2 GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE May 2018

Dear Brother Knights,

As Easter season continues through Pentecost Sunday on May 20, our Easter celebration contin-

ues. I hope you and your family continue to grow in faith in the glory of the Resurrection and en-

joy God’s Beautiful springtime!

As this Columbian year starts to draw to an end, it’s time to prepare for elections of new officers.

The new slate of officer candidates for Council #10287 will be discussed at our first meeting of

the month—May 8. Being an officer of your Council is a great way to get more involved in ser-

vice. I know from fist hand experience, you will receive much more joy and grace through service

than you can imagine. If you are at all interested in being an officer, come to this meeting and

find out more!

Also happening in May is our Ice Cream Social. Bring the entire family for an evening of fun,

food & games (like Bingo). Our Ice Cream Social will be in the Parish Center Hall after the 5:00

PM Mass on Saturday, May 26.

I will close by mentioning a program that is available to all Catholics, not just Knights. The pro-

gram is Cursillo. I had my Cursillo weekend in April. If you are not familiar with it, a Cursillo is

a movement in the Catholic Church which by means of a specific method makes it possible for

people to live what is fundamental for being a Christian, and to live it together. My Cursillo week-

end has had a profound spiritual effect on me and I must recommend it to my brother Knights. I

guess you might think of it as a kind of retreat, but you will find it can be much more that that.

You really should find out more.

Your Servant in Christ,

Bob Alvarado

Long-TermCarePlansOfferPeaceofMind

Since its addition to the Order’s product portfolio in 2000, long-term care (LTC) insurance has provided the Knights of Colum-

bus with an excellent opportunity to further serve members and their families. And, for our long-term care policy holders in the

United States, there’s an added bonus.

It’s called “Provider Pathway,” a program offering access to a network of long-term care providers at discounted rates. The net-

work includes discounts on products, such as hearing aids, diabetic supplies, personal emergency response systems, and durable

medical equipment, as well as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, and adult day care.

Eligibility for participation in this program is open to Knights of Columbus long-term care insurance policyholders, their spous-

es, dependent children, parents and parents-in-law. All providers are fully credentialed and meet state licensing requirements.

If you haven’t yet spoken with me about long-term care insurance, you owe it to yourself to do so. There are a few decisions to

make in choosing a “plan” — a comprehensive plan that covers care whether you’re at home or in a facility, or one that covers

facility only; daily benefit amounts and benefit durations (how much and how long it will last); and the length of the elimination

period (waiting period) before benefits kick-in.

Having a professionally trained agent ― and a

brother Knight you can trust ― to help guide

you through the process is yet another valua-

ble benefit that comes with your membership.

Take advantage of it; contact me today.

God love you all!

Best Regards,

Kevin Garza
