2016 Middle School Honor Band Clinic November 17 – November 19, 2016 Limestone College is proud to announce the 3 rd Annual Limestone College Honor Band Clinic exclusively for Middle School musicians. This clinic developed from the overwhelming positive response from Middle School band directors, and their desire to submit their students to this unique opportunity. As before, the clinic is FREE to selected members! Honor Band members will be selected from a list of nominated students provided by students’ Band Director. Honor Band members MUST be nominated by their band director to be considered for the clinic. Chairs will be determined by a short performance audition (see the attached tentative schedule) that will include selected scales and sight-reading. This year, the clinicians will be: Gold Band Clinician Mr. Mike Doll, Band Director, Palmetto Christian Academy Blue Band Clinician Mr. Jocquin Fuller, Band Director, Charlotte Latin School Music may also be available through SmartMusic. The program list will be available online. When students have been notified of their selection into the Honor Band, they may begin preparing for the clinic by going into SmartMusic, opening the program titles, and practicing. What Honor Band members receive: As with every year, this will be an once-in-a-lifetime experience to perform art with musicians never assembled before at Limestone College. Selected members for the 2016 Middle School Honor Band Clinic will receive quality instruction, a Friday lunch and dinner, an honor band t-shirt, a free concert, and the opportunity to perform with students from around the Southeast region of the United States! How to be selected into the Honor Band: The Band Director Nomination form is available online. The band director will receive notification, via email, of submitting the nomination form confirming receipt. Band director nominations are due by October 14 th and selections for the Honor Band will be provided to the Band Director by October 21 st . Once selected, Honor Band Students are to complete and mail a Registration Form, available online, by November 4 th . The MSHB Clinic will be Thursday, Nov. 17 – Saturday, November 19, 2014. IMPORTANT DATES: October 14 th Band Director Nomination Forms are due – You may send them prior!   • The tentative schedule is listed below. A campus map and directions to Limestone College are available on the web, if needed. The BAND HALL or “Downtown Campus” is located at 101 North Granard Street, across the street from Hardee’s, a mere mile from the main campus. This building is exclusive to Limestone College, primarily the Department of Music, and is equipped with magnetic-lock doors for extra security. Transportation must be provided by the chaperones of the middle school students – Limestone unfortunately cannot be responsible for the transportation.

    Thursday Schedule: Dinner – please eat prior to arrival! 3:30pm Check-In at Fullerton Auditorium (Main Campus) – PLEASE START HERE ! Once checked-in, we will lead participants to Carroll Building for AUDITIONS 6:30pm Orientation (Fullerton) – Band Directors/Chaperones will receive student’s results. 7:00pm Seating/Rehearsals: Gold Honor Band – BAND HALL (transportation needed) Blue Honor Band – Fullerton Auditorium 9:00pm END Rehearsal Friday Schedule: Breakfast – on your own 10:00am Rehearsals (breaks throughout): Gold Honor Band – BAND HALL (please drop off here!) Blue Honor Band – Fullerton Auditorium 12:00am LUNCH at BAND HALL FREE - Provided by Limestone College Blue Honor Band – transportation needed {bring needs!} 1:00 pm Rehearsals (breaks throughout): Blue Honor Band – BAND HALL Gold Honor Band – Fullerton (transportation needed {bring needs!}) 3:30pm BREAK – (FREE water & fruit snack provided by Limestone College) 4:00pm Resume rehearsals

    5:30pm DINNER at the BAND HALL FREE - Provided by Limestone College Gold Honor Band – transportation needed {bring needs!} 6:00pm Feature Performance at the BAND HALL: Limestone College iPan Ensemble (Steel Drums) 6:30pm Dismissed – Pick up at BAND HALL parking lot. Saturday Schedule: Breakfast – on your own 9:00am Rehearsals (breaks throughout): Gold Honor Band – BAND HALL (please drop off here!) Blue Honor Band – Fullerton Auditorium 12:00 pm Break for LUNCH (on your own) 1:30 pm Call Time at Fullerton Auditorium - Dressed for Performance! Members are seated on stage OR in hall (instructions to be provided) 2:00 pm BLUE & GOLD HONOR BANDS CONCERT!
