Choreography workshop for approximate ages 10 to 13 will be held daily from 9:30am to 1:00pm Monday, June 26 through Friday, June 30. This workshop, suited to dancers with different levels of dance/theater experience, is intended for those interested in Choreography. The workshop will give each participant the opportunity to develop a movement vocabulary. Dance and theater techniques, improvisation, art projects and poetry are part of our daily work. We explore movement manipulation, repetition, transition, timing, and unison and non-unison movement. As we experiment with elements of dance, choreography, and critique, we learn how to expand upon our own discoveries while listening and learning from each other. On Friday, June 30 at 12:30, we will cap the week with an informal sharing for families and friends. Tuition is $265.00. 3-day Creative Movement & Art workshop held daily from Monday, July 10 through Wednesday, July 12. Approximate ages 4 & 5, from 9:00am to 11:00am. 5-day Creative Movement & Art workshops held daily from Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14. Approximate ages 6 to 8, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. The workshops focus on exploring movement with the added dimension of art projects. Through creative movement and art, children explore their own movement vocabulary and become aware of other children’s innate movement, different from their own. We focus on expression of feelings and tackling movement problems. At times the art involvement precedes a movement experience, other times the movement stimulates our exploration of an art activity. The interdisciplinary approach to movement and art helps children connect with elements common to many art forms, such as shapes, spaces, patterns, rhythms and textures. Tuition for the 3 day is $80. Tuition for the 5 day is $125.00.

MAINE FRENCH EXCHANGE Address: 146 Gurnet Road, Brunswick, Me Phone: 592-2821 Email: [email protected] Website: www.mainefrenchexchange.com Facebook: themainefrenchexchange Age group: French teens stay with host families Weeks Offered: June 24-July 14, July 14-August 4 Cost: No cost for families to participate Financial aid offered? Yes Are you interested in having an addition to your family for three weeks this summer? Have you ever been interested in a cultural exchange program but thought a commitment of one year was too long? The Maine-French Exchange program may be the perfect fit for you and your family. Aaron and Angela Gilbert have been given the opportunity to direct a program in which young people from France can visit the United States and gain a better understanding of the American culture. There are two groups of teens coming this year. The first group will arrive on June 24th and return to France on July 14th. The second group of students will arrive July 14th and return to France on August 4th. We are seeking host families who are willing to give one of these inquiring young French teenagers a peek into your unique, American way of life. These young people are coming to America to experience your lifestyle, and to enhance their English skills. There are two programs available. The first is Full Immersion. This teen comes to your home and becomes a part of your family. They help with normal household duties and simply enjoy the wonderful Maine days of summer doing whatever it is your family normally does. Take them along when you go shopping, to the beach, or on a special outing with your immediate family. The second program is Family Helper. These are older, i.e. 16-19year old teens. They will help you with your children while you mow the lawn, paint the back porch, or get caught up on all those household duties, etc. Many families with little ones have found this extra set of hands and eyes a welcome relief during the long days of summer. The teens are interviewed in France by our French exchange agency and must meet high character qualifications. Each French candidate completes a two-page comprehensive profile, with photo, which describes them, their interests, family size, likes and dislikes. You are given the opportunity to review these profiles and select the young person who matches your family’s interests. You can be specific! You can choose a boy or girl, and the age you prefer. All teens arrive with pocket money and are fully medically insured. The only expectation from a family is that your new French friend will find love and acceptance in your home. Yes Megunticook Rowing Junior program serves youth rowers between the ages of 13-18 in the Midcoast region. Based out of Megunticook Lake which is nestled in the Camden Hills, Megunticook Rowing provides a fun rowing program and introduction to a team sport that encourages and emphasizes good sportsmanship and individual responsibility. Team members are encouraged to achieve personal as well as team goals. Through regularly scheduled practices, Megunticook Rowing will improve the physical fitness of our youth through training and goal setting. No experience is necessary to be a part of Megunticook Rowing. We are a co-ed program, but the boys and girls compete separately. The Megunticook Rowing coaching staff are former competitive college rowers with a long history of coaching athletes to achieve at the highest levels. The coaches will work to instill and enhance the athlete's self esteem, self-discipline, team reliance and personal fitness through a rigorous 5 or 6 day a week training program. Rowing is the ultimate team sport and our program will teach valuable skills of teamwork, dedication, accountability, sportsmanship, athleticism, motivation, confidence, perseverance, goal setting, time management, and the rewards of hard work. Part of our mission is to make rowing available to all who would like to row. Private sculling lessons can be scheduled outside of regular class times; there is an additional cost. A key facet of rowing that is often overlooked is the position of Coxswain. These are the folks who steer, give commands, keep the crew “pumped,” and are basically “in charge” of the crew. It is a very important job! If you are small (female or male), want to join an amazing sport, and like the idea of taking command, we need you! Coxing is an excellent way to learn rowing technique while you wait for your growth spurt to kick in! Financial aid is available for qualified students. A Financial Aid Application is available to download on our website and should be submitted with your registration forms. All requests will be held in total confidence. .

Yes ABOUT THE CAMP Toddy Pond Farm camp offers children and young adults ages 4-11 the opportunity to experience hands on farming on a sustainable family farm. Through work with the animals, gardening, and nature exploration our time together will emphasize the connection between healthy pastures, healthy animals, healthy food, and a healthy planet. Participants will start the day in morning circle gathering together to make a plan for the day. From there we’ll head out for our morning “farm walk” a daily check-in with all the animals to make sure everyone is happy and healthy. Since all of the animals are on pasture for the summer this can be quite a tour! Some of the chores include bringing feed and fresh water to the pigs and piglets that run in a large section of lower pasture and woodland. We’ll gather fresh grown greens for the dairy cows (who love a treat from the garden after milking) and sweep out the barn; replenish the minerals and water for the sheep and lambs, visit the chickens and pigs, and more! Following check-ins with the animals we’ll break for a snack before jumping into our project time. Children will have the choice of working on several short projects throughout the week such as wool felting, crafts, ice cream making, or honey extracting, or delving into a larger week long collaborative project which may include small construction projects, or working on a large farm mural. Campers will have lunch together followed by quiet time/free play, nature journaling, reading or games. Each afternoon we’ll head out to the vegetable garden for seasonal work there--whether it's planting seeds, squashing potato bugs, picking berries or harvesting

veggies for the farm stand it's sure to be fun (and dirty) work! Of course we’ll make time to wash and eat some of our harvest for a healthy afternoon snack. Then, a bit more fun and games in the shade, a hike up Hustus Hill, or exploring the streams and edges of Toddy Pond for pond life, before we head out for an afternoon farm walk to check the animals once more. We’ll end each week by inviting parents to join us on our afternoon farm walk to meet the animals, experience the farm, and then retire to the shade for a picnic from the garden and homemade ice cream!
