How to Set Up Google Print on YourChromebookBy Kenneth Butler, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer | Apr 9, 2013 01:06 PM EDT
Paper is going the way of the DVD, but you still need to print out the occasional work document, digital concert ticket
or online form. With your Chromebook, wireless printing to a networkattached or cloudreadyprinter is just a matter of switching on a few settings, thanks to the Chrome Web browser andGoogle Cloud Print. This Webbased interface connects to the desk printer at home and theexecutive laser printer at work — and lets you choose which device prints the file. Your printing— no matter how seldom — gets done fast and easy. Here’s how to set it up.
Set Up a Classic Network-Attached Printer If your printer is connected to your computer via USB or a local access network, these are theinstructions you’ll need to set up access via Google Print.
1. Launch Google Chrome on the computer attached to the same network as the printer. Make sure you are
signed into your Google account within Chrome.

Thanks but no help it all… Basically the same thing the google chromebook says andit doesnt work. I have an HP all in 2542 wireless network printer using the same WiFiand internet connection through my Verizon Fios… When I click “Add traditionalprinter” it takes me back to the same screen with the dumb instructions to add classicprinter . My screen does not auto change or detect the printer even when I plugged itusing the USB cable !!!! This was the worst investment ever!! I shouldve known theprice was too good. If I wanted a google tablet I would have bought the samsunggalaxy tablet 3. This chromebook would be great for my 10 year old to play games, music and social network but for an adult student this is CRAP.. a joke… I cannotprint… If I wanted to drive all the way to Kinkos/FedEx to eprint I wouldve saved my$250 and just used their PC too… This product sucks, dont spend your money !

I am planning to buy a chrome book. I have a HP F4488 deskjet printer (connects byUSB only). I do NOT have any other device to install or configure cloud print. But, Ihave a DSL modem with a USB port. With the above set up is it worth buying thechrome book?? I need to print occasionally.

I just purchased a Samsung M2020W Cloud compatible printer that works with myChrome computers, BUT not in Duplex mode. The Duplex option is not on the menu!Samsung support tells me that Duiplex option is NOT available on Google Cloud Printutility, but I see it in this article! Should I upgrade my Google Cloud Print utility?

I made the mistake of buying an acer chrome laptop.
It works ok except the stupid machine will not print to my Canon MP100 printer eitherthrough Wi‑Fi or USB connection.
What halfwit decided not tu have a standard print function?

I have wasted hours of my life trying to get my Samsung Chrome to send files to my(non‑cloud) printer. I’ve followed all the instructions and it all seemed to work. Then, all I can do is to SAVE the file on Google Drive, but the bloody thing will not PRINT. Asodding nightmare. I notice that people on this site were reporting the same problem2 years ago. It has not been fixed as far as I can tell.

DO NOT BUY A CHROMEBOOK. IT IS VERY DIFFICUILT TO GET IT TO PRINT, IN THEFIRST PLACE YOUR PRINTER MUST BE WIRELESS,
