2015 Student of the Year Nomination form Eligibility To be eligible for consideration the nominee must be a current full-time student (undergraduate, postgraduate, domestic or international) of any discipline at The Australian National University. The student must have been enrolled for at least two semesters. The nominee can have graduated in July 2014 or be eligible to graduate in December 2014. The selection panel reserves the right to present two awards for the Student of the Year category – one for Postgraduate Student of the Year and one for Undergraduate Student of the Year. Who can make a nomination? Nominations in all categories can be made by an ANU alumnus, ANU staff member, current ANU student or a member of the public. Self-nomination is not allowed. 2015 Student of the Year Nomination form

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration the nominee must be a current full-time student (undergraduate, postgraduate, domestic or international) of any discipline at The Australian National University. The student must have been enrolled for at least two semesters. The nominee can have graduated in July 2014 or be eligible to graduate in December 2014. The selection panel reserves the right to present two awards for the Student of the Year category – one for Postgraduate Student of the Year and one for Undergraduate Student of the Year.

Who can make a nomination?

Nominations in all categories can be made by an ANU alumnus, ANU staff member, current ANU student or a member of the public. Self-nomination is not allowed.

Nomination requirements checklist

Conditions of nomination

> Nominations must be received by midnight (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on 31 October 2014. Late nominations will not be accepted.

> Alumni can only be nominated in one award category in the same year. > The selection panel reserves the right to relocate nominations between categories based

on the field of nominees. > Nomination forms and supporting documentation must be completed and submitted in

English. > Previously nominated alumni who were unsuccessful in winning an award may be re-

nominated. > Award recipients and nominees may be acknowledged in media publications.

Presentation of award

> 2015 ANU Alumni Award recipients will be announced on 2 February 2015. > The 2015 Student of the Year will be awarded at the ANU Alumni Awards Gala Dinner on

Saturday 28 March 2015. > If recipients cannot attend the Awards Dinner, the University will endeavour to make

alternative arrangements for presentation and celebration of their achievements. > The selection committee’s decision is final. Feedback on nominations will not be given.

Selection criteria (Please respond to the selection criteria in a word document and submit with the nomination)

In no more than 1,000 words, please explain why you think the nominee should be recognised as the 2015 Student of the Year. In doing so please address the following in a word document submitted with the nomination:

1. Evidence of significant contribution to the University community through leadership oncommittees, peer assistance or mentoring or sporting excellence. How does the nomineestand out in the University community?

2. Evidence of volunteer or charitable work to the local, national or international communitywhilst enrolled as an ANU student.

3. What are the academic achievements of the nominee?
