EXHIBITOR INFORMATION - Please read thoroughly

� Entries are open to members of the Garden Club Federation of Dayton and Vicinity, residents of Montgomery

County and residents of any county adjoining Montgomery County (Butler, Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Preble

and Warren counties.) The junior exhibitor age limit is 4-18 years of age. There are no entry fees and no

premiums will be paid. (Note: Montgomery County Agriculture Society members enjoy free daily admission and

infield parking, if available. Please consider supporting the Agriculture Society by purchasing a membership.)

� To learn more about exhibiting at the flower show, everyone is invited to attend an informational Fair Briefing

meeting 10 am, Monday, August 15 at the Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark’s Horticulture Center (1301 E.

Siebenthaler Ave., Dayton OH 45414.) Whether exhibiting in artistic classes, horticulture classes or both, all

exhibitors must obtain an exhibitor’s number from the flower show Registrar Susan Keck (937-278-3154)

to enter. Schedules, entry tags, exhibitor’s number and show information may be secured in advance at the

informational Fair Briefing meeting (10 am, August 15 at Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark). Exhibitors must use

entry tags provided by the flower show committee. It is highly advisable to have entry tags filled out prior

to arrival at the fairgrounds.

� Entries for the first flower show will be accepted Tuesday, August 30 from 6-7:30 pm and on Wednesday, August

31 from 7-9 am. Entries for the second flower show entries will be accepted on Friday, September 2 from 6-7:30

pm and Saturday, September 3 from 7-9 am. (Enter the fairgrounds through the Apple Street gate and continue to

the back of the Coliseum.)

� First flower show exhibits will be released at 5-7 pm, Friday, September 2. Second show exhibits will be released

from 5-7 pm, Monday, September 5. The Garden Club Federation will exercise due caution in safeguarding

exhibits and awards but cannot assume responsibility for any injury, damage or loss.

� Classes may be withdrawn, combined or subdivided if the number of entries warrants. Horticulture entries made

after 9 am on show days will be accepted for display only. Artistic entries must be ready for judging by 10 am.

� No exhibitors or visitors are permitted in the show area during day-of staging or judging. Show areas will be closed

from 9 am to 2 pm or until judging is complete. Only judges, flower show clerks, scorekeeper and other

authorized personnel will be permitted on the show floor during judging.

� The flower show will be judged by the Standard System of Judging, by accredited judges of The Ohio Association

of Garden Clubs, Inc. One first, one second, one third and more than one honorable mention may be awarded for

worthy entries in each class. Awards may be withheld at the discretion of the judge. Judges’ decisions are final.

� An exhibitor who displays any disrespect to the flower show committee or a flower show judge or who is found to

have violated flower show rules, shall forfeit all awards. Protests (accompanied by a protest fee of $100) must be

made in writing and presented to the Montgomery County Agricultural Society’s office within 10 days of the

conclusion of the fair. Fraud and deception will not be tolerated and may result in being barred from future

competitions.

Entry procedure: If not secured before the day of the show, upon arrival to the flower show, obtain entry tags and

an exhibitor’s number from the Flower Show Registrar. Entry tag must be completely filled out TOP AND

BOTTOM (verify the accuracy before leaving the entry area) and stage exhibit in display container. Exhibit is then

taken to the Classification/Passing Committee table for acceptance where it is then placed on the show tables by the

Placement Committee. Additionally, Junior entry tags must have the exhibitor’s age noted at the top and bottom.

HORTICULTURE EXHIBITION RULES

1. All horticulture exhibits must be amateur-grown by the exhibitor.

The specimen should be correctly labeled with common and

scientific names, if known, for educational purposes. Exhibitors

may enter as many entries as desired in any horticulture class,

providing each is a different variety. During judging, more

consideration will be given to a groomed specimen that is correctly

named, labeled and attractively staged. Only exhibits with correct

variety names are eligible for Best of Show awards.

2. A limited amount of clear glass display vases will be available for

entering specimens. Wedges of commonly accepted materials

(cling wrap, styrofoam, boxwood, taxus, etc) may be used to assist

in the staging of specimens.

3. Container grown plants must have been grown by the exhibitor for

at least 3 months and be established in the pot. No foreign

substance is permitted on any plant material. Maximum container

size limitations are noted in respective sections and classes.

Exhibitor must supply saucer for containers larger than 7".

4. An exhibitor may not enter a specimen in an ‘any other’ class if

there is already a class for it or if they have entered that same

cultivar in another class.

