Counselor Training programs
Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program will help participants develop lifelong work habits, identify and achieve individual goals and build skills to lead children. CITs will work and train under the current counselors in charge. Participants will learn First Aid, CPR, group and time management and a variety of program skills through first-hand experience with campers of different ages. CITs will also learn how to create their own resume and participate in a mock job interview experience.
Attendance is required for the entire two-week session.
The CIT Field Experience is an additional week or two following Session I of the CIT Training course. During these weeks CITs can choose which camp they would like to continue to work with for additional time in the field. No additional training will occur during the Field Experience.
Our Junior Counselor program allows boys and girls entering Grades 10 and 11, who are not yet eligible to work at camp, a supervised experience working with children. Junior Counselors will work under Head Counselors in the age group of their choice. They can choose to work one week or all six weeks.
