Welcome to Lamar CISD!

Lamar CISD is one of the fastest-growing school districts in the Houston area and we’re honored you chose to partner with us in educating your child . We know selecting a school is an important task for every family and we believe you’ll be glad you decided on Lamar CISD .

Whether your student is entering one of our pre-kindergarten programs or one of our high schools, I’m confident you’ll find a safe, welcoming, student-focused environment .

I encourage your questions, both at the campus and district levels . We’ve made it easy for you, with “Your Voice”, which allows you to give opinions or request information through our websitewww .lcisd .org .

The website is an excellent resource for just about everything to do with Lamar CISD, but if you can’t find an answer to your question, please call our Community Relations Department at 832-223-0330 and someone will be more than happy to help you .

We’re proud of our traditions in Lamar CISD, but we’re preparing our students for an even brighter future .

Sincerely,

Thomas Randle, Ed .D .Superintendent

3l Lamar CISD and every campus achieved the highest ranking possible as part of the Texas Education Agency’s current accountability system—Met Standard!

l Lamar CISD has one of the lowest tax rates in the area—$1 .399 .

l Lamar CISD is an HEB Excellence in Education Large District Winner .

l Lamar CISD has produced three National Blue Ribbon Schools in recent years .

l Small enrollments at secondary schools (high schools are designed for no more than 2,000 students) provide more opportunities for students to assume leadership roles and participate in campus activities .

l Lamar CISD has sixth-grade-only campuses (middle schools) which focus on the needs of pre-adolescents, providing a smooth transition to secondary schools .

l All Lamar CISD fourth-grade students take swim lessons as part of PE .

l College facilitators are on every high school campus, helping all 9-12th grade students learn about college scholarships, applications, information, etc .—this is their only purpose .
