TroubleshootingWho is eligible to earn the discount? Active employees and their covered spouses are eligible for the incentives. Retirees and dependents may participate in the program but are not eligible to earn the medical rate discounts.
How do I earn the discount? Earningthediscountforactiveemployeesiseasy.Justcorrectly complete your online health assessment by November 30,2018.Thencompleteoneoffourwellnessengagementoptionsbythecorrespondingduedate,andyoucanearnthe$600 medical rate discount for active employees.
How does my spouse earn a discount? Toearnthe$300discount,yourcoveredspousemustcomplete the online health assessment on their own mycigna.comaccount(nottheemployee’smycigna.comaccount)byNovember30,2018,aswellascompleteoneofthefouravailablewellnessoptionsbyMarch8,2019.
WhatisthemaximumdiscountIcanearn? Employees in the employee only or employee + children tier can earn a $600 annual medical rate discount. Employees in the employee + spouse or employee + family tier can earn up to a $900 annual medical rate discount.
WhydoesOptionAhaveadifferentendingdate? Preventivecareactivitiestakelongertoreport,sothoseactivitiesneedtobecompletedbyJanuary31,2019tobeincluded.
IfIdon’ttaketheonlinehealthassessment,canIstillparticipate in the Wellness program and earn my discount? No. The online health assessment is a prerequisite to Wellness participation. If you do not complete the health assessment by November30,2018,youarenoteligibletoearnamedicalratediscount.
I just started working at the City of Houston. Am I required to take the health assessment? EmployeeswithbenefitseffectiveonorafterSeptember1,2018,areexemptfromtakingtheonlinehealthassessment,and will be eligible for the annual discounted rates.
I’mdueforanotherannualphysicalafterthehealthassessmentperiodendsNovember30,2018.HowshouldIget my biometric measurements? Asinpreviousyears,free,confidentialbiometricscreeningswillbeavailableatworksitesthroughoutthecity,butappointmentswill be limited this year. Be sure to make an appointment as soon as they become available. You can also make an appointment with your doctor and pay a copay or coinsurance to get your measurements.
How do I know when I have completed the requirements to earn a discount? WhenyoulogintoMyCigna.com,youandyourcoveredspouse will see a percentage completed toward your goal. Earn100percentbycompletingthehealthassessment(10percent)andwellnessengagementoptions(90percent)bythedeadlines to earn up to a $900 discount on your 2018 medical plan rate. Employees with a covered spouse on their plan willneedtoearn200percent(100percentforyou,theactiveemployee,and100percentforyourspouse).Allowatleast60-90 days for preventive care activities to be auto-reported. You mustself-reportdentalorvisionexams,Vaccinations(Shingles,Tetanus,Varicella,HepatitisAandB,and/orPneumonia),Introductory Onsite Nutrition Coaching visit and EAP Coaching visit.
