFPA 1901 Guideline (19.18.6) will become effective. These changes will define how light fixtures rated in Lumens are to be measured. It will require manufacturers to make their test data avaliable in order for their fixtures to be considered ”compliant.” Isolux and Photometric test data is available from HiViz LED Lighting, and both our RAW and EFFECTIVE lumen figures are outlined throughout this publication.

LuxLux measures the amount of light per square meter. Unlike lumens which measures light at the source, lux is measured at a specific point. This helps better determine whether those effective lumens are lighting up the environment with the necessary light.

Measuring LuxOn FireTech lux charts, the different colors within a light’s beam on the lux chart correlates to a different lux level at that distance from the source, according to the colors shown.

STREAMLINED LOOK AND FEELInstalling a FireTech Brow light reduces clutter on the front of your apparatus cab. The FireTech Brow light with integrated marker lights replaces 5 roof mounted DOT markers and 2 traditional brow lights, acting as a 7 in 1 upgrade to clean up the front of your cab. The entire product is manufactured using our extremely durable extruded aluminum housing helping ensure your investment of taxpayer dollars services your community for many years to come.

SPLIT CIRCUITSBy splitting the FireTech Brow Light in to 3 circuits, the Engineer has the ability to precisely control what areas of the fire scene are illuminated. Imagine you’re on a 2 or 4 lane road at the scene of a wreck. Patient care is complete, you’re just waiting for the tow truck to get the car off the road. With the FireTech brow light, you can shut off the sections of the light that are shining in oncoming traffic’s eyes, helping to increase the margin of safety on your scene.

PRIME DRIVEPrime Drive enables enhanced reliability and output by utilizing more efficient circuitry and the use of electronic thermal management. Electronic Thermal Management works to prolong the life of the LED through Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Prime Drive also gives you the capability to dim the LED using an external controller. PWM flashes the LED faster than the human eye can detect in order to reduce heat.

STRENGTH AND DURABILITYFeaturing Die-Cast Aluminum housings, LED Lights from FireTech stand up to adverse environmental conditions. Engineered with a special sealing system combined with the strength of the aluminum housing, all FireTech LED Lights achieve an minimum IP-68 rating, signifying that they are particulate (dust and road debris) proof, as well as water resistant up to 3 meters.

Extruded Technology

Based on an extrusion, the size of the brow light is totally up to you. HiViz LED Lighting manufactures models from 5” to 72” wide, and in configurations of 1, 2 or 4 rows of LEDs high. The sky is the limit with the FireTech Brow Light.

Precision Optics

Every 5 watt LED in a FireTech brow light is coupled with an optic collimator to produce a highly efficient beam of light. We chose to use individual optics so that EACH LED is maximizing its light-on-target for the intend area of its design.

FIRETECH WORK LIGHTS AND THE NFPA 1901 STANDARD (13.10.1-3 AND 18.6.1)

NFPA 1901 Chapter 13, Section 10 outlines illumination requirements for work lighting used on Fire Apparatus. All work surfaces, steps, and walkways, as well as any area within 30” in an entry or exit point of an apparatus must be illuminated to a minimum of 2 footcandles. The work area immediately behind the vehicle, as well as the hose bed (if provided), is to be illuminated to a minimum of 3 footcandles. Through advanced IES renderings, HiViz LED Lighting is able to provide accurate compliance statements for virtually any Fire Service application. Additionally, in 2016, the requirements for Ariel Devices will require manufacturers to make available Photometric Compliance testing documentation. BUILT IN HIDEAWAYExclusively for the Emergency Services Market, the FireTech 7” Round head light can be equipped with an extremely bright LED halo ring that acts like an integrated version of the traditional “hideaway strobe” tube. The ring is powered independently from the headlight and can be connected to an optional flash module for combination Emergency Warning and standard DOT head lamps.
