2016 movin on farms bull sale web

Wow where has the time gone? Here I am doing write ups for our annual bull and female sale. We would like to invite you to our 3rd Annual Movin On Farms No Nonsense Bull and Female sale on February 27, 2016 at 1:00 at the Lloyd Exhibition Grounds.

All is well here on the home front with the year that we all had. Starting out with cold and dry conditions feeding late into spring. Then getting some timely much needed showers that enabled us to keep grass in front of the cows and produce enough feed for the winter.

We have coming to the sale this year 9 - 2 year olds and 33 yearling bulls that look awesome! As well as 11 great heifer calves. We have a good percentage of bulls that will work on heifers. The weaning weights are October 12, 2015 weights. Most of these bulls are Mid-March to Mid-April, making most of them 14 months old when you need them.

We would really like to thank the crew for helping us get-r-done! Thanks to the boys and their spouses, their buddies and our neighbours’. Thanks a lot!! We would also like to thank last year’s bidders and buyers.

We stand behind our Bulls 100 % and if there is a problem we want to be the first to know, you will have a bull working in your pasture as soon as possible. We are thankful to our customers for giving our program an opportunity to work in theirs.

Just drive down to the Lloyd Ex. And join us for dinner at 12:00 and a visit after. As we will take the bull’s home after and semen test them in May and then deliver them. We will also take the heifer’s home and deliver them at a later date. I think that this is a great bunch of bulls and heifers! See you sale day at 1:00 pm!

He is a dark headed and dark colored Zeal son that goes back to Program, King, Primeminister and Jim’s old 18K cow that we flushed last summer and out of a Hi Ho daughter from Spring Creek Angus. Last year’s bull went to Gillett’s at Bonnyville. He is thick, deep and has a square ass end. He will work well on cows.

A Colonel son out of a Pathfinder, Zama Pine, Bab’s cow family. The great grandma was one of the first ones that we registered and she produced two elite daughters. This guy is clean fronted, good topped and thick made. He is a heifer’s first calf. He will work well on heifers.

A son out of the bull we call Colonel. He goes back to Knight, Lassie 18T, Program, Soapy, Samurai, Doc Holiday, Badlands Bonus and Sunflower 10N. He is long and deep and square hipped. He will work well on heifers. This is a heifer’s first calf. His grandma is the dam of 55C. Has good milk and maternal numbers.

Another dark headed, dark coated son of Zeal that goes back to Program, King, Big C and Doc Holiday. He is square hipped, deep and thick. He is a twin, his sister last year was sold to Purser Farms. He will work well on bigger heifers or cows.

A Prime Rib grandson that goes back to Patriot, Kodiak and the Lois cow family. The bottom side goes back to Survivor, Sandstone, King, Canyon and the Lemay cow family. This guy is long bodied and deep sided. Will work well on heifers. Same grandma as 74C.

Here is a long bodied, smooth shouldered bull that is made right for calving heifers but will add some pounds to them in the fall. Last year’s half-brother sold to Hugh & Lorie Christie. Will work on heifers. Good milk and maternal numbers.

Here is an Abu son. Abu goes back to Samurai, Doc Holiday, Primeminister and the 18C cow that we flushed this summer. Abu was our high selling red bull here two years ago to Loon River. The cow goes back to Badlands Bonus, and Prospector. This old girl is a never miss cow and has a great disposition. He is a lighter colored, long bodied, square topped bull. He will work well on cows, putting some extra length in and weight on. Good milk and maternal numbers.

A Zeal son out of a Spring Creek cow that goes back to Chateau and to Prospector. He is lighter colored but is thick, wide topped, deep and has a good hind quarter. He will work well on bigger heifers and cows. Good milk and maternal numbers.

Here is a light colored HO904 son out of a Pathfinder, Program, Soapy dam. This is quite the little producing cow as last year’s heifer was the high selling heifer that sold to Z bar Angus. He is square hipped, deep sided and wide topped and has a great disposition. He will work on heifers and have some punch for your cows too. Good milk and maternal numbers. This guy’s gramma is the mom of lot 114c.

