Fire Chief Scott Frandsen will present an informative program on the management of this full service department including the role of permitting, dock inspections, regulations and community fire prevention. For more information go to page 7. Camdenton, Lake Area and Lake West Chambers attend the Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development (LOREDC) Annual Meeting Addressing Regional Cooperation. Business and Community Leaders met in January 2017 at the Lodge of Four Seasons for the annual meeting of the Lake of the Ozarks Regional Eco- nomic Development Council (LOREDC). The Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Devel- opment Council (LOREDC) announced the recipients of the LOREDC Annual Awards that honor persons/busi- nesses in the tri-county region. In addition to the awards, the LOREDC Annual Membership Meeting was very informative and included updates on LOREDC’s marketing efforts, legislative issues, housing study, Council of Local Governments, marketing partners grant recipient and presentations on Lake of the Ozarks Workforce by Ronda Anderson, Workforce Research Manager for Missouri Economic Research and Information Center and Michael Kearney, Director of Economic Development for the Ameren Corporation. Collaboration Continues Between Camdenton, Lake Area and Lake West Chambers of Commerce.The Boards of Directors of the Camdenton, Lake Area and Lake West Chambers of Commerce met on February 2nd to further discussion ideas to work together on joint endeavors for the betterment of the chamber membership and the Lake area business community.The half-day session included a review of current joint efforts and the opportunities for future collaboration with the areas of concentration. In 2017, the three chambers proactively collaborated on the following:• Joint Legislative Reception held in January• Joint Community Profile and Business Directory• Eggs and Issues Breakfast meetings, three joint cham-

ber networking socials in March, August and Novem-ber and two Speed Leads Luncheons

• Official Lake of the Ozarks Map• Community Job Fair held in April 2017• A joint marketing booth at the Overland Park Boat

Show and St Charles Sport Show.Other ideas discussed for future collaboration included legislation, committee appointment for website/market-ing efforts, expanded distribution for chamber directory/map, and special events.The Chamber Collaborative Task Force was created as the result of a membership survey taken in May 2011 in which collaboration was a common theme throughout the survey.

Lake Chambers Join Forces For Water SafetyThe Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council thanks everyone for their support of Wear Your Life Jacket to Work Day that was held on Friday, May 19, 2017. The Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council joined boating professionals and boating enthusiasts to heighten awareness of different life jacket types that are available, including inflatable life jackets, and demonstrate their comfort and versatil-ity by wearing them to work.The annual event, hosted by the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) serves as a fun, educational element just prior to National Safe Boating Week May 20-26, the official launch of the 2017 North American Safe Boating Campaign.During a photo opportunity on Friday, May 19th, Representative Diane Franklin presented a Certificate Resolution along with an official Proclamation from Missouri Governor Greitens to the Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council, Missouri Highway Patrol - Marine Division and community leaders.

2018 OFFICIAL LAKE OF THE OZARKS MAP UNDERWAY The Camdenton Area, Lake Area and Lake of the Ozarks West Chambers of Commerce are again collaborating in the production of a Lake wide Community Map and has authorized Lake Media to produce the official map for distribution in late Spring 2018.

2018 Ameren Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks Eagle DaysA collective partnership with the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitor Bureau, Osage National Golf Resort, FaceLift Market-ing, School of the Osage Heritage Elementary and Missouri Master Naturalist – Lake of the Ozarks Chap-ter, announces Ameren Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days 2018 will return to Lake Ozark in January. Mark your calendars now for January 6 - 7, 2018 for this entertaining and educational event. Locations for this weekend event are School of the Osage Heritage Elementary, Willmore Lodge Visitors Center, Bagnell Dam Access, Osage National Golf Resort and Celebra-tion Cruise II on the Strip. 30th Annual Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals Registration is Officially Open!The 30th An-nual Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals will take place May 4-6th, 2018 on the Bagnell Dam Strip. The Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals is a unique show for all makes, models, and years of cars, trucks and motorcycles. The show celebrated its 29th year in 2017 with beautiful weather and close to 10,000 spectators. We bring over 29 years of show experience to Lake of the Ozarks. The strip is closed to normal traffic during show hours on Saturday, so we only have show vehicles within the boundaries. This creates and absolutely electric atmosphere! Some say it’s like being on the set of “American Graffiti”. Registration opened January 1st and is strictly limited to 1,000 entries. 6th Annual Cocktails & Caddies Golf Tournament ScheduledThe Lake Area Chamber will host its popu-lar Cocktails & Caddies Ladies Golf Tournament on Friday, April 13th, 2018. This fun ladies-day-out will feature a luncheon where teams made up of three women bid on their fourth player, a male, and their sponsored prize package dur-ing a live auction. 25th Annual Midwest Wine & Brew Festival The 25th Annual Midwest Wine & Brew Festival will take place on Saturday, August 11th from 2-5pm at The Lodge of Four Seasons Resort. Wineries and Breweries from across the Midwest will gather to provide guests with samples of some of their finest as well as giving attendees the opportunity to purchase their favorites before leaving the event. Additional vendors will also be at the event selling a variety of products related to the wine and beer industry. Young Professionals at the LakeTheir mission is connect-ing young professionals to foster community engage-ment, exchange ideas and support the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s mission and activities. They meet the first Wednesday of every other month and also sponsor quarterly Lunch & Learns. They volunteer their time hosting the Annual Dodgeball Tournament which proceeds go to local non-profit organizations. Christmas on the Square The Springlike day was perfect for 2nd Running of the Elves 5K on Saturday, December 2nd in Camdenton. More than fifty –five elves displayed their holiday spirit along the journey from the Courthouse to the Camdenton City Park and to the Camdenton square.
