School Nutrition Managers – Building a Healthy Future! Most training sessions will be presented by GaDOE-SNP state staff and will include:
NEW! Smarter LunchroomsThe Healthy School Meal Patterns (Lunch and Breakfast)Meal Counting Responsibilities for ManagersFood Production Records and the Food Buying GuideSending Positive Messages in School Nutrition, and MORE!
This timely training will be held on:
February 10-11, at Lake Blackshear Resort, just outside Cordele, and February 24-25, at Classic Center, Athens, and
March 18-19, Unicoi State Park, in Helen. Managers will have an opportunity to earn Advanced TID Course credit in conjunction with attendance at the GaDOE School Nutrition Managers’ Conference 2015. The Conference will be ten (10) hours of on-site training in Cordele, Athens or Helen. To earn TID (30 hours) credit, four projects, based on the conference training sessions, must be completed after returning to their schools. The supervisor should review the “homework projects” and sign-off for a Course Completion Certificate. Registrations of first-time Classified Manager I’s and II’s registrations will be accepted first, due to Advanced TID course (TID 11g#) credit. If space allows, Classified Manager Trainees will be accepted. Due to space limitations, only two (2) Classified Managers per system will be accepted.
Note: This TID course credit will not count toward completion of Core TID courses required in the first five years of employment. NEW for 2015! We know training budgets continue to be tight, so GaDOE-SNP is again in-
cluding two (2) nights of lodging at Lake Blackshear Resort (February 9-10) and at the Holiday Inn Express, Athens (February 23-24), and Unicoi State Park (March 17-18). The registration fee is only $30 per person and includes two breakfasts, one lunch, and two nights of lodging. We will also be promoting all the OrganWise Guys™ resources that have been placed in elementary and middle school media centers and in cafeterias.