5. Specimens exhibited in the first show may NOT be entered in

the second show.

6. Only the Placement Committee is permitted to place or move an

entry on display racks or show tables.

7. Ornamental grasses will be measured from bottom cut end to

height as displayed in vase (not by pulling up foliage like a ponytail).

8. Named hostas will be classed using the American Hosta Society (AHS) Show Classification List. The list can be

found at: http://www.americanhostasociety.org/Judging.html. All leaves entered should be representative of the

plant as a whole and should be taken from plants approaching maturity.

ARTISTIC EXHIBITION RULES

1. Adult artistic classes are limited to four (4) entries each and are by reservation only. Design exhibitors should

contact the Artistic Reservations Chair Susan Keck (937-278-3154) to obtain an exhibitor’s number and to sign up

for design classes prior to the August 17 deadline. The classes will be filled in the order in which reservations are

received. One entry per person per class. Persons registering for a class must fulfill their commitment or provide a

substitute and notify the Artistic Reservation Chair of the change.

2. Junior artistic entries will be subdivided by age shown on entry tag. (Ages 4-11 and 12-18)

3. All arrangements must be the work of the exhibitor. Artistic exhibits must be kept fresh at all times. The

exhibitor is requested to provide replacement materials.

4. Designs must include plant material; fresh or dried and may be obtained from any source. No artificial plant

materials or artificially colored fresh plant materials are permitted in any class. Dried and preserved plant

material may be of a natural color, painted or treated. P lant materials on the conservation list, may not be used

unless grown by the exhibitor. This fact must be stated on a card which should accompany the design. Extra

foliage, bases, dried plant, glycerinized plant material and accessories are permitted unless otherwise stated.

5. Artistic classes 40, 41, 45 and 46 will be staged against a white drape background with a white table

covering. Classes 42, 43, 44, 47, 48 and 49 (first and second show classes) will be displayed against a cream

colored wall with a white table covering unless otherwise noted. With the exception of the miniature and

small designs, all adult artistic classes are allowed a space approximately 36" wide x 30" deep x 48" tall.

Designers of full size arrangements may use backgrounds to enhance their designs, if desired.

6. The Artistic Reservations Chair will supply the entry tag and a 3"x5" card on which the exhibitor must list all plant

materials used in the design. The Flower Show Committee reserves the right to reject any exhibit not complying

with the schedule.

What is in a plant’s name?

Botanical names should be used on all

entry tags to assist in educating flower show

attendees. Botanical names are comprised of

a genus name and a species name.

Additionally, a cultivar name may follow the

botanical name.

Genus: is a group of one or more plants

that share a wide range of characteristics.

Genus names are always capitalized.

Example: Hosta.

Species: is a group of plants that are

capable of producing offspring similar to

themselves. Species names are always lower

case. Example: plantaginea.

Cultivars: is a group of plants selected or

artificially raised, distinct variants of species.

Cultivar names are in single quotes. Example:

‘Aphrodite’.

Summary: The correct way to list the

example plant on an entry tag is: Hosta

plantaginea ‘Aphrodite’.

During 2015, over 3,411 youth, ages 5-1 were involved with Montgomery County 4-H.Over 120 volunteer 4-H Leaders work with 4 5 youth in 21 community 4-H Clubs. Youth in school classrooms participated in 4-H Chick Quest this past Spring, learning about life sciences. 4-H After School Programs during the Spring and Summer taught youth skills in leadership and science. 4-H is active at Wright-Patterson AFB.

In 4-H clubs, young people e perience the essential elements of positive youth development: belonging, mastery, independence and generosity. 4-H members learn responsibility, practice team work and leadership, and have FUN 4-H pro ects are not ust for kids on the farm. Our Montgomery County 4-H members live in cities, suburbs, ANDrural communities. ontgomery o nty nior Fair Board The purpose of the Junior Fair Board is to plan, organize, manage, and direct the Montgomery County Junior Fair, with the assistance and under the supervision of the Montgomery County Senior Fair Board. Their goals are to promote youth activities at the Fair, to develop and demonstrate leadership and to provide fun and educational environment for the youth of our communities. 4-H FFA members ages 15 and older by October 1 interested in appointments to the Junior Fair Board must complete and submit an application (due October 1) to the E tension Office.

