National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University (based at the prestigious China Center for Economic Research, CCER), the parent institution of BiMBA, was founded by Prof. Justin Yifu Lin (former Chief Economist and Senior VP, World Bank) in 1994, and committed to comprehensive and interdisciplinary studies in social sciences and training well-rounded talents for the nation. The NSD and CCER have played a key role in China’s social and economic reform during the past twenty years and have earned a reputation

THIS IS PEKING UNIVERSITYFounded in 1898, Peking University is the successor of the supreme imperial university and precursor of modern Chinese university. It is also the most prestigious institution of higher education with a glorious history and esteemed cultural tradition that extends over a century. Peking University stood at the centor of China's New Culture Movement, formed as the cradle of the May 4th Movement, and was the birthplace of modern ideas of democracy and science in China in the early 1900s. Peking University has contributed greatly to the impetus and development

One of the most important resources of a world-class business school is the professors who teach the programs. The faculty of our MBA program is drawn from business schools around the world – 25% from the United States, 25% from Europe, and 50% from China. Internationalization is in the vein of BiMBA. Our founding institution, National School of Development, is the only school at Peking University where all the faculty members received their PhDs from leading universities abroad. Besides, as a top think tank in China, NSD’s faculty bring their understandings of China’s future development to the MBA class.

The teaching faculty at BiMBA is chosen based on several important criteria. In the first place, they must have good credentials. All of our faculty members hold a PhD from a leading university (such as Harvard University, University of Chicago,

Thirdly, they have to be experts in their respective field both academically and practically, which means they should be not only savvy with the theoretical knowledge in their own fields but also be able to apply the knowledge to real managerial issues faced by organizations. Fourthly, they have to have a very appealing teaching style that enables them to engage the students in the learning process, helping each member of the class rise to his or her potentials.

Instead of following the traditional lecturing method, professors at BiMBA adopt a variety of teaching methodologies, such as case study and experimental learning, to facilitate students’ learning process and create a deep engagement between professors and students.

THE TEACHING FACULTY“I had my college degree at UCLA in US and operated my own business in Taiwan after graduation. I chose BiMBA, China as my MBA destination because of the market. BiMBA has very rich faculty from all over the world, from US, Europe, which can meet my requirements. I don’t have to go to US, and still have access to a world-class MBA.”

“The roundtable conference held by NSD professors is one of my most memorable moments in my BiMBA life. Scholars that understand the complexities of China, be it in economics, politics and social structure, gather at the National School of Development, a place that has the reputation to gather elites in respective fields into the same venue to talk about -the future decade of China, a topic that attracts attention from all over the world. The most exciting thing about this conference is you get the chance to hear top economists in China to discuss and debate about hot issues about the future ten years of China. One really can get some insights about China from professors in Peking University where, would you find a better place than BiMBA?”

Only in PKU can you be immersed in so many lectures and discussions of high qualities in various topics.

More than simply providing students with a world-standard MBA, BiMBA aims to provide professionals not only with international business theories and practices, but also with knowledge, vision and entrepreneurial spirit. The curriculum focuses on developing students’ core management skills, application of advanced management theory in Chinese situations, understanding of China’s economy and business practices, and a wider range of skills related to different areas.

In 2015, BiMBA made new adaptations to its curriculum to make it more state-of-the-art, more China-related and at the same time more global. Besides a rigorous general management curriculum, more electives will be offered and BiMBA will introduce electives on trendy topics, such as Big Data.

On top of this newly designed curriculum, we offer three lecture series to go along with the MBA courses: National Development Lecture Series, Knowing and Doing Lecture Series, and Humanities and Social Sciences Lecture Series. Through these lectures, students will be able to meet with executives and practitioners from various industries, successful entrepreneurs, prestigious economists from both NSD and other top schools, and policy makers.

To increase students international exposure, we offered an international study trip to Silicon Valley, and in addition to that two second degree programs, MSGF program in cooperation with Fordham University and GREM program in cooperation with University of Wisconsin, Madison.

An MBA is an investment of time and money. The longer you stay out of the job market, the higher the opportunity cost. The faster you get back to the job market, the sooner you will get return on your investment. In 15 months, BiMBA's full-time program will prepare you to get back to the job market in much better shape.

BiMBA's curriculum is not the typical semester long one. All core courses are completed in a definite time period. This allows for complete immersion one subject at a time, recruiting visiting professors from foreign universities to teach in Beijing, and flexibility to skip a course in case you get busy with professional opportunities, without having to skip the whole semester.

You might find a job after you started a full-time MBA program, or you might quit your job after you started a part-time MBA program. For all these dynamic changes that can happen nowadays, at BiMBA you are able to move from full-time to part-time and vice-versa, as life presents you with challenges and opportunities.

Other than enriching your MBA learning experience by providing various electives, you can choose to pursue a second master degree during or after your MBA, which provides fully structured components to prepare you with an edge in your future career.

The full-time MBA is a three-semester program with two vacations. During the summer vacation, students can choose among internship, going to New York to take advanced finance courses to complete their second degree (Master of Science in Global Finance), visiting Silicon Valley on a study trip, and business consulting projects (ICP).

After the summer vacation, they need to take a few other courses while the most important tasks in this semester are placement and ICP. Leading companies come to the BiMBA campus to meet and talk with students, identify the most

talented people and offer them the best career opportunities.

BiMBA’s full-time MBA students are a group with diverse backgrounds, multiple perspectives and great potential. They join BiMBA for career change or advancement as well as business knowledge.

DIVERSE & PROMISINGFULL-TIME MBA

“I walked out of BiMBA without fear. With the new tools I acquired from professors and friends I made,I took on something I have never done before – real estate development. Whenever I encounter problems, I just have to call classmates and they can give me unbiased suggestions. Classmates even flew down to Guangdong to give me guidance on the land I am developing. With the handful of students carefully selected from thousands of applicants each year, the network one can leverage at BiMBA is of high quality. The connection you can build is not limited to just your current classmates, but it goes on to: friend of classmates, spouses, relatives, colleagues, bosses, and previous and future MBA and EMBA students. Just last week, through the connection made during MBA, I was able to meet with general managers of world-class consulting firms, banks, and real estate developers. They are the people I could not have touched so quickly and so directly without going through BiMBA. ”
