Since 1986, the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery has been committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect and provides emergency intervention, respite care and resources for empowerment to families in crisis by:
Providing short-term care for children, age birth through twelve, in a safe, nurturing environment Helping families resolve crises Providing follow-up, ongoing support and education to parents Providing community outreach programs and raising awareness of risk factors for child abuse Advocating on behalf of children and families in the social and legal systems

The Crisis Nursery was founded in 1986 by the Junior League of St. Louis and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
We have five 24-hour locations: Crisis Nursery Centene Center (1928 Gravois Rd. - South St. Louis - I-44 & I-55) Crisis Nursery North (on the grounds of Christian Hospital) Crisis Nursery St. Charles (across from SSM St. Joseph Health Center) Crisis Nursery West (near SSM St. Joseph Health Center) Crisis Nursery Wentzville (on the grounds of SSM St Joseph Health Center Wentzville) We also operate 7 Outreach Centers in the Metro Area
Since opening our doors, we have cared for more than 98,000 children and provided support and counseling to more than 111,000 families.

5. The Crisis Nursery is rated as one of the United Way’s top agencies in the region.
6. Through grants, donors & events, the Crisis Nursery raises $10, for every $1 it receives from state funding.
7. Hospital costs are over $1,800 a day to care for a seriously abused child.
8. Over 88% of ALL revenue goes directly to care of the children and family empowerment.
9. Prevention is much more cost-effective than treating a child who has already been abused.
10. 99% of children DO NOT experience abuse while their families are benefiting from Crisis Nursery programs and services.

The Saint Louis Crisis Nursery Charity Golf Classic has been hugely successful since the first annual
tournament. Fabulous Sport Connoisseur Steve Savard, has been generously donating his time as Master of Ceremonies since 1996, and help spread the word around town that the Crisis Nursery Charity Golf Classic is truly “a first-class event"! Each year the tournament attracts new corporate sponsors and teams, as well as welcomes back many loyal sponsors and players. Team Sponsorships for 18 holes of play begin at $2,000. Individual players are $350.