4 Like pro ects will not be allowed in more than one organization, i.e., participants cannot e hibit the same pro ectin 4-H and FFA classes at the Montgomery County Fair.No one is permitted to take e hibits from Fairgrounds until 5 p.m. on Labor Day unless approved by Sr. FairDirectors. Early removal will be cause for forfeiture of premiums. 4 E hibiting your animals and pro ects at the fair is an opportunity to learn, meet new friends, and have fun. Upon arrival at the Fairgrounds, all livestock e hibits are sub ect to health regulations of the Ohio Department ofAgriculture as stated in this book and in the Revised Livestock E hibition Rules http: codes.ohio.gov oac 01-1ALL animals must be inspected by the Fair Veterinarian before the e hibitor can stall or pen their animals. Animalscan arrive at the Fairgrounds no earlier than :00am Tuesday and no later than 10p.m., Tuesday of the Fair.E ceptions: Rabbits and poultry have arrival time is 12noon – :00pm, but will check in with Barn Superintendentsprior to penning (see specific section rule).All show times sub ect to change. E hibitors assume full responsibility for meeting show and weighing schedule.Barns, stalls, aisles, feed and supplies are to be kept neat, clean and orderly. Each e hibitor is responsible for ownanimal(s) and bedding until they are removed. 4 Livestock must be shown by the MEMBER unless they have two animals in the same class. If this happens, thesecond animal can be shown by any active Montgomery County Jr. Fair E hibitor. Other conflicts in show schedulesshould be brought to the Superintendents or E tension staff. College student e ception applies.All animals e hibited must have been a part of the member’s pro ect and cared for by the individual member on andafter specified possession dates. Ownership of an animal will be considered lost if after possession date of thecurrent year, the animal has been CONSIGNED OR SOLD in any type of transaction, even if the member buysback his animal.For all market animals with tag-ins (beef, sheep, swine, goats), each 4-H or FFA member can tag in a ma imumof three (3) animals sheep may tag in four market and or homegrown market. If siblings have not tagged in thema imum of market animals, one additional animal can be tagged in and designated as a family animal that canbe used by any eligible sibling. An eligible sibling is a Jr. Fair e hibitor who has already tagged in at least onemarket animal in the same species as the family animal. Family’ animals entered in the Junior Fair must have asibling name entered on the Junior Fair registration form.Animals cannot be replaced after specified possession deadline. Selection of show sale animals must be madebefore animals go over the scale. Possession dates listed in each Department.Only market animals may be sold in the Junior Fair Livestock Sale. Sale order will be by random e ceptfor those animals udged as Grand and Reserve Champions which will sell in the Sale of Champions. All designatedchampion market animals must be sold at the Junior Fair Livestock Sale. Sale feeof 20.00 will be charged to any person withdrawing an animal from the sale once the sale order is printed. Optionnot to sell in Jr. Fair Sales must be made in writing to Superintendents no later than 30 minutes after the MarketShow. Each animal pen will be charged a 4 sales fee. Certain species also have a mandatory check-off amountdeducted. Sale checks are mailed after confirmation received that thank you notes have been sent.If participant leaves show ring without permission from show authorities, they forfeit premiums and cannot sell.Only animals which are to be e hibited in a graded class are to be brought to the Fair.No professional grooming is permitted. (Assistance other than Montgomery County 4-H Advisors, immediate family,or 4-Hmembers is not permitted.) Immediate family means: e hibitor’s parent, step-parent, foster parent,grandparent, step-grandparent, foster grandparent, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister, half-brother, half-sister,son, daughter, step-son, stepdaughter, or guardian.All animals must not have horns at the Fair, including feeder calves. E ception: certain breeds of breeding goats.All animals must be broke to lead. Unruly animals will be sent home and do not show. Final determination will bemade by Superintendents.

4 Animals must show to sell.At Fair weigh-in and during the Fair, Junior Fair specie committees check animals for in ury or sickness and workwith Fair Veterinarian to make recommendations regarding the show and sale. Final decision to send an ill or in uredanimal home is made by the Fair Veterinarian. Members are responsible for immediate removal of ill or in uredanimals.Each Junior Fair e hibitor and one parent must have completed the Montgomery County Quality AssuranceProgram to participate in the Montgomery County Junior Fair Livestock and Dairy Shows or Junior Fair e hibitormust have tested out for their age group.Any in ections or medication of any kind given to any animal on the Fairgrounds must be administered by the FairVeterinarian.Members must accompany their own animals to the scales on weigh-in day at the Fair unless prior arrangementshave been made with the Superintendents.