Is a grandson of HO904 and King out of a Spring Creek Barney, Canyon, King and Lemay daughter. This big rugged, thick topped, deep ribbed and big ass end is one that will add pounds to your herd. This guy has a good weaning, milk and maternal numbers. As well this guy’s grandma is the same as 30Cs, and is the mother of lot 49B. Will work well on cows.

Here is a grandson of the old H0904 bull. He goes back to H0904, Annie22Z, King, Barney, King again and the Patty cow family- one of the never miss families here. This 1st of April son is a dark red, long, deep, thick and square hipped. We showed him last fall. He was the youngest one in the class and finished third in the March class. This guy will add pounds to his calves. This cow has two heifers in the herd and last year’s son sold to Crocker Enterprises. Good milk and maternal numbers. He had a whopping 3.8 per day on mom’s milk. A granddaughter to his mom sells as lot 69c

A Zeal son out of a Spring Creek cow, just a moderate framed cow. He has a good top and middle to him. He will work on heifers.

He is a big son of Zeal. He goes back to Program, King, Primeminister, Hobo and Hi-Ho. This guy’s mom is one of the biggest cows that we have. He is a big, long rugged individual that will put some pounds on your calves. Last year’s brother sold to Sunderland Hog Farms. He will breed a lot of cows for you. Good milk and maternal numbers.

A Hitch son out of a Chateau, Hi Ho and Nit daughter that we got from Spring Creek. This long bodied, thick topped individual had a bit of a hard start about a month into life his mom died so we drafted him onto another cow. He is a hiefers first calf. He will work well on your cows.

A son of Mission, he is the red bull we bought out of the Geis Dispersal sale. What a great job of breeding he did putting his length of body in all of his calves. This guy was in last year’s catalogue but got sick right before the sale. The only thing that has changed from last year to this one is that he is bigger. He is still long bodied, thick topped and deep sided. His mom is a King, Lemay daughter that has produced well here. She is the grandma of 48B.

Another Mission son out of a Big C, King and Lemay daughter. She was and still could be a show cow. We kept him last year to use in our own program. He is a long bodied, deep sided, square topped and gentle as a kitten. We showed him as a calf and he won his class. He will put pounds on your calves and breed a lot of cows. His mother is a daughter to 38B.

A Mission son out of a Barney, Canyon, King, Mabel daughter. She is also the mother of 74C and Grandma of 30C. Like the Mission calves he is long bodied, deep sided, wide topped and has a good ass end and a short tail. He will work well on cows.

Here is a son out of the bull we call Diesel – what a heifer calving dream!! He is a clean fronted, smooth shoulder, wide topped, deep body and has a square ass end on him. This guy will work very well on heifers but also have some punch for cows.

Another Blackman son out of a Patriot, Rip tide and Atalanta cow family. Here is a long bodied, clean fronted and built to calve heifers. This guy will work well on heifers. Last year’s heifer calf sold to Bryan Melin. Mom is half-sister to 100B’s mom.

A Blackman son out of a Master, Dynasty and the Empire Pride cow family. This Black-man not only gave us a great set of calves, he did it in a hurry. We put him out with 28 cows to start with and in the first cycle we had 27 calves. This lad is a real chunk of a bull. He is long and deep bodied with a good hind quarter. This guy rises to the top of the pen pretty easy. This guy’s Grandma has raised some good ones with four daughters in the herd. Gramma is mom to lot 44c. Last year’s bull sold to Bob & Doug Adams. Good yearling, milk and maternal numbers. He had a whopping 3.74 per day on mom.

Here is a fine Diesel son out of an Addiction, Master and the Pride cow family- a top one here! He is a deep sided and has a good ass end. He is a little smaller than some of the bulls but he will work on heifers and put a little punch in his calves. The great grandma is an elite cow and his grandma has lot 58c heifer calf in the sale.

A son out of the Blackman bull. On the top side he goes back to Blackman, Kodiak and the Pride cow family. On the bottom he goes back to Max and the Atalanta cow family. Here is a bull out of the bull we called Baby and two years ago was our high seller to Bruce Reimer. The cow is a first calver that has Final Answer and Xhaust who was a heifer bull that we raised. This guy is built like a tank, square ass end, big top and a big middle. He will put pounds on your calves. Use him on 2nd calvers and older.

