  • MARCH 22, 2015

  • Welcome! We are glad youre here! We invite you to seek out the folks wearing the Ask Me badge. Through them you will find information about the ministries of Salem Heights Church and how to become involved. Please fill out a Visitor Card and drop it in one of the offering boxes as you leave or scan this code to go directly to our website and fill out a visitor card. We have an excellent nursery and programs for children newborn through high school. Any of the ushers will be happy to direct you to the proper classroom. If you feel more comfortable having your infant with you during the service, the last row in the Auditorium will be reserved for parents with small children. There is a private room for nursing mothers across the hall from the Auditorium with a rocking chair, changing table and portable crib. For your convenience, it also includes a monitor to enable you to still hear and view the service.

    Our Purpose...

To reach people with the love of Jesus Christ, provide a safe and

supportive environment, proclaim the standards of Gods truth,

  • Giving Update

THE MINISTRY OF SALEM HEIGHTS CHURCH The ministry of Salem Heights Church is funded entirely by the generous giving of Gods people. You will notice that we do not pass the offering plate; however, there are offering boxes in the back of the auditorium. We have done this so no one gives out of compulsion. We believe from the Word of God that the Spirit of God will lead people towards giving back to God of their first fruits. ...God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7) and we know He blesses those who take His Word seriously in every regard. Thank you for prayerfully supporting Salem Heights financially as we desire to reach the lost and disciple the Saints.

  • LUKE Part 21

    Luke 5:12-16

    Cleansed, the Correct Word

    Presented by

    Pastor Matt MacCollin

    March 29, 2015

Jesus worked miracles. Throughout the gospel accounts we see

that Jesus defied natural laws. He changed water into wine. He

walked on water. He calmed violent storms, and He even took

a boat full of men over three miles in a split second. All to say,

Jesus could manipulate matter. Jesus fed thousands from five

    loaves and two fish!

Jesus worked miracles, as Jesus also knew what people were

thinking. From His own disciples, to Pharisees who were thinking

negative or hateful things, Jesus could call them out for their

specific thoughts. Jesus knew things He shouldnt know.

Nathan was convinced of His deity because Jesus proclaimed

that He saw Nathan sitting under the fig tree. What? It blew

Nathans mind. Well get to ask why, when we see him in

    heaven.

  • Jesus worked miracles, for Jesus also healed many people of all

kinds of illnesses. He healed a noblemans son while a great

distance away. He healed Peters mother-in-law close by.

Jesus healed a woman who had been hemorrhaging for twelve

years, a man lame for thirty-eight years, and He gave sight to a

man blind from birth. You see, the amount of time someone

was afflicted did not hinder Jesus one bit. He healed them

completely because Jesus worked miracles, as fully God.

This morning we will look at just a few verses in Luke that speak

to yet another miracle. But in this miracle, a man is not just

healed. He is cleansed. He is made pure. Its a miracle just like

the others, but this miracle, today, is there for you and me.

    REVIEW

Luke is writing to Theophilus so that he may know the exact truth about Christ (Luke 1:1-4).

In Nazareth, Jesus had brought up a leper named Naaman. The result was anger from the crowd (2 Kings 5:1-27; Luke

    4:27-30).

Leprosy is addressed in the Law of Moses in the book of Leviticus (Leviticus 13, 14).

The Jews regarded leprosy as the stroke of God. To them it was a picture of sin.

  • THE LEPROUS MANS APPROACH TO JESUS

Jesus had just preached the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 8:1).

It was against the Law for a leprous man to be in the city (Leviticus 13:45, 46).

The man fell on his face before Jesus. This was humility.

The leprous man had faith. He believed.

    THE RESPONSE OF JESUS

    I am willing; be cleansed.

Jesus had just proclaimed that He came to fulfill the Law (Matthew 5:17-20).

    Jesus touched the untouchable.

Jesus accomplished what the Law could never do. He fully cleaned a person.

  • THE CLEANSED MANS TESTIMONY

Show yourself to the priest and make an offering as Moses commanded.

The cleansed man had to go through the requirements of the Law as a testimony.

The priest would have had his mind blown (Leviticus 14).

    HOW THIS APPLIES TO YOU

Do you recognize anything in your life that you need Jesus to cleanse?

Jesus is willing. Jesus works miracles. Be clean.

Believers are free from the Law and produce that which there is no law against (Galatians 5:18-23).