1 . All meat animal, meat poultry, meat rabbits, feeder calves, and milking cows and milking goats must turn in acompleted Drug Use Notification Form (DUNF) for each animal or pen of meat poultry rabbits at the time of weigh-inat the fair. Said animals must also be past the prescribed withdrawal date for medications at fair weigh-in. Only theFair Veterinarian can make e ceptions on this withdrawal ruling.

20. Any Junior Fair E hibitor pulling their animal from the competition once they have entered the show arena, or if ane hibitor who stood first or second in their class does not return for the championship class, the e hibitor will bedis ualified from the show and will forfeit all premiums and awards won at the current year Fair. The e hibitor andall members of immediate family will be barred from competition at county fair for ne t 3 years.

21. Tampering and or misrepresentation as to breeding, age, ownership and any other irregularity in showing will beconsidered fraud and deception. Premiums, trophies, awards or sale money won will be withheld. The MontgomeryCounty Agricultural Society reserves the right to dis ualify any animal fitted in an unethical manner and dis ualifythe e hibitor and the e hibitor’s assistants who fitted the animal involved.

23. Unethical fitting shall include any cutting or tearing of the hide, cutting or tearing underneath the hide or removal oftissue in any attempt to alter the shape or appearance. It shall also include attempts to disrupt or change normaldental development, dyeing or coloring hair, adding artificial tailheads, switches, polls, hair and heels, as well as anyattempt to change the conformation and degree of firmness by administration of fluids or air internally or e ternallyin a li uid, solid or gaseous state. Transparent grooming materials only may be used. Water only may be used onhogs. The use of Clenbuterol and other unapproved drugs is prohibited. All e hibitors, their immediate family andany other parties involved in unethical fitting and showing of an animal will be barred from e hibiting or showingat the Montgomery County Fair and will forfeit all premiums, prize money and awards won in any Jr. and or openclasses.

24. SHOULD FRAUD OR DECEPTION, AND PROOF, AS DETERMINED BY THE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY, BEDISCOVERED AFTER THE ANIMAL OR ANIMALS HAVE BEEN SHOWN AND PRIOR TO THE SALE, suchanimal(s) shall not be permitted to sell. The animals placing ne t in line at the show shall move up.

25. SHOULD VIOLATION BE DISCOVERED AFTER THE SALE, all sale money shall be returned to the buyer and theanimal, carcass or carcass value shall be returned to the e hibitor. All placings in show will stand. NO animals willmove up. Any carcass suspected of being tampered with or suspected of containing drugs will be detained until theinvestigation is complete.

2 . IF THE CARCASS IS CONDEMNED at the packing plant for any reason, it shall be grounds for dis ualification inthe on-foot and carcass division of the show. Additionally, all premiums and sale money shall be forfeited and theloss of the animal be incurred by the e hibitor.

2 . The Montgomery County Agricultural Society has the authority to hold the Grand and Reserve Champion and anypro ect entry being tested in a secured building until released by the O.D.A. Testing Program. The pro ect entryowner must maintain feed, water and be responsible for delivery to the processing plant when released by theO.D.A. and Montgomery County Agricultural Society.

2 . All rules, regulations and guidelines for Junior Fair Livestock, Poultry and Rabbit Departments are recommendedto the Senior Fair Board’s Livestock Committee. Members of the Junior Fair Livestock Committee are all volunteersinterested in youth development as it relates to our Junior Fair Livestock program. Constructive suggestions forimproving our Junior Fair can be presented to this group. Voting privileges are e tended to 4-H and FFA parents,advisors, Junior Fair Board members, Junior Fair Superintendents and Senior Fair Directors who have attended twoof the three previous meetings.

2 . In the event that a packer buyer is not ac uired for a market animal species by the Jr. Fair Sale Committee, themember will be responsible to market their own animal and would receive only the premium bid for their eligibleindividual market pro ect minus the current year’s sale commission fee. This premium bid is the amount the Jr.Fair Sale buyer bids as a premium to the member without the cost of the animal. This would happen only if anacceptable packer could not be ac uired.

S N F D S The Montgomery County Agricultural Society shall have the right to test any animal prescribed by the Society to determine if a substance has been administered to change the conformation or temperament of the animal.

