2019-2020 FaR Out/Capital Volleyball Club Season Information Packet
Welcome! We know you have many choices when it comes to choosing a volleyball club. We, at FaR Out and Capital, aspire to be the clubs that offers the best training and coaching in an environment where everyone is encouraged to grow as both an athlete and a person while creating lifelong relationships and memories. Our current and former families consistently affirm this aspiration as one family remarked, “FaR Out Volleyball Club has helped us raise a hard-working, responsible, confident young woman. For years to come we will see the impact of the lessons she's learned in the gym!” Once you become a part of the FaR Out family, our interactive and informative website will give you access to schedules, coaches’, team information and fundraising options. You can also follow along closely with former alumni who are currently competing at the collegiate and professional level and look for upcoming events! We would love for you to be a part of FaR Out and Capital Volleyball Clubs and join our current athletes and families who are believing in and seeing our shared goals be attained.
“In my opinion, at its best, the relationship between coaches and parents is a “partnership”. Certainly the coach provides the technical knowledge in the given sport they are coaching, but I think more broadly a coach is both building and testing character elements that will lead to successful young ladies in life. Things like discipline, effort, teamwork, accountability, sacrifice, competitiveness and leadership are all elements that we would hope to instill in our kids. But these are truly built and tested in the microcosm of sports. I see this every day in your practices; in your emails; in how my daughter talks about the club, coaches and her team; and in the theatre of combat (tournaments). It’s truly a training ground for life…and I believe that you guys know this. So, in addition to my gratitude for preparing and enabling my daughter's volleyball journey, I wanted to thank you for all that you are doing for her in her development into a strong young lady and good citizen. Your work is much appreciated.”
-2018 FaR Out family We look forward to serving your athletes in 2019-2020!
Gratefully,
Joe, Rox, Cam, Megan, Allison and Allison

Tryout Process
Pre-Registration All athletes will need to pre-register on www.faroutvolleyball.com. This is so we can accurately staff and provide the correct number of t-shirts and materials. A non-refundable tryout fee of $55 will be required at the time of online registration.
Walk-Up Registration Athletes who did not pre-register will be asked to do so on our website the day of the tryout. This could delay your check in time so please arrive early. All participants will need to check in, verify uniform sizing, and receive their tryout t-shirt and number.
Evaluation
Tryouts will consist of both skill testing and game play situations. We coaches facilitating the tryout and separate coaches evaluating each player. All players will be wearing the same tryout t-shirt with their own individual number. We assume every athlete trying out wants to participate with FaR Out and will accept a position if offered. We require that no parents enter the gym so athletes can fully concentrate on their tryout.
Pre-Tryout Parent Meeting
There will be a brief parent meeting prior to the start of the first tryout for each level/age group. This is optional but we highly recommend that all families that are new to the club attend.
Team Selection
Teams are created based on ability level. For our national and 6-month (regional) teams, age groups may be combined if they are of similar ability level. For 3 month teams (local), players are typically placed with their grade level first then further separated by ability level. We will do everything in our power to place every player who tries out for FaR Out or Capital, but we do not guarantee team placement. Tryout fees are non-refundable regardless if your athlete is placed or you decline your placement.
Communication
After tryouts, participants will receive a handout with the details on how team placements will be communicated. Team placements will be posted online within 3 days unless otherwise communicated. Team placements will be posted at www.faroutvolleyball.com. Please follow the instructions for accepting placement and how to set up a payment plan. It is vital that you accept or decline ASAP as this immediately impacts the formation of other teams and its players.
