The golf staff is proud to present the Golf Calendar for the 2018 golf season. This calendar contains dates and details of the majority of golf events for the 2018 season. As always, this calendar is subject to change and we will update you with any additions, subtractions or adjustments as they occur throughout the year. For all of the latest details and to sign up for events, please log in to the Pinery Country Club website as well as ForeTees or the ForeTees App. We hope you find this calendar helpful when planning your golf event participation. General Information Tee times: Tuesday through Friday tee times can be made one (1) week in advance. Saturday and Sunday
times can be made through the lottery, which is drawn on Tuesday night, or starting on Wednesday morning. Tee times can be made via the Pinery website (www.thepinerycc.com), ForeTees or the ForeTees App, or by calling the Golf Shop (303-841-2450).
Event Signup: Members may sign up for golf events on ForeTees or the ForeTees App. Each event has its own start and cutoff date as well as a maximum number of players/teams. Event details are listed under each event in ForeTees.
Handicaps: $55 annually billed in February. All tournament participants are required to have a GHIN handicap index.
Lockers: $150 annually billed at the end of January. Locker billing includes shoe cleanings and spike
replacements throughout the year.
Bag Storage: $75 annually billed in February. Hole in One Club: No cost to join. Each time a member in the Hole-in-One Club makes a Hole-in-One, all
members of the HIO Club will be billed $5. The member making the Hole-in-One will receive a gift card for the total amount billed. Contact the Golf Shop to sign up.
Men’s Leagues & Associations
Men’s Golf Association (MGA): A season-long schedule of competitive men’s golf events with awards in the form of golf shop credit. Open to male Pinery golf members with a USGA Handicap. Events are held mainly on Saturday mornings, but also a few Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.
Senior Interclub: Open to all male golf members over the age of 50 with an established USGA
Handicap. Home and away matches versus 10-12 other local clubs. The format of the matches is Four-Ball Match Play and there is an individual Low Net game as well. For more information, please contact the Golf Shop or email John Cussen at [email protected].
Tuesday Night Men’s League: Members create teams of 10 to compete in a variety of 4-player 9
hole formats throughout a 12 week season for a fun social gathering during Tuesday evenings. Open to all adult male Pinery golf members with an established USGA handicap. Teams are created by each team’s captains and are carried over each year so new members must be recruited in order to join a team. Please contact Golf Shop to be added to the waitlist if you would like to be added to a team.

Ladies Leagues & Associations Pinery Ladies Golf Association (PLGA): 18 hole play on Wednesday mornings. Open to all Pinery women golf
members with a USGA handicap. All members of the PLGA must play to no more than a 40 handicap on all play days during the season.
Pinery Ladies 9 Hole Golf Association (9’ers): 9 hole play on Thursday mornings. This group is designed for
players who may not have enough time to play 18 holes during the week and for players that are newer to the game. Open to all Pinery women golf members with a USGA handicap.
Pinery Executive Ladies Golf Association (PELGA): 18 hole play on Saturday mornings. Open to all Pinery
women golf members with a USGA handicap who cannot participate in the PLGA league due to work commitments. PELGA does welcome non-working ladies; however, with a limited number of tee times available, preference is given to those who work during the week. Non-working PELGA members fill-in on a space available basis.
Twilight Ladies League: 9 hole play on Thursday evenings. Open to all Pinery women golf members and
single, dependent daughters between the ages of 18 – 23 with a USGA handicap. Women of all golf levels are invited to participate.

July Highlights
Men’s Preferential: The PREF is our annual Men’s Member-Guest event. Wednesday practice rounds followed by 6 nine hole formats on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Other activities include cocktail parties, dinners, closest to the pin contest, a derby, par 3 contest, tee gifts, Shootout and Awards Banquet.
Course closing: The course and practice facilities will be CLOSED for the PREF on Thursday the 12th through Saturday the 14th. We will reopen for regular play on Sunday the 15th.
Pinery Cup: The MGA Stroke Play Championship. 36 holes of Individual Stroke Play flighted by handicap. Morning tee times on both Saturday and Sunday.

Teams will be chosen by the 2 Captains and each team will have a member of the Professional Staff. Friday afternoon Chapman Scotch matches, Saturday morning Scotch matches, Saturday afternoon Four Ball matches and Sunday singles will determine the overall team winners. An additional fee will be charged to cover team uniforms and food and drink.

The Pinery Country Club - Current Local Rules
Power Lines If a ball strikes an overhead power line during play, the stroke is cancelled and the player must play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was played in accordance with rule 20-5. Note: The actual towers and poles supporting the power lines are considered obstructions. Any ball striking the actual towers or poles supporting such lines may NOT be replayed. No “line of flight” relief from poles or towers is allowed. Out of Bounds is designated by white stakes, Pinery roads or property border fences. Out of Bounds on #9 Mountain Cart path around the green (between the white stakes on the left side of the lake and the right side of the lake between Mountain #1 tee boxes) and all area beyond it is Out of Bounds. Drop Area on #9 Mountain A drop area has been provided on #9 of the Mountain course at the end of the fairway on the left. If a ball is in or it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found is in the water hazard (you may specify location ie: short of the green), the player may: Proceed under Rules 26; or as an additional option, drop a ball, under penalty of one stroke, in the drop area. Sandy Waste Area in Front of #12 Green (Valley #3) This area is not a bunker, it is a waste area. This is not a hazard; so you may take practice swings, remove loose impediments, and ground your club in this area. Drop Area on #8 Lake A drop area has been provided on #8 of the Lake course at the end of the foot bridge. Players may elect to drop a ball within the drop area circle at any time after their tee shot and incur a 1 stroke penalty in addition to any strokes already taken. IF A PLAYER, HIS PARTNER, HIS EQUIPMENT, OPPONENT, ANOTHER PLAYER OR ANY CADDIE IN STROKE PLAY ACCIDENTALLY MOVES THE PLAYER’S BALL OR BALL MARKER ON THE PUTTING GREEN THERE IS NO PENALTY AND THE BALL MUST BE REPLACED ON ITS ORIGINAL SPOT
Distance Measuring Devices During course of play at The Pinery, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device having additional functionality that can gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., elevation change, wind-speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used. Embedded Ball Rule Revision Whereas Rule 25-2 states an embedded ball can only be in any closely-mown areas through the green, The Pinery’s local rule revision is to include all locations through the green. Practice Before or Between Stipulated Rounds Rule 7-1b that prohibits practice on the course before or between stipulated rounds in stroke play competition is waived due to the nature of member play at the club including conflicts that could arise with "summer-long" events and other functions on the golf schedule. Listening to Music During Stipulated Round Decision 14-3/17 (under rule 14-3) that prohibits a player from listening to music or broadcast during a stipulated round will be waived during course of play at The Pinery. Players will be allowed to listen to music or play it from their cart. However, they must respect the wishes and the privacy of the other players in the group and on the course. If any other player(s) in the group do not wish to hear the music, it should be turned down or off. Any dispute in this matter should be brought to the committee. Addition to Rule 27 (Ball Lost or Out of Bounds) Any ball which crosses a public road defined as out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road, even though it may lie on another part of the course, is considered out of bounds. Rules Questions: If you are unsure of the correct ruling you can call the golf shop at 303-841-2850 for assistance. -or- In Match Play, make a decision within your match. All decisions made during a match are final. In Stroke Play, play 2 balls under both rulings. After the round, you must consult the rules committee to determine which ruling is correct.