N F NS In the uestion of a rule violation the following due process will be used: e hibitor and or parties involved will be

uestioned by Fair officials. If it is felt a violation has occurred, Fair officials will make recommendations to the designated committee of the Agricultural Society which is appointed to department in uestion. After committee hears allegations and or evidence, they will decide if the case should be brought before the full Board of Directors. In the decision of allegations being brought before the Board, all parties involved will be notified of a meeting date with all parties having the right bto present their views and or evidence. Upon hearing the case, the Fair Board will make the ruling. When satisfactory evidence has been obtained by the Montgomery County Fair Management that any of the livestock rules have been violated, the e hibitor and or e hibitors family may be barred from showing in any future Montgomery County Agricultural Fairs. The minimum number of years for barment is three (3) years before the right to review. In case any premium shall have been awarded to animals shown in violation of this rule, the Montgomery County Fair Management will re uest the e hibitor to refund all premiums, trophies, awards, ribbons, and sale money under such violation. Unless fraud and or deception are involved, all championship placing stand.

P S S ND PP S Protests must be made in writing, signed by party or parties making protest, and filed with the E ecutive Secretary and the Junior Species Superintendent no later than 4 hours from the end of the fair. This team will make recommendations to the Fair Board by noon the following day after protest is received. A protest fee of 100 is re uired. The Montgomery County Agricultural Society will retain fee if protest is not sustained. The E ecutive Secretary shall hear protests with the Superintendent of the department involved and if necessary other people will be involved as designated by the E ecutive Secretary. All protests will be considered at a time set by the E ecutive Secretary of the Montgomery County Agricultural Society Board and all parties will be notified.

P N N The Ohio Department of Agriculture Revised LIVESTOCK EXHIBITION RULES are not printed in this Fair Book but are available at the Fairgrounds Offices to a Livestock E hibitor or adult supervisors upon re uest, as time permits. QUALITY ASSURANCE TRAINING TO EXHIBIT AND SELL LIVESTOCK. EXHIBITORS AND ONE PARENT GUARDIAN MUST COMPLETE THE ANNUAL MONTGOMERY COUNTY QUALITY ASSURANCE TRAINING conducted by OSU E tension. Junior e hibitors ages 12 and older may test out from these trainings, ages 12-14 and 15-1 . First time Junior e hibitors ages 12 and older cannot test out their first year. Junior e hibitors with meat andmarket animals, meat poultry, meat rabbits, feeder calves and milking cows and milking goats must participate in QualityAssurance training.

responsible to assure that proper management and welfare are at the core of animal care. The 10 Good Production Practices (GPP’s) are: 1. Use an appropriate veterinarian client patient relationship (VCPR) as the basis for medication decision making.2. Establish and implement an efficient and effective health management plan.3. Use antibiotics responsibly.4. Properly store and administer animal health products.5. Follow proper feed processing protocols.

. Establish effective animal identification, medication records and withdrawal times.

. Practice good environmental stewardship.

. Maintain proper workplace safety.

. Provide proper animal handling and care.10. Utilize tools for continuous improvement..

fit and size. Shirt may only have one button undone at the collar. (We will allow 4-H Club crew neck t-shirts.) Shirtmust cover the midriff at all times when showing the animal. E hibitor may wear 4-H, FFA or Farm Bureau clothingwhen e hibiting. No other lettering or logo on the apparel is permitted. Long pants (full length) of the proper fit andsize are permitted. No oversized pant, capri pants or shorts allowed. Shoes and boots that provide proper footprotection are re uired. No open toe shoes or sandals. No hats are to be worn during e hibiting, e cept for horses.Conservative, well-coordinated colors and fabrics are preferred. The e hibitor’s overall appearance should be cleanand neat, reflecting pride in self, animal and 4-H FFA.

2. Poultry and Rabbit e hibitor are re uired to wear white long sleeved shirts or ackets to e hibit with the standardfrom rule 1. Area, APA, APBA, and breed patches are permitted.

3. Dairy e hibitors are re uired to wear white shirts and white pants to e hibit with the standard from rule 1. For goate hibitors, show whites are preferred for dairy goats Fair attire for boer goats.

4. For dress code violation: You will not be permitted to show your animal you will forfeit premiums and the right to sellanimal.

If an individual wins representation in two or more species, that individual will represent each species won.Should the specie showman of showman be unable to participate due to illness, in ury, or family concerns, thenonly the alternate (Reserve) is eligible to take their place. A representative choosing not to participate must notifythis committee no later than one hour after the Saturday Goat Show.

3. Each participant competes by showing animals in all contest species. Working with udge, each participant willgive a demonstration in their specie after that class udging. During class, udge will have youths switch animalsand ask uestions about the animals. The switch of animals is strongly suggested by the udge and contestcommittee.

