2017-2018
When visiting for the first time, I immediately felt there was something special about this exceptional orchestra in such a vibrant community. Therefore, it is a tremendous honour for me to lead the upcoming season of the KSO with vision and passion, following the great legacy of Music Director Emeritus Bruce Dunn.
Every concert of this 41st season will highlight the outstanding quality of the musicians of the orchestra. Music lovers will be delighted to hear masterworks from Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann and Brahms. It will also be an occasion to discover some rarely performed works from Borodin, Ravel and Copland, and some captivating works from Canadian composers Pierre Mercure, John Estacio and Tobin Stokes.
We are excited to present the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, offering a fantastic programme under their Music Director Bramwell Tovey. Throughout the season, we will also receive renowned guest artists Mark Ferris, Avan Yu, Scott Brooks and Sheng Cai, who will bring virtuosity and electricity to the stage.
The musicians of the orchestra and I are eager to share with you this season of Masterworks, Pops and Chamber music concerts where high artistry will meet authenticity and spontaneity!
