Come watch reels on wheels. Created and curated by teens, the films will be on view for one day only in Midtown during Miami Art Week. PTAC put out a national call for filmmakers between the ages of 13-19 years old to discover what inspires and drives teens across the nation. SHORTS! is a sampling of thoughtful and original teen voices that shift preconceived notions of what young artists are capable of. Event is located at Superfine! Exhibitions on view: Julio Le Parc: Form into Action November 18, 2016–March 26, 2017 Julio Le Parc: Form into Action is the artist’s first solo museum exhibition in North America, and features more than 100 works produced between 1958 and 2013. The exhibition highlights how the artist, a central and influential figure in participatory Kinetic art, sought to “demystify” art by breaking down barriers between artwork, viewer and museum. Julio Le Parc: Form into Action is organized by Guest Curator Estrellita B. Brodsky. It is coordinated at PAMM by Chief Curator Tobias Ostrander with the support of Curatorial Assistant Jennifer Inacio. Yamil Le Parc serves as Artistic Advisor on the project. Routes of Influence June 18, 2016–July 18, 2017 Routes of Influence consists of six thematic presentations of works from the permanent collection, positioned within two galleries on the first floor and four galleries on the second floor. These Overview Galleries form a conceptual spine running through the building, continually placing collection works in visual dialogue with the exhibitions and projects presented in the museum’s additional galleries. Sarah Oppenheimer: S-281913 September 30, 2016–April 30, 2017 Bridging art, architecture, cognitive science, and philosophy, Sarah Oppenheimer (b. 1972, Austin; lives in New York) generates striking perceptual effects through modifications to the gallery environment. With S-281913, Oppenheimer’s newly commissioned project for Pérez Art Museum Miami, the artist intensifies the sensorial dynamics of PAMM’s unique architecture. Sarah Oppenheimer: S-281913 is commissioned by Pérez Art Museum Miami and organized by PAMM Curator René Morales. This exhibition is presented by JP Morgan Chase & Co with additional support from Funding Arts Network and FENDI. Susan Hiller: Lost and Found October 14, 2016–June 4, 2017 Susan Hiller (b. 1940, Tallahassee, FL; lives in London) is an influential pioneer of multimedia installation art recognized for her early adoption of video as an artistic medium and for her ability to transform conventional gallery spaces into haunting, immersive environments. Commissioned by Pérez Art Museum Miami and making its debut in this exhibition, Hiller’s video Lost and Found features an audio collage of voices speaking in 23 different languages, including Aramaic, Comanche, Livonian and other extinct or endangered idioms. Susan Hiller: Lost and Found is organized by Pérez Art Museum Miami Curator René Morales and presented by Vhernier.

Carlos Motta: Histories for the Future July 15, 2016–January 15, 2017 Attempting to provide counter narratives that shed light on the dynamics of contemporary forms of social oppression, Carlos Motta (b. 1978, Bogota, Colombia; lives in New York) is a multidisciplinary artist that explores the discourses of sexuality, gender, identity, and minority culture in his works to challenge dominant histories. These works present the nuances of homosexuality and gender in ethnic groups prior to the arrival of the Europeans, and how these local practices and roles changed after the establishment of Western doctrines. Motta’s works reconsider the conquest of the New World offering a new cartography that takes into account alternative histories. Carlos Motta: Histories for the Future is organized by Pérez Art Museum Miami Assistant Curator María Elena Ortiz. Support is provided by Knight Foundation.

Matthew Ronay: When Two Are In One March 10, 2016–January 15, 2017 Matthew Ronay produced a new installation for Pérez Art Museum Miami’s Patricia Papper Project Gallery adjacent to the museum’s main entrance. Best known for his sculptural work, Ronay creates beautifully crafted objects from wood, fabric, and clay, which range in scale from small free-standing and wall-based sculptures to immersive installations. Matthew Ronay: When Two Are In One is organized by Pérez Art Museum Miami Associate Curator Diana Nawi. This exhibition is presented by Brickell Bank, Member FDIC with additional support provided by Knight Foundation and Podhurst Orseck P. A. Individual support provided by Dorothy and Aaron Podhurst and Rajendra and Padma Vattikuti is also gratefully acknowledged.

SUPERFLEX: Kwassa Kwassa October 21, 2016–April 23, 2017 This exhibition presents Kwassa Kwassa (2015), a film created by the Danish artist collective, SUPERFLEX. Focusing on small, handmade fishing boats—the kwassa kwassa of the title, which translates to “unstable boat,” their construction, and the voyages they enable, the film is a visual meditation on migration, economy, citizenship, and history. It takes as its subject the Comoro Islands, an archipelago in the Mozambique Channel off the southeastern coast of Africa, comprised of islands that are both independent and under French rule. SUPERFLEX: Kwassa Kwassa is organized by Pérez Art Museum Miami Associate Curator Diana Nawi. This exhibition is presented by Bank of America and Swatch with support provided by Knight Foundation. "Kwassa Kwassa" was commissioned by Beaufort Beyond Borders 2015 and Marrakech Biennale 6, and supported by Danish Art Council.

Ulla von Brandenburg: It Has a Golden Sun and an Elderly Grey Moon November 4, 2016–June 25, 2017 Alluding to diverse histories rooted in Western traditions, Ulla von Brandenburg (b. 1974, Karlsruhe, Germany; lives in Paris) makes films, drawings, performances, wall paintings, and installations to create multilayered narratives. At PAMM, the artist produced a large-scale installation at the museum’s double height project gallery. Ulla von Brandenburg: It Has a Golden Sun and an Elderly Grey Moon is organized by Pérez Art Museum Miami Assistant Curator María Elena Ortiz and is presented by Chloé with support provided by Knight Foundation.

Jillian Mayer: Slumpies November 25, 2016–January 22, 2017 Jillian Mayer’s Slumpies are a body of sculptures that function as utilitarian objects. Presented on PAMM’s outdoor terrace as well as in the Vattikuti Learning Theater on the museum’s first floor, Mayer’s works are interactive and invite viewers to use them—sitting, reclining, or lying on them in order to best engage their phones and the virtual universes they allow us to access.
