2018—
An End-of-Year Update
We are extremely excited to close this year alongside our friends and
family—including you. As a member of our community, you are incredibly
important to us, and we want to keep you up to date on what we’re doing
here at EDF. We’re so excited to tell you about our tremendously
successful year.
Attendance of our on-site support groups has increased by almost 40%
compared to the previous year, and we have already welcomed more than
250 new members in 2018. In that time, we’ve also expanded our support
groups to include an LGBTQ+ group, a group for adolescents, an art
journaling group in Boulder, and groups in Vail, Montrose, and Colorado
Springs—with more to come.
Our donors and volunteers really blew us away this year. Nearly
$300,000 was raised at the EDF Gala in April; our NEDA Walk drew
record attendance; and our Coffee and Conversation workshops
consistently brought fascinating and overwhelmingly popular
conversations to EDF.
As our community continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming new
members, connecting with a broad range of professionals, and creating
exciting new programs. We know that with the hard work of our
staff and volunteers, and with our supporters behind us, 2019 is
going to be a great year—allowing us to bring the same quality of
service to the community that you have come to expect from us.
Please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected]
or 303.322.3373. We have been extremely pleased to work with all of you
this year, and hope we can continue to make a difference together through
your engagement with EDF.
Sincerely,
Dani, Sabrina, and McKenna

We know you—because we’ve been you.
We strongly believe in the power of connection, meaning-
ful conversations, and creating a community of like-
minded individuals—factors we attribute to living a life to-
wards recovery.
Earlier this year, EDF was pleased to announce the relaunch of its
mentorship program. Now, over two dozen members of our com-
munity are starting on their journey toward recovery and resiliency
together. This 10-week program will provide one-on-one support
during weekly connections. If you want to participate, don’t miss
out—applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Visit our
website for more information about how to apply.

COLORADO GIVES DAY IS JUST
AROUND THE CORNER
This year’s NEDA Walk was our biggest yet.
Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, walkers,
and sponsors, we gathered over 300 communi-
ty members to raise awareness and vital funds
to support the millions of individuals affected
by eating disorders. 3

EDF in the past year?
WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK!
EDF strives to provide hope and support to
individuals affected by eating disorders. In
order to make sure that our programs are as
helpful and effective as possible, and to en-
sure that we are accountable to our support-
ers, we need your honest feedback!
Whether you have been to a support group,
attended a workshop, used our space, or
called us for help, we’d love to hear from
you.
Giving us your opinion—as honest and
thoughtful as possible—should only take five
or ten minutes of your time. This infor-
mation is for internal use only. Filling out
the questionnaire is anonymous and totally
confidential.

Colorado’s largest day of giving takes place on
Tuesday, December 4. On this day, thousands
of people come together to support Colorado
nonprofits. It’s approaching fast—you can
schedule your donation today.
When you donate to The Eating Disorder
Foundation, you’re helping us provide educa-
tional resources and no-cost support to those
with eating disorders, those in recovery, and
their friends and families. EDF is the only
completely free and non-clinical re-
source in Colorado—and one of very
few nationally—that is accessible to eve-
ryone, regardless of income, insurance,
health status, weight, diagnosis, race, gender,
or sexual identity.
This month, help us take advantage of the $1
Million Incentive Fund and reach our goal of
$20,000. Schedule your donation at

EDF BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
ABOUT EDF
The Eating Disorder Foundation
(EDF) was founded in 2003 to
meet a long-overdue need in the
Denver mental health communi-
ty. At the time, no nonprofit
organization in the state was
devoted solely to issues involving
eating disorders or to providing
no-cost support to those with
eating disorders, those in recov-
ery, and their friends and fami-
lies.
As the Foundation evolves it will
continue to break the silence,
serve those with eating disor-
ders, and cultivate hope for re-
covery. EDF provides a support-
ive environment for all those
who courageously set out to
achieve and sustain healthier,
more fulfilled lives, and to better
equip the wider community to
provide necessary support.
EDF is working to create helpful and effective support groups for all mem-
bers of the community. In the past year, we have been thrilled to announce
several new support groups to meet the unique needs of our community, as
well as populations beyond Denver. See the group schedule on our website!
We are now offering the following groups:
