This year, CRA engaged at both the local and state level on behalf of its members when Independent Physician Associations began pressuring rheumatologists to make changes to their patients’ medications. In addition to corresponding directly with one southernCalifornia-based IPA, the CRA met with stateregulators at the Department of Managed HealthCare to raise concerns. We will continue working on issues rheumatologists face whether legislatively or regulatorily.

Collaboration helps augment CRA’s effectiveness. CRA works with groups and partners such as: } Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations } Arthritis Foundation } American College of Rheumatology } Other disease-specific patient groups such as the National Psoriasis Foundation } California Medical Association

CRA continued to participate in the Joint Advocacy Day with the California Arthritis Foundation and the National Psoriasis Foundation in Sacramento on May 8, 2017.

CRA also participates in a number of issue-basedcoalitions including the California Chronic Care Coalition and Californians Allied for Patient Protection.