A Blackman son that goes back to Kodiak, Tibbie, Tank and Erica. He is a long bodied, deep sided and thick topped. He has been a great individual from day one. We showed this guy at the National show in Lloydminster and got 2nd in class and he was the youngest in his class. He will put some pounds on your calves. Good yearling, milk and maternal numbers.

He is a Baby son out of an Addiction, Program and Mabel cow family. Yes he is a black red carrier but he is just plum good. Deep sided, wide topped with a good hindquarter, built right to breed. This guy’s Grandma is half-sister to the mothers of 74C, 30C and 94C and is a half-brother 34C. This guy will work on heifers.

Here is a son out of the bull we call Simon. He goes back to Tiger, Kodiak, Traveler and the MVF Ellen cow which is their transplant cow. On the cows side she goes back to one of our old Lucy cows. This is the first of four HO904 daughters in the sale. She goes back to the old HO904 and the great Annie cow family along with King, and Lemay. On the dam’s side she goes back to Big C, Prime Rib and the Beamer cow family. Her Grandma is an elite dam. This heifer is light colored, wide topped and has a square ass end. Good maternal and milk numbers.

A HO904 daughter out of a Program, King, Premier Plus cow. The mother was once a show cow for us. She has put three daughters into the herd so that is why this dark red, neat fronted, long bodied correct made heifer is in the sale. This cow has also produced two bulls, one selling to Sunderland Hog Farms and the other one to M.C. Quantock last year. Good milk and maternal numbers.

We are bringing in another cross section of our heifers in for your appraisal. They are coming to you in their working clothes, we have not put any extra feed into these girls as they are being raised right along with the ones that we are keeping, because longevity is important to us. The way we pick these heifers are if we have a bunch from one herd sire group we will let more of them go. Along with if we have a daughter in

A Zeal daughter going back to a Spring Creek cow that is fitting great into our program. Her last year’s calf is in the herd so that made this wide topped, deep sided feminine girl available for sale. It is hard letting these go because they are good.

Here is a Prime Rib daughter going back to Program, King and the Soapy cow family. This is one that I really wanted to keep, she is young, just a mid-May heifer. She is a dark red, deep sided and well balanced. She will make a brood cow. Her mom has produced one heifer in the herd and one bull that we are using as a herd sire called Colonel. Last year’s son sold to Purser Farms. This cow is a Grandma to lot 70c. She has got good EPD numbers across the board.

TERMS & CONDITIONSTERMS:Terms are cash or cheque sale day, unless prior arrangements have been made. Other credit terms can be made available. See Murray. PAYMENT OPTIONS: half down sale day and a post dated cheque for April1, 2016. See Murray for other arrangements. We reserve the right to draw semen on any of the Bulls.

INSURANCE:Insurance will be available on sale day and we ask that all cattle left be fully insured.

DISPUTES:In case of a dispute, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK:Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

LIABILITIES:All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller and facility owner assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. Under no circumstances shall Movin On Farms be responsible for more than the purchase price paid for the said animal.

HEALTH:All animals will be sold in compliance with the health laws of Alberta. All bulls are vet inspected before delivery.

BREEDING GUARANTEE:All bulls are guaranteed breeders. All bulls will be semen tested and vet inspected.

REGISTRATION PAPERS:All animals selling are registered and will be transferred only upon full payment and on request of buyer.

DELIVERY:Free delivery within 200km radius. Bulls delivered after being semen tested in May.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:Any announcements from the stand will take priority over catalogue material.

BULL WARRANTYWe guarantee you with a sound, fertile bull capable of servicing a reasonable number of cows. In the event all is a non-satisfactory breeder the seller will not under any circumstances, be responsible for more than the original selling price of any bull sold in the sale. The consignors will not provide replacement or credit for physical injury or mismanagement. Therefore we stress the importance of insurance on your bull. An insurance agent will be available sale day.
