Todd Shulenberger was named the Washington State University Head Soccer Coach April 10, 2015.

In his first season at the helm of the Cougar soccer program, Shulenberger guided WSU to a record-tying 14 wins. The Cougars boasted a perfect record (6-0-0) on the road in conference play for the first time since 2000. Shulenberger guided WSU to its fifth-straight postseason appearance.

Implementing his new system, Shulenberger domi-nated the offensive side of the ball with 13 goal-scorers and 34 total goals. Washington State rose to as high as 16th in the national rankings before finishing at 23rd in the country. The WSU backline allowed 0.92 goals per game and held opponents to just 19 goals in the season. The collegiate soccer world took note, honoring Shulenberger’s first-year team with four NSCAA All-Pacific Region selections, and four Pac-12 All-Conference honorees.

Academically, the Cougars saw their team GPA rise to 3.14 with eight Pac-12 All-Academic selections. Junior Susie White picked up Pac-12 All-Academic First Team selection, while sophomore Sofia Anker-Kofoed was named to the second team.

Shulenberger became the seventh head coach in program history after spending the previous two seasons as the associate head coach at Texas Tech. In 2014 the Red Raiders reached the third round of the NCAA Championship and finished with a 16-4-2 record.

The Red Raiders finished 18-2-3 overall in Shu-lenberger’s first season in Lubbock, snapping the single-season school record for wins en route to an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Tech came close to its first ever Big 12 title in 2013 as the Red Raiders closed league play 6-0-2 overall and just a point behind regular season champion West Virginia. It was the highest confer-ence finish for the Red Raiders in program history.

Prior to Texas Tech, Shulenberger spent four sea-sons at Missouri, concluding with back-to-back trips to the NCAA Championship in 2011 and 2012. The Tigers captured the program’s first Big 12 regular season title in 2009, Shulenberger’ s first season, before finishing 14-7-1 overall and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 2012. Missouri regularly assembled several of the top recruiting classes in the country during Shulenberger’s tenure, including a pair of classes in 2010 and 2011 that ranked in the top 10 nationally.

Shulenberger arrived at Missouri following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Clemson where he also served as recruiting coordinator. He main-tained the program’s budget and served as an assis-tant director for the Clemson camp program while with the Tigers, who advanced to the NCAA Tourna-ment in his first season in 2007.

Along with his collegiate experience, Shulenberger has worked on the club scene, spending 10 years as the Director of Coaching for the TopHat Soccer Club based out of Atlanta. While at TopHat, Shulen-berger oversaw player development and staff and also served as the club’s college placement advisor. During his stay with TopHat, Shulenberger spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Georgia State where he prepared and conducted practices while also assisting with recruiting functions and organiz-ing team travel.

Shulenberger graduated from Robert Morris Univer-sity with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1994. He spent four seasons on the Robert Morris soccer team, helping lead the Colonials to an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 1993. He went on to play professionally for the Canton Invaders of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) from 1994-96 before turning to coaching.

Shulenberger and his wife Christy have two daugh-ters, Kyla and Camryn, and a son, Owen.

» In his first season as a collegiate head coach, Shulenberger guided the Cougars to 14 wins, tied for the most in program history

» The Cougars went undefeated on the road in Pac-12 Conference play, becoming the first WSU team since 2000 to accomplish the feat

» After being picked to finish 11th in the conference by fellow coaches, the Cougars rocketed to a third-place Pac-12 finish, picking up 10 wins in their first 12 matches

SandyDAVISONAssistant CoachThird Season

Sandy Davison joined the Cougar soccer program in February of 2014.

Entering her third season on the Palouse, Davison looks to build upon a highly-successful first two years at Washington State. During her second season with WSU, Davison helped WSU to a fifth-consecutive postseason berth for the first time in school history. The Cougars drasti-cally increased their offensive production from her first season, netting 34 goals en route to a record-tying 14 wins.

The Cougars garnered several athletic and academic awards during Davison’s second campaign, including four NSCAA All-Pacific Region selections, four Pac-12 All-Conference honorees, the NSCAA Team Aca-demic Award, and eight Pac-12 All-Academic honorees.

