Some of the people I want to live with next year are not the same gender as me. Are we allowed to live together? If all parties are comfortable with living with someone of the opposite gender, then you are welcome to request each other as roommates and select a mixed gender unit during the self-selection process.

What if I want to live with a specific person of the opposite gender but am not willing to live with just anyone of the opposite gender? You can opt to select “same gender” as your preference, but are still able to select a person of the opposite gender during the roommate request portion of your application. The “Same or Mixed Gender” question really only applies to applicants who are assigned room manually.
