• 2019 AMMP funding is authorized by the Budget Act of 2018, SB 856.
• This program has been created in response to the recommendations of the SB 1383 Dairy and Livestock Working Group.
• Up to $2 million available in funding. • Two components:
• AMMP Demonstration Projects New Technologies and Practices (AMMP-Demo NTP): Up to $1 million available.
• AMMP Demonstration Projects Advancing Practices Farmer-to-Farmer (AMMP-Demo-APFF): Up to $1million available.
• Project duration• October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2021.

Eligibility
• California-based University Researchers, non-profits, for-profit companies in collaboration with CA dairies or livestock operations including Native American Indian Tribes.
• The project site must be located on a commercial California dairy or livestock operation.
• Implement and demonstrate new technologies or practices that reduce methane and are not currently covered under AMMP.
• Much include outreach and education component.• Maximum grant amount: Up to $1 million.

Exclusions• Projects that propose to switch existing management
practices to those that increase baseline greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (e.g. from dry scrape to flush lagoon systems).
• Dairies with existing anaerobic digester.• Duplicate equipment or activities that will receive
funding from a different state or federal funding source.• Project with existing dairy digesters funded by CDFA’s
DDRDP or accepted or planning to accept AMMP, AMMP Demo-Advancing Practices Farmer-to-Farmer, DDRDP or DDRDP Demonstration Projects.
• Treatment of manure digestate, i.e. digested manure material resulting from an anaerobic digestion process.

Project Technologies and Practices• New and innovative technologies/ practices not
covered under AMMP.• Must reduce dairy methane and maximize
environmental co-benefits.• Methane reduction claims must be supported by
published research.• Provide life cycle analysis of manure and any by-
product resulting from the project.• Technologies/ practices that are not involved in GHG
reduction are eligible with matching funds.

• Maximum grant amount: up to $250,000.
