Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the first printing of our catalogue in 2016! I hope the year has treated you well to date and that it brings you both abundance and joy as it progresses.

For us, 2016 is all about new beginnings and stretching our wings. You may have noticed our new logo on the cover of the catalogue. It’s a fresh, updated aesthetic for our brand, reflecting not only our new name (we now have an ‘s’ on the end of our name – World Organics), but our optimism for the future and our belief that we have a role to play on the global stage, as part of the movement towards a more sustainable, healthier, organic world.

We’re really excited about our new visual direction, which we intend to roll out over time. For the moment though, if you want to get a feeling for the direction in which we’re heading, please do check out our new website at www.worldorganics.com.

Apart from that, it’s business as usual. You’ll find all your favourite products inside these pages – filled to the brim with supercritical extracts and organic essential oils, and all designed to help you feel good and look good. Take the chance, too, to read our new article on the magical properties of the rose. Rose essential oil is an important ingredient in many of our products for good reason. It has amazing anti-aging properties, is great for healing the skin, and offers positive support for our emotions.

Supercritical Extraction

You will notice on our packaging that our products are made with supercritical extracts. Supercritical extraction technology is a cutting edge process which promises to revolutionise the field of organic personal care.

It delivers an extract that is all-natural, wonderfully pure, and super potent (in fact, extracts used in our ranges can be more than 50 times stronger than conventional extracts!).

At World Organics, we are proud to be leaders in the use of this technology, namely because the difference it makes to the quality of our products is extraordinarily meaningful. It allows us to get the maximum nutritional and beauty benefits of the whole plant – literally thousands of important compounds – and not just an isolated chemical constituent. Equally important, the extracts are extremely concentrated as they are full extractions, including essential oils as well as other water-soluble and fat-soluble substances from the plants used.

We are very proud of our links with India and especially our partnership with a number of organic, Indian community farms.

In a country where farming remains a way of life for a majority of the population, these farms are leading the way in overcoming the dependence Indian agriculture has had on the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides. As a result of this dependence, soil quality and yields have decreased dramatically in many areas of the country, whilst costs have soared and poverty has increased.

To help counteract this, we support and participate in the organic movement in India and actively work with community farms and organic herbal suppliers, assisting with the certification costs necessary for farms to be recognised as organic producers and paying an average of 15% above market price for their produce, giving the farmers security of revenue.

The net result of this partnership has been the establishment of strong business relationships, enduring friendships, and the opportunity to include in our products organic ingredients of the highest quality.

Acupressure Massage

Respect for the ancient healing wisdom of our elders and teachers is at the heart of our River Veda range. Acupressure Massage is a part of this wisdom and it involves stimulating points in the face for physical relief and enhanced wellbeing.

You may find this a wonderfully soothing part of your evening ritual as you relax and get ready for your replenishing sleep.

Using an oil or moisturizer of your choice, follow the numbering shown on the image. Starting at your chin, apply gentle pressure with your middle fingers, holding each point for 10 seconds or so. You can also do tiny rotations either clockwise or anticlockwise. Breathe slowly as you relax and let go of the day.

Holding these points will release tension and toxins held under the skin. It can improve circulation and energy throughout the body and helps make the skin brighter, smoother and firmer.

Interestingly, each pressure point is believed to have a relation to the health of major organs in the body, as explained below, so you might find some are more tender than others.

After working through each pressure point, finish by gently playing piano over your face with your fingertips.

Meditation is good for us.

Not only can it relax the body and calm the mind, but – as dozens of recent scientific studies have shown – it offers a host of emotional and physical health benefits, including helping us to look and feel younger by lowering blood pressure and increasing blood cell circulation!

Here’s a brief, easy-to-follow, and versatile meditation that you can practice anywhere, any time, and which will leave you feeling refreshed and nourished – mind, body and soul! To begin, simply find a comfortable place to sit (preferably with a straight back) and with your mouth closed. You can also choose to close your eyes.

1. Begin by taking 3 deep breaths, consciously expanding your rib cage before simply letting your breath drop deep and soft through your abdomen. Pause in the space between breaths and allow your mind to go quiet. Some find inhaling to the count of 3 or 5, pausing, and then exhaling to the count of 3 or 5 and pausing, helps.

2. Starting with the top of your head, gently work down your body all the way to your toes, focusing on each part of your body as you go. Remember to take deep, regular, soft breaths, relaxing completely into each area of your body.

3. How long you spend meditating and focusing on each body area is entirely up to you. You can spend between 1 and 10 breaths, depending on the time available to you.

4. Rather than relax, if you’d prefer to be energised you can choose to scan from toe to head. Scanning downwards helps you relax, scanning upwards will help you feel more energised, and can help if you have a busy day ahead.

5. Complete the meditation as you started, by taking 3 deep breaths and gently welcoming the world back in.

By the end of the meditation you should feel refreshed, energised and in touch with your body. Enjoy whatever the day brings you next!

My name is Kimberly. In late 2014 I attended a World Organics Get Together at a friend’s house. As soon as I tried the products, I fell in love with them and knew that the company had something genuinely exciting to offer.

Skin Type Guide

A guide to skin types and the best products to keep your skin healthy.

Your skin type refers to whether you have Oily, Dry, Normal, or Combination Skin. Many of us have normal skin or combination skin which can display different characteristics because of heat, dehydration or other environmental conditions such as air conditioning. If you have combination skin, you are likely either more oily or dry and we call these types Combination-Oily and Combination-Dry.

Your skin type determines your needs and what skincare products will best suit you. At times there are also conditions that arise, such as blemishes/acne, new signs of aging and pigmentation and these too will influence your product choice. We recommend a consultation with a World Organics consultant who can help you decide what your own skin needs are and help you select the perfect World Organics products to cater to your needs.

Although there is no standard ‘test’ which will allow you to exactly define your skin type (the skin is too complex an organ for this to be entirely possible) some fairly accurate assumptions can be made by examining the area of your face known as the ‘T-zone’. The T-zone is that part of your face consisting of the forehead, nose and the area around the mouth, and includes the chin. It gets its name because it is a similar shape to the letter ‘T’. When examining the T-zone, one of the first things to look for is pore size. Pore sizes tend to be larger in the T-zone (unless you have very dry skin). If you have large pores in the T-zone but nowhere else, you are likely to have a normal, or perhaps combination, skin type. Following this more naturally oily skin types will have larger pores in all areas.
