Part I: Overview

A lot is always changing in the lives of Sujamy - you all know we are fast moving and don’t like to stay still for too long. We’re able to live a really happy life and pretty much do whatever we want while still being successful in our careers thanks to the love & support from our friends and family - aka our stakeholders. This update is to thank you and show the returns you’ve yielded from your investment in us.

Part II: Professional Lives

For Sujan, this was a year of culmination - he was able to remove himself from day-to-day operations of his digital marketing agency, has achieved the goal of running multiple businesses (he now owns 7!), and has continued to leverage the strong personal brand he established over the last 4 years.

For those of you that may not be aware, Sujan has been running the digital marketing agency, Web Profits, as well as Ramp Ventures with his business partner, Bob Senoff. Ramp Ventures acquires and operates multiple SaaS (Software as a Service) companies - they have acquired 2 companies in the last 12 months. Sujan really defined balance in his life this year by losing 20 pounds, hiring a team to free up time in advance to spend with Amy and the new baby - he has a great balance of health, work, and fun without it impacting his success!

Amy has been blazing her way up the corporate ladder. From Neutrogena (Johnson & Johnson) to Planning Elegance to Genentech (Roche) to business school to IBM and now to Thermo Fisher Scientific. Amy currently holds the position of Senior Manager, Product Management for the Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) business unit - she manages nine direct reports and is responsible for revenue and profit of an entire product line.

Since Amy is such a badass, she recently had the opportunity to choose between two different director-level positions, in which leadership was fighting over her for! Once she’s back to work from Maternity leave in January 2019, Amy will be in her new position as Director of Strategy and Business Development for Analytical Technologies at Thermo Fisher. This is an increase in salary, title and responsibility - over-seeing four product lines and developing new business opportunities as well as leading the strategy for this portfolio and assessing M&A (merger and acquisition) opportunities.

Part III: Personal Lives

We love living in Austin - we’ve been here since May 2015 and this is the longest we’ve lived under one roof since we bought our home on East Riverside in November 2015. We’ve enjoyed the lake & river, visiting family close by in Houston, making new friends with open-minded people that have moved to Austin from all over the country, no traffic, and becoming TexMex taco people! Don’t forget about the NO STATE INCOME TAX, much lower cost of living, and cheap gas - Amy never forgets about the cheap things in life.

Our most drastic personal changes happened on the health/body front...

Sujan got back into exercising 5-6 times a week, eating healthy (with ice cream as a good exception), and intermittent fasting. He also started taking his motorcycle to the track after years of lolly-gagging - he rides on the world famous COTA (Circuit of the Americas) and is a member of Harris Hill Raceway.

Amy has been pregnant for the last nine or so months - something she’s honestly been afraid of for as long as she can remember. At this point, her fear has been wasted - she breezed through the pregnancy like a champ with no morning sickness, working hard until the very end, and limited complaining. The next challenge will be to see if she can continue to control her coffee addiction post-pregnancy.

Part IV: Goals

Part V: Travel

May 2018 - Baby Moon in Italy: Amalfi Coast, Naples, Milan

We’re sharing with you a map that Sujan got for our 9 year wedding anniversary - the black dots are pins indicating the places we’ve travelled to together - we plan on keeping this map growing and using different colored pins for where we travel to with Mavi. We already have San Francisco, Phoenix, and Cancun planned for travels with the baby so far!

Part VI: What’s Next?

Baby Yes, we FINALLY had a baby after over 10 years of marriage and 13 total years of being together. Here is your introduction to Maverick Amir Sujan. The definition of Maverick is “an unorthodox or independent-minded person”. This accurately describes the both of us and the lives we strive to live every day, we hope to pass this way of life on to little Mavi (lots of nicknames already - Mavi, Mav, Ricky Bobby, Bhupendra, Bhupi, Bhopu, CBIP…).

Mavi was born on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 2:15 pm at 5.5 pounds and 19.75 inches. His first disgusting poopy diaper was cleaned by his wonderful and loving father. Amy was a total champ throughout her time at the hospital - totally calm & collected. She brought our son into this world after 14 hours of active labor, including 1.5 hours of pushing. Fun fact: Amy started having contractions while we were on our way to Taco Bell - of course she finished eating her vegetarian Mexican Pizza before we went to the hospital :)

More Balanced life We have worked our butts over the last 10 years and with Maverick taking over our lives now, we have decided to spend more time focusing on “living” rather purely growing our careers. Don’t take this the wrong way - we still want to continue dominating all aspects of life, but we also want to let you know that we are shifting our priorities to family and raising a kid that will live up to the name Maverick.

Thank you for investing in us! Our success is your success, we will continue to show positive future returns on your investment!

Love, Sujan, Amy & Maverick
