Kimmel Center Cultural Campus

Dear friends, Welcome to our Merriam Theater and the Philadelphia premiere of the brand-new show, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. From page to stage, this production brings celebrated bestselling author Rick Riordan’s characters to life for fans of all ages. As we move into the new year, we hope our Philadelphia neighbors discover new and exciting arts experiences happening across our Kimmel Center Cultural Campus. We also resolve to continue to welcome broad and diverse audiences into our venues; did you know, according to research, we serve more millennials than any other arts organization in the city? Families are invited to mix & match programming that appeals to a variety of ages and abilities through our ongoing Family Discovery Series. With book and television favorites brought to life in productions like Paw Patrol Live, Peg + Cat, and American Girl Live, to international percussion experiences like KODO, we want even the littlest arts lovers to experience the transformative power of the arts. Be swept away by Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella; be awed by the mystery and magic in The Illusionists – Live From Broadway; and be uplifted by dance as never before in Rennie Harris: Funkedified. 2019 brings with it a continuation of our Jazz Residency, now in its sixth year. This season-long program that supports artists through the creation of new jazz in the city of Philadelphia. With kickoffs, workshops, work-in- progress events, and world premiere performances, these artistic teams will present personal “Philly Made” pieces – work that was created as part of and through the lens of our city & community. We encourage you to join us for the process – events are FREE, with ticketed world premiere performances. Don’t miss out on any Kimmel Center news by following us on social media and subscribing to our weekly Ovation e-newsletter. Warmly,
