Anniversary and birthday blessings occur monthly. Check the TBE calendar for dates.

B’Yachad (Together) – The TBE Caring Committee Do you want to help?

Prepare a meal or bake sweets for a congregant or family during an illness or crisis.

Transport congregants to Shabbat services, doctor appointment, or any errands/grocery shopping.

Set up or participate in shiva minyan or prepare food for someone that has had a loss.

Last year they created a Shabbat learning experience and organized a campaign to help make Illinois a welcoming State. This year they are exploring working with HIAS (the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) for TBE to sponsor a Refugee family, and they welcome your help.

Scholar in Residence: Professor Daniel Matt Save-the-Date May 17 - 19, 2019

Daniel Chanan Matt is a scholar of Kabbalah and a professor at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. He received Ph.D. from the Brandeis University and taught at Stanford University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Matt is best known for establishing the Pritzker translation of the book of Zohar and translating the first nine volumes of the twelve volume series. Say it in Hebrew is a conversational program that emphasizes learning the everyday language spoken in Israel so that it is practical, relevant and effective for real life. While the focus is on conversation, reading and writing is also taught. Five levels of instruction are offered.