4. The Junior Fair Superintendent of each participating department, working with this show committee, will select theanimals to use in the Showman of Showmen Contest. Animals are to be of e ual show-ability. Lots will be drawnby contestants to determine which animal they will show. If enough animals of e ual show-ability are not available,the superintendents for that species will work with this committee to accommodate the situation, i.e.horses.

5. The Champion Showman of Showmen will be determined by their knowledge, ability to handle livestock, courtesyin the show ring, and use of accepted show ring practices and customs.

. Dress code: See general dress code policy.

. Each Judge will be given 15 minutes to udge their specie. The Scoring Staff will check the time and a five minutewarning will be announced. The only e ception to this rule will be the horses however, the udges will be askedto move through their class in a timely manner.

. Order of the show will be as follows: Horse, Market Goat, Beef, Swine, (Break to announce SmallAnimal Showmen), Dairy, Dairy Goat, Sheep.

. Placing 1- will be awarded with 1 point for 1st place 2 points for 2nd and so on. The lowest total score wins.Results during the contest will NOT be announced. After the contest, score sheets can be obtained by re uestfor contest participants only.

10. In case of tie, winner is determined by highest number of 1st class placings in the Showman of Showman classes.If there is still a tie, then the highest number of 2nd class placings will be used, and so on until the tie is broken.

4. The Junior Fair Superintendent of each participating department, working with this show committee, will select theanimals to use in the Showman of Showmen Contest. Animals are to be of e ual show-ability. Lots will be drawnby contestants to determine which animal they will show. If enough animals of e ual show-ability are not available,the superintendents for that species will work with this committee to accommodate the situation, i.e.horses.

5. The Champion Showman of Showmen will be determined by their knowledge, ability to handle livestock, courtesyin the show ring, and use of accepted show ring practices and customs.

. Each Judge will be given 15 minutes to udge their specie. The Scoring Staff will check the time and a five minutewarning will be announced. The only e ception to this rule will be the horses however, the udges will be askedto move through their class in a timely manner.

. Order of the show will be as follows: Horse, Market Goat, Beef, Swine, (Break to announce SmallAnimal Showmen), Dairy, Dairy Goat, Sheep.

. Placing 1- will be awarded with 1 point for 1st place 2 points for 2nd and so on. The lowest total score wins.Results during the contest will NOT be announced. After the contest, score sheets can be obtained by re uestfor contest participants only.

10. In case of tie, winner is determined by highest number of 1st class placings in the Showman of Showman classes.If there is still a tie, then the highest number of 2nd class placings will be used, and so on until the tie is broken.

N F P H B S S - - H NSOne e hibitor in each Junior Fair species (beef, dairy, goat, sheep, swine, rabbits, poultry, and horses) will be recognized as the Premier E hibitor in their species at the Sale of Champions on Labor Day. This honor and monetary award will be determined by points earned for placings in three events: skill-a-thon contest, showmanship, and show. Format and process will be the same as used with the Ohio State Fair Outstanding E hibitor program.

S ill-a-thon ontests: Skill-a-thons for ALL SPECIES will be conducted on Sunday before the Fair from 12 noon – 3pm in the Brubaker Grain Show Arena. Each species skill-a-thon will consist of five stations, with one station being scoring of your 4-H or FFA pro ect record book, or similar record-keeping for your specie livestock pro ect. To prepare for the skill-a-thon stations, study the respective 4-H handbooks, resource books, and pro ect books for each species. Know the Good Production Practices (GPPs) and related Quality Assurance information. Members may participate in all species skill-at-hons even if they are not enrolled in a pro ect in that species. In this situation, this member’s highest record book score will be carried into that non-enrolled pro ect skill-a-thon. To earn the Premier E hibitor, said e hibitor must have a completed pro ect record skill-a-thon score for that respective specie.

oat hibitor Scholarship The Montgomery County 4-H FFA Goat 1,000 scholarship was established in 200 by long-time supporters of the Montgomery County Fair. The intent of this scholarship is to recognize outstanding current and or former 4-H FFA members who have e celled in and because of 4-H FFA goat pro ects. The applicant may study any field at any accredited college or university. Applicants must be a current Ohio 4-H FFA member and a senior in high school, or a current or former Ohio 4-H FFA member and an undergraduate student 21 years or younger. The applicant must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the Fall term. The applicant must have e hibited their goats at the Montgomery County Fair at least three years. One scholarship winner will be selected each year. Once awarded, winners may not re-apply. Deadline to apply is April 15.
