Al-Biruni Institute of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences is the beginning of a group of professionals. The program of Doctor of Physical Therapy (Physiotherapy) and Rehabilitation Sciences has become a very popular program across the world with full fledge national and international acceptance. This is a newly born Institute established in 2017 with a vision to impart education.

The Institute of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences has been started with the commitment of blending the field of Physiotherapy with Medical Sciences. This Institute is going to take successfully it’s second batch (2018-19) and it is committed to provide an excellent environment linked up with societal values and discipline. Al-Biruni Institute of Physical (Physiotherapy) Therapy is located in heart land of Gulistan-e-Sajjad, Qasimabad, Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. The Pakistan has four provinces namely: Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunistan (NWFP), and Balochistan. The Hyderabad is the second largest city of the Province of Sindh.

Al-Biruni (IPT&RS) is located nearer to Hyderabad city Bypass and is easily accessible by Air, Railway and Bus services. The International Airport is located at Karachi which is the largest city of Pakistan and is around one and Half hour drive to our Institute. The Hyderabad Railway Station is at the distance of about 3 kilometers away from our Institute and there is also local transport operational near the Institute.

The beauty of AL-Biruni (IPT&RS) inspires the fact that it is surrounded by the famous archeological sites like Pacca Fort, Katcha Fort, Tombs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (R.A) at Bhit Shah, Tomb of Mian Ghulam Shah Kalhoro and Mirs Tombs of the ancient rulers of Sindh, including the Tomb of Allama II Kazi. a great scholar.The Baadshahi Mosque built by Mughal Emperor King Shah Jahan is located in the city of Thatta nearby Keenjhar Lake which is also a worth visiting spot. Moreover, this Institute is also surrounded with the renowned educational institutions and great centers of learning like: University of Sindh, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), at Jamshoro, and Sindh Agricultural University, Tando Jam. The Al-Biruni Institute is also located at the distance of 03 kilometers near Indus River which is a wonderful Picnic point. Besides, the Sindh Museum and Institute of Sindhiology are also in near vicinity of our Institute to understand the culture of Sindh. The Hyderabad city is also connected with the Kotri Industrial area, and Rural areas of Sindh which are agriculturally rich in production of wheat, rice, cotton, fruits (Dates, Banana, mangoes, oranges, and olive etc.) and is also connected with the Textile, Cotton Industries, Rice and Sugar Mills.

Karachi is the capital of Sindh province, and is the largest, most populous, and commercial city built on maritime success and is proud of its heritage. Shipping is the most integral part of this city for centuries which is reflected both in the local architecture and cultural life of Karachi. It is the largest city of Pakistan, and the Province of Sindh located on the coast of the Arabian Sea, North-West of Indus River. It is famous because of cultural, economical, philanthropic, educational hub as well as largest Sea Port of the Pakistan. It is also called as the city of lights and is financial and i n d u s t r i a l c e n t r e o f Pa k i s t a n ' s e c o n o m y. T h i s c i t y i s o n e a n d h a l f h o u r d r i v e f r o mAl-Biruni (IPT&RS). It is now the major city for trade of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

12ACADEMIC BLOCK:This building is beautifully built and located in the city center of Gulstan-e-Sajjad, Qasimabad, Hyderabad near Bypass and Wali Bhai Rajputana Hospital. This building has Lecture Halls, Laboratories Auditorium, Tutorial Rooms, Computer Lab, Library and Offices for Faculty members.

HOSPITAL:The Al-Biruni Institute of Physiotherapy is affiliated with “Bone Care Trauma Center Hospital”. It is approximately 100 bedded hospital and well equipped specially for Orthopedic Surgery and also have a well

functional setup for clinical practice in the field of physiotherapy. This hospital deals in all fields of clinical sciences which range from cardiovascular, pulmonary and neurological problem etc. It is located in Hirabad and it is 3 kilometer away from building of Al-Biruni Institute of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences.

The humanitarian services which Bone Care Trauma Center Hospital is providing in city center of Hyderabad are really appreciateable. Patients from urban and rural areas are being benefitted at this Hospital. This hospital no doubt is best platform for Physiotherapists to groom and master their skills in the field of Physiotherapy.

FACILITIES:Al-Biruni Institute of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences is well equipped with learning resources and facilities like Computers with Networking Facilities, Audio-Visual Equipments, Library, Canteen, Transport etc.

HOSTELS: Al-Biruni (IPT&RS) is committed to provide the residential facilities to the male and female students. All the hostels are comfortable for boarding and lodging.

AUDIO VISUAL FACILITIES:All the lectures will be conducted with the help of audio visual devices like multimedia, over head projector, video films etc. in order to make the teaching more interactive, effective and interesting.

