Introduction

Vision and goals

In October 18th 2012, the IPN Student Chapter was established, after two years the

name was changed to IPN – Azcapotzalco SPIE Student Chapter in order to allow

other IPN branches to form their own chapters.

Most of our members are PhD and Master Students from the “Centro de Investigación

e Innovación Tecnológica (CIITEC - Azcapotzalco)” in Mexito City. The other members

are postgraduates and undergraduates from “Escuela Superior de Ingeniería

Mecánica y Eléctrica (ESIME – Azcapotzalco and ESIME - Zacatenco)” and

“Universidad de Quintana Roo, campus Chetumal (UQROO)”.

Our objective is to keep together the student community from IPN – Azcapotzalco and

UQROO who are interested in image processing, optics and photonics research fields.

Our activities are categorised into three groups:

• Scientific and Academic activities.

• Social and Networking activities.