In her first season in Pullman, Davison guided WSU to its fourth-con-secutive postseason berth for the first time in school history. Davison and the Cougars developed a dynamic offensive threat with 11 different goal-scorers in the season, the most for a WSU side since 2009. Three student-athletes received All-Pac-12 honors, led by a second team selec-tion for Nicole Setterlund.

Prior to arriving on the Palouse, Davison spent the 2013 season as the volunteer assistant coach at Louisville. The Cardinals finished runner-up in the American Athletic Conference and earned a Top 25 national ranking.

Before arriving in Louisville, Davison spent a season with Cincinnati as the volunteer assistant coach with the then-Big East Conference pro-gram. Her first-collegiate job came as an assistant coach to former WSU Head Coach Steve Nugent in 2011 at UNCG.

Her experience with US Soccer Youth National Teams began in 2002 when she was a U.S. Soccer Federation women’s representative at the USOC Women’s Leadership Conference. Since then she has worked at U-14 Youth National ID Camps, U-17 Youth National Team Camps, and the U-15 Youth National Team Nike Friendlies in 2008. In addition, she served on the US Soccer Youth National Team Scouting staff from 2010-12.

Davison has coached in three of the four ODP regions. She has served as a U-16 assistant coach for Region II and Region IV, and served as a regional staff coach for Region IV (1997-98, 2009) and Region III (2003-04, 2006-08, 2011). She served as the head coach for the ’93 U-17 CONCACAF Costa Rica tour for Region III in 2008 and was the Region III head coach for the 94, 93 and 92 age groups from 2006-08. She was a part of ODP state teams in California, Florida, North Carolina and Texas for 11 years from 1994 through 2012.

Her coaching career began in 1987 as the head coach of San Juan Soc-cer Club in Sacramento, Calif. She worked with club teams in Sacra-mento and nearby Davis until serving the first of three stints with the Challenge South Soccer Club in Houston from 1998-2000. Challenge South was ranked by Soccer America as the 12th-best girls club in the country for developing and showcasing youth players. Davison was key in Challenge South growing from two to 11 teams and the implementa-tion of a youth academy program that attracted elite players.

Davison was the technical director at the prestigious Pleasanton (Calif.) Rage Soccer Club from 2000-02. She coached multiple state and regional championship teams and the 2002 USYS national champion. Davison became the program director for the Weston Fury Soccer Club in Weston, Fla. From 2004-06, her responsibilities included club pro-gramming, coaching development, staffing and staff development. Her Weston 90 G Premier team was a state finalist in 2004 and 2005.

Davison led the Tophat Soccer Club of Atlanta to back-to-back state championships in 2006 and 2007 while serving as the Girls Director of Coaching. In 2007-08, she was the Girls Director of Coaching at Space City FC in Houston where she was instrumental in the development of the 8v8 academy program in the club and State Association of South Texas.

After returning to Challenge South in 2008-09, Davison moved on to be-come the Girls Division Director at perennial-power Sereno Soccer Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. She assisted in the placement of over 40 players in NCAA Division I, II and III programs. She coached the 95 and 97 Sereno teams to Top 25 national rankings as recognized by Got Soccer in 2010 and 2011. Davison’s squads captured state titles in 2009 and 2010.

Davison graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in cognitive studies.

JonHARVEYAssistant CoachThird Season

Jon Harvey joined the Washington State University soccer staff in February, 2014.

Since joining the staff, Harvey has guided WSU goalkeepers and back-line to success. During his second season in Pullman, Harvey assisted in WSU’s fifth-consecutive postseason berth. Overseeing first-year goalkeeper Ella Dederick, Harvey helped the Cougars maintain a 0.92 goals against average with four shutouts. Dederick recorded 99 saves in the season, the most by a WSU goalkeeper since 2008. Dederick was selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team and the NSCAA All-Pacific Region Third Team. She also earned Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week hon-ors, Oct. 13, for her shutout performances against Utah and Colorado.