COMPUTER FACILITIES:The institute has its own Broadband facility which will keep

our students connected with global world which has become a global village.

CANTEEN: The canteen caters lunch and snacks, with timely services to the students, faculty members and rest of the working staff.

LIBRARY:The library is beautifully built and stocks 1500/= text books, reference books to meet needs of the students. The library has its own audio-video collections along with online internet facility to keep the students and faculty members connected with new emerging information and new

techniques in the field of Physiotherapy.

JAMIA MASJID:The Masjid “Zuljilal” is located near the building of AL-Biruni (IPT&RS) and has the capacity to accommodate almost 500 people.

TRANSPORT:The Institute will also provide transport facility on demand and the vehicles will be rented out to provide this facility.

SPORTS:The building currently provides place for indoor games like Table Tennis and Basketball.

The physical therapy which is also known as physiotherapy due to its dynamic nature of profession and is concerned with rehabilitation of patients visiting to OPD or admitted in hospitals for treatment of their disability related to pain, disease or injury through physical therapeutic measures.The disability ranges from orthopedic problems to cardiopulmonary, neurological, prosthetic & orthotics, where application of physical therapy plays a dynamic role to restore health back to normal.This is five year undergraduate full time study program. There are two semesters in each year and duration of each semesters will be 18 weeks. The concepts related to the Basic Medical Sciences, Communication Skills and Basic Physiotherapy will be covered in first two years and last three years will deal with Clinical Medical Sciences along with practical physical therapy applications at Bone Care Trauma Center Hospital and Al-Biruni Institute of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Sciences.

Faculty Advisors:Faculty advisors are assigned a task of looking after the students to help them in academic matters and monitoring their programs throughout academic year.

Attendance Rule:The students are required to achieve 80% of attendance to enable them to appear in Final Certifying Examination as per policy of Institute.

Registrations: The students will be registered for a particular course before start of a semester and guidelines will be provided by admissions office of Al Biruni (IPT&RS)

The Al-Biruni Institute of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences invite applications for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs, where admissions are granted based on academic competence and an entry test that ensures the high quality of student entrants. The affordable and convenient fee packages offer young students a viable opportunity for career advancement and higher learning.

ADMISSIONS

24Admission Criteria:The admission criteria will be as follow:

Admission Policy: Admissions will be on merit basis and short listed candidates in entry test will be interviewed by the committee for final selection. The students waiting for HSC/A level results can also appear in entry test but they will be granted provisional admission upon selection and their admission will stand cancelled automatically, if the students fail to attain the required minimum qualification with minimum 60% in intermediate.

Application Procedure:Application for admission must be submitted on the prescribed form enclosed with this prospectus. Photocopy or computer print out of the form will not be accepted. However, international students applying from outside Pakistan may print out the admission form the website. Incomplete applications in any respect will not be considered.

Attested copies of the following certificates and testimonials should be submitted with the application form:

The applications for admission should reach the Admissions office on or before the specified date.

The written test will be taken and for that sample test paper is available which will be provided to the students who will complete the requirements of application form and register for admission test. The prospectus and application forms are available on Website www.albiruni.edu.pk and at the branch of MCB Bank Ltd. located at Latifabad # 07 opposite American Hospital.

The test will be conducted at building of Al-Biruni Institute of Physical & Rehabilitation Sciences. The schedule for conducting the test will be communicated through announcement in Media and posts or emails submitted at the time of registration.

25Dress Code:The females are required to wear long sleeves shirts with white apron and have to use scarves to cover their heads. Male students are also required to wear neat and clean pent and shirt in order to ensure pleasant environment for learning and grooming.

Fee Package: The schedule wise payment of fee of DPT Degree program is listed according to nationality and residential status of the students. This fee package does not include the Hostel fee, transportation and other dues which are subject to modification from time to time.

Note: As per Government directive 5% Advance Tax will be charged over total fee (The tax will be applicable on the amount of two lac and above fee). Any additional tax imposed by the Government will be liability of the students/parents/guardian. 5.5% package of admission fee will be charged from each student except security deposit which is refundable.

Fee for repeating / reappearing course (s):A student repeating course(s) has to pay tuition fee along with examination fee.

Payment of Fees:The fee installments of packages and dues are payable by a bank draft in the name of Al-Biruni Foundation to be deposited in MCB Bank located at Latifabad No.7, Hyderabad.

Late fee:The student, who fails to pay the installments of fee package within the prescribed period, will be charged the penalty based on the current per day bank rate. The dues inclusive of the penalty are payable until two weeks before commencement of the examination, failing which the concerned student will not be allowed to sit in the examination.
