Enclosed is a package full of information regarding the 2018 PA Section 4 Championship that will be held in Indiana, PA from July 13th to July 17th 2018. The following checklist is to assist you during this exciting time. Your immediate attention to the items on this list would be greatly appreciated. Interstate 79 South to Route 422 East Route 422 East to Business 422 East (becomes Philadelphia St) Go through downtown Indiana to 2nd Street. Turn left on 2nd Street. At the 2nd stop sign (Oak Street) turn right. Turn left onto Gabriel Avenue. Fields are at the end of that street.

Team Registration & Managers Meeting Registration will be held on Friday, July 13th at 3:00 pm. The Team Manager and Coaches of Each Team must report to the Indiana Little League Complex, Indiana, PA for Registration. At registration please be prepared with the following items:

1. Proof of Age documentation 2. Proof of Residency documentation 3. Boundary Map / Appropriate Waivers 4. Medical Release Form 5. Eligibility Affidavit 6. All Team Equipment for review by Umpire in Chief

Simultaneous with Registration, Ground Rules and the Schedule of Events will be discussed.

Team Photos

At 3:40 pm on Friday, July 13th all Teams will report to Indiana LL Field #1 for a Team Photo

Opening Ceremonies

At 4:20 pm on Friday, July 13th all teams will participate (in uniform) in a brief opening ceremony. Please bring your District Championship Banners for display during the ceremony.

Housing

Food and housing will not be provided for teams, managers, and coaches. Teams will be responsible for any and all costs in these areas. See the list of motel accommodations on page 6. Team Managers must report their location to the tournament contacts once they are established. There is an abundance of eating establishments within minutes of the tournament site.

Section 4 T-Shirts may be available for sale! If so, T-Shirts must be Pre-ordered and picked-up at the Tournament. An Order form will be provided by email to each Team Manager.

PROCEDURES HIGHLIGHTS

1. The Tournament Rules and Regulations as published by Little League Baseball shall be binding and strictly enforced. Please Note that several Rules adopted at the LL Congress in May 2018 are NOT in the printed Rulebooks but are available online – search for Rule Updates.

2. Each manager must submit their eligibility affidavit, medical releases and all tournament eligibility information to the Tournament Director.

3. The team manager is responsible for uniforms and equipment (equipment will be checked by the Umpire-in-Chief prior to each game). Players must be in uniform with the Little League approved patch. Managers and coaches must wear pants or slacks. NO SHORTS are allowed.

4. Only manager, coaches and players listed on the official tournament eligibility affidavit are permitted in the dugout or on the playing field.

5. All batting helmets must be NOCSAE approved with the warning labels (no mirror-like helmets).

6. Catchers must wear a mask with approved helmet and throat guard.

7. Shoes with metal cleats or spikes shall not be worn by players, managers, coaches or umpires.

8. No jewelry will be allowed on the playing field regardless of the material. This includes earrings, necklaces, rings, and watches. Religious Medals and Medical alert items ARE PERMITTED.

9. NO TOBACCO OF ANY KIND permitted during the games.

10. Game balls will be supplied by the Host League.

11. All pregame practices will be assigned by the Host League. A short infield/outfield warm-up may be allowed if conditions permit. This warm-up may or may not be on the game field.

12. Dugout Assignment: The team listed on the top of the official bracket will occupy the First Base Dugout. The team on the bottom of the official bracket will occupy the Third Base Dugout.

13. Home Team Selection: The game field is neutral for each game. A coin-flip will determine home/visiting teams.

14. Fifteen minutes prior to the game start, managers, coaches, umpires and the game director will meet at home plate to conduct the coin-flip, review the ground rules, and answer any pregame questions.

15. Both teams will line-up as directed by the tournament director when introduced and remain there for the National Anthem and the Little League Pledge.

16. Both teams will meet at the home plate area immediately at the conclusion of the game and shake hands.

17. Complimentary refreshments will be served to both teams after each game.

18. Each participant will be awarded a State Pin. At the conclusion of the tournament, the winning team will be awarded a PA Section 4 Championship Banner.

19. Your conduct and that of your team must be above reproach at all times.

Notes: Parking – Parking Lots are available South of Kovalchick Field and East of Creps Field. Street Parking beyond the intersection of Gabriel Ave. and Clairvaux Drive is also available. Concessions – There are two Concession Stands: one each at the Kovalchick & IRMC Fields. Restrooms – Four Public Restrooms are available: Two at each Concession Stand Building. Four Lighted Fields - The Kowalchick Field & IRMC Field are the primary Baseball Fields, the Creps United Field is the primary Softball Field and the S&T Field is the primary T-Ball and Machine Pitch Baseball Field. Team Registration – will be conducted under a Canopy set-up between Creps United and Kovalchick Fields. Indiana LL Recycles – In cooperation with Indiana Borough, Indiana LL recycles all Aluminum & Plastic. Please help by using the Containers provided.