Off the field, Harvey oversaw the academic success of the Cougar soccer program as nine student-athletes earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors. Susie White was named to the All-Academic First Team, mark-ing the eighth-straight year the Cougars have placed a student-athlete on the first team, the longest streak in the conference.

In his first season with the Cougars, Harvey oversaw the success of goalkeeper Gurveen Clair. The 2014 Cougars’ 0.74 goals against average tied for the third-best average in program history. Under the guidance of Harvey, Clair and WSU recorded nine shutouts, second in school his-tory behind Clair’s school-record 13 shutouts in 2013. Harvey led to Clair to 10 wins on the season, bringing her career total to 44 wins, the most by any goalkeeper in WSU history.

Harvey came to Pullman from UNCG where he was an assistant for one season under former WSU Head Coach Steve Nugent. With the Spartans, Harvey was the goalkeeping coach and recruiting coordina-tor. Under his tutelage, UNCG lowered its goals against average from 1.02 to 0.75, good for 35th nationally. He coached Jamie Simmons, who recorded the 18th-best save percentage in the nation last season.

Prior to his stint at UNCG, Harvey was a volunteer coach at Georgia (2011-12) and worked primarily with goalkeepers. He helped All-SEC and all-region goalkeeper Ashley Baker etch her name in the Georgia record books in nearly every category. Baker signed a professional contract in England and earned a call up to the Senior National Team’s camp following her career at Georgia. She was the 20th overall pick by Sky Blue FC in the 2013 National Women’s Soccer League college draft.

From 2006-10, Harvey was an assistant coach at NCAA Division II North Georgia. The Saints won 58 percent of their matches during that span, earned their first NSCAA Top 25 ranking and reached the Peachbelt Conference Tournament championship match.

Harvey was instrumental in lowering North Georgia’s goals against av-erage from 1.79 in 2005 (the year prior to his arrival) to a program-best 1.03 in 2010 (his final season). He recruited and trained 13 All-Peachbelt Conference performers, five NSCAA All-South Region selections, and NSCAA All-American and a Peachbelt Conference Freshman of the Year. Harvey’s responsibilities also included practice planning, fundraising, travel and recruiting.

From 2000-05, Harvey served in the United States Navy. His military career included decorated combat tours in Al Anbar Province, Iraq in 2004 and 2005.

Harvey is also on staff with the USSF as well as the Region III ODP goalkeeping. He has become a member of US Soccer National Training Centers in Atlanta and Jacksonville, Fla. He holds a USSF “B” License and NSCAA Levels I, II and III Goalkeeping Diplomas.

Harvey is a graduate of North Georgia and is married to his wife, Rae-gan. They have a boy named Graham.

JessGREERCoordinator of OperationsFirst Season

Jess Greer was named the coordinator of operations for the Washing-ton State women’s soccer team in June 2016. Greer oversees day-to-day operations of the team, as well as team travel, camps, and gameday operations.

Greer joined head coach Todd Shulenberger’s staff after playing four years of collegiate soccer at the University of Missouri under then-assistant coach Shulenberger from 2009-12.

Greer arrived on the Palouse after spending the past three seasons in the state of Arkansas. Most recently the Sedalia, Mo., native worked as an assistant coach at Arkansas State University under first-year head coach Brian Dooley.

Prior to arriving at Arkansas State, Greer spent two seasons as the director of soccer operations at the University of Arkansas. During her time with the Razorbacks, she oversaw day-to-day operations and aca-demics of the team. Arkansas found success on and off the field during Greer’s time in Fayetteville, earning back-to-back berths in the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and 2013.

Greer graduated from Missouri in 2013 with a degree in health sciences after playing all four years under Shulenberger. Greer and Shulenberg-er led the Tigers to the 2009 Big 12 regular season title and postseason berths in 2011 and 2012. Greer finished with 84 career matches played, 52 starts, and seven goals. Off the field Greer was a four-time member of the conference’s honor roll (three-time Big 12, one-time SEC).
